I know awards don’t matter, but I really think she deserved an Emmy for this episode.

She got nominated for this very episode, but nah, didn't get it. She did deserve it tho, she nailed so many little details of all the cast.

She got nominated for this very episode,

Unfortunately not true

Schur, on the other hand, took a moment to speak his mind on the matter: “I’m sorry, I know you’re not supposed to talk about stuff like this, but imagine if your job is to make a list of the best supporting actress performances on television, and imagine you watch that episode and you think, ‘You know, just not top five.’ Imagine that. Imagine how crazy a human being you would have to be.”

“Art is subjective, and to each, his or her own. I understand it,” he continued. “But I will never understand D’Arcy Carden not getting nominated for an Emmy for that performance.”

I don't think she did. Ted dandon got a nomination and this episode got a nomination for writing but d'arcy didn't get one

Turns out she was actually nominated the next year for the episode "You’ve Changed, Man,” and not this one.

She studied the others acting meticulously for this. They even recorded their dialogue so she could listen to it while she was driving. She tells a great story about seeing William Jackson Harper (Chidi) while listening to his voice and pulling the car over and blasting the volume. He apparently smiled kindly and said "Oh no. You've gone crazy."

This was the best podcast - as a non podcast listener - this one, I love.

Since I don't listen to podcast, I am not sure.
I would guess that I-Tunes might have it.
I listen to it in 2022.

No matter how many times I see this episode there is always at least a few seconds of time during it when I forget it's one actress and not the actual characters

I love D'arcy's acting for this reason

D'arcy deserved yearly nominations for her amazing work. She genuinely made me laugh out loud many dozens of times.

for me it was every time she said “not a girl” or “not a robot” just offhandedly!

Carden should have won an Emmy for this.

This episode is the reason that D'arcy should absolutely have more TV roles and all of them should be leads.

I just listed to the podcast episode from 6/13/19, Event: Emmys for your consideration and they talked about how intense this episode was to make.

Her as Jason was everything. "Lets all say white people things. Billy Joel. I found it on Etsy. There was no where to park. DID YOU REFILL THE BRITA?!?"

Bad Janet is my favorite Janet but this episode was such a showcase of D’Arcy Carden’s talent.

Girl you were so good in this episode.

Not a girl.

She's my favorite on the good place, together with Ted Danson.

The subtle brilliance of D’Arcy playing Eleanor pretending to be Jason cannot be overstated. Such nuanced and refined acting isn’t often seen in a 1/2 network television show.

The BEST episode.
I am not a pod cast fan, but this one I listened to and LOVED it.

They had D'Arcy as a guest when they talked about this episode and WOW, all she went thru to learn all of the dialogue.
