Centrist Democrats Are Trying to Throw the Michigan Race | El-Sayed’s Senate race could decide control of the chamber. Yet some centrist Dems are openly working to sink his campaign — because they’d rather hand the seat to a Trump-backed Republican than let the Left gain a foothold in their party.

Hasan Piker phenomena
The HP tempest in a teacup is interesting. I confess I like him well enough, and have heard enough from him to trust his intentions are benign, and clearly have been helpful to several recent progressive congressional candidates, but otherwise, he's just a goofy kid who somehow found a living streaming "edgy" political opinions nonstop on Twitch, except they're only really "edgy" within the confines of the lower 48 states, but would be considered incredibly tame in the entire rest of the world. And yet, to hear the rightwingers - or "centrists" - carry on, you'd think he's Mephistopheles or something.
My take is, he has somehow positioned himself perfectly over some target or other, to where a critical mass of K Streeters, political-consultancy-industrial-complex dwellers, et al, are convinced there's a relatively lucrative bag to collect from attacking him. And at first, it didn't achieve anything for them OTHER than helping them collect that bag, but may even have materially HARMED the interests of the geriatric daddy warbucks billionaire/centimillionaire types who fill those bags for them (eg, when Mallory McMorrow dropped out in MI).
Now, however, that the entire "Mighty Wurlitzer" of the corporate far right echochamber HQed at Foxnews has caught on and started amplifying their messaging nonstop, apparently, they are increasingly hopeful that their hate/smear campaign against a single goofy thirty something Twitch streamer will actually hit not just monetary but actual political paydirt.

Israel Has Robbed Gaza’s People of Their Homes | Israel has systematically destroyed 135,000 buildings across the Gaza Strip, an orgy of vandalism that has continued since the declaration of a ceasefire. It is obstructing all efforts at reconstruction with the aim of making life in Gaza impossible.

Are Democrats doing enough to raise concerns over mail-in-ballot issues under new USPS policy?
I feel like this has not been pressed nearly hard enough recently and the midterms are just around the corner.
A whistleblower recently told congress that the USPS is moving forward with plans to restrict mail-in-voting that could result in thousands of legitimate ballots being discarded.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal hypothesized that if a state brought a batch of 10,000 ballots to the postal service, and they’re unable to match one ballot because “someone has changed their name after marriage or they moved — then USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well.”
In my opinion, this issue has faded away in the mainstream, and Dems haven’t been nearly vocal enough lately when it comes to educating the public and providing guidance to avoid any confusions with mail-in ballots as well as in person voting come Election Day. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The only 3 progressives who could possibly seriously challenge US Rep. Hakeem Jeffries for US Speaker in 2027 are AOC, US Rep. Ro Khanna, and US Rep. Maxwell Frost:
What's in this Post comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.
AOC would be the US Speaker in 2027 if that's what she wanted. OCASIO-CORTEZ, ALEXANDRIA - Candidate overview | FEC (Raised over $32.6Mln this 2026 cycle by the end of June 2026). There'll be even more progressives in the 2027 US House and it's possible that Justice Democrats and DSA Democrats might even hold the margin for control of the US House.
US Rep. Ro Khanna is a major fundraiser: KHANNA, ROHIT - Candidate overview | FEC (over $13.8Mln this 2026 cycle in a Solid-D seat: 2026 CPR House Race ratings | Cook Political Report. He's a major part of the Epstein files release. He'd need AOC's support.
US Rep. Maxwell Frost is the other one: FROST, MAXWELL ALEJANDRO - Candidate overview | FEC (raised over $3.5Mln) in a Solid-D seat.
He's a co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC. Progressive Caucus. He'd also need AOC's support.
A huge problem for lefitsts and progressives is that people like US Rep. Ro Khanna wanted to run for POTUS 2028 when he should have run for Governor of California in 2026. No leftist or progressive US House member who fundraises enough seems interested in being the next US Speaker. And people like US Senator Chris Van Hollen instead of wanting to be the US Senate Majority Leader seems to want to run for POTUS 2028. US Rep. Khanna and US Senator Van Hollen have around 0% chance of winning the Democratic POTUS 2028 primary.
AOC is the only progressive much less DSA member with any chance of becoming POTUS in 2029. If AOC isn't in that primary, it's possible the Republican wins the general election. At-best, we'd have a Buttigieg Administration given outside of AOC, he's arguably been the most progressive and most helpful to Democrats this 2026 cycle among the Democrats who could actually win the Democratic POTUS 2028 Nomination and he wants to do things like Expand SCOTUS. I don't trust FVPOTUS Kamala Harris's trying to portray herself as a progressive. She could have done that in the 2024 POTUS race. California Governor Gavin Newsom isn't trustworthy enough. US Senator Jon Ossoff is a centrist Democrat: Congressional Democrat Left Tracker - Google Sheets (US Senate) He's 38/47 on that list.
