Events Concours d’Appréciation pics

If ever I needed a relaxed evening in the sun with cars, a burger, and a zero-beer(x2) it was tonight.

Despite all the supercars, the Sera was the star for me. Joyful in every restored crevice, voluptuous glass panel and subtle modification.

I also never appreciated how many tones the body of a DMC-12 could offer. It is not just a silver car. Over the course of a few hours the setting sun cast it in bronzes and a dozen shades of grey showing panel work that simply hid earlier on. Mega thing.

I hope Ti gained a few subs along the way as it was a very relaxed evening and hope it’s repeated with another theme to set them apart from the usual stuff. Well done.

The weather couldn’t have been kinder, the crowd more enthusiastic and the cars more electric, and well used…

We’ll be doing it again 👍

My favourite Story of all the cars by far

(But all of them were great to read)

When I read 'For a free 2 month gift subscription scan the QR code" I wept. 👏

How utterly charming.

I would definitely need a standard car transporter to get my choices home.

Yes was great :-) A personal highlight was meeting David T and him signing my copy of Inside the Machine (my favourite book).

Thank you for the brilliant set of photos Mr Fruit, and so glad you enjoyed the event! Really did go swimmingly.

An unusual Mazda 323 (I believe this gen also donated its underpinnings to the first RX-7)

My MR2 was right next to that lifted discovery

Ye gods I'd forgotten about these - there used to be hundreds of these wee Mazdas around, and there was even a quite popular one-make rally championship for them for a few years. All eaten by tinworm now, I guess!

Two Nissan-engined sports cars.
(Fun fact, I tried taking this from the other rear 3/4 angle but the R35 eclipsed the little Alpine entirely).

I enjoyed the combination of designs, ages and colours here

Had a good chat with the Longbow guy, promises the production car will be a lot sleeker, 900kg, 300hp RWD, sounds promising.

I absolutely loved this early XK120 (perhaps LHD as most/all were for export back then?). apparently much-fettled and 300hp, looked so so good. (Would have been my choice from the concours).

Really shows off the blade-like profile of this E9

Great evening, good to catch up with former colleagues, like D Twohig and D Pook, and see some interesting cars.
Meant to ask Richard if he gained the HPC sticker on his GT2 and if he had to suffer John Lyon to get it like I did🤣

I think he did, as did I - need a JLSC sticker as well I think

Few tasty cars there! That GR with the Castrol livery is cool!

Brilliant event, lovely evening - again again please! 😁

Seeing so much love for my M5 warmed the cockles of an old man's heart, nice to see it appear in the final of the 12 pics here too. Will never tire of it, a Munich masterpiece 💖
