The main problem is that the simulation is off. If an approximately 100 lb rock has enough energy to be flying perfectly horizontal with no apparent ballistic drop, the impact with the red SUV wouldn't just lay the driver back.

Think pink mist and body parts, piñata style.

My grandfather witnessed this scene play out on the highway irl, only it was a 20 lb.(ish) rock that bounced out of the back of a dump truck.

Dump truck was the lead car, the victim car was following behind it, and gramps was behind the victim. The victims car just slowly ran off the road into a cornfield, but didn't disengage the cruise control. It maintained the 55-60mph it was driving all the way across the field until it slammed full force into the tree line at the back of the field.

Gramps, not knowing what had just happened, pulled over to go see if the people in the victim car needed help, so he started a brisk walk across the field to the wrecked vehicle. When he got to the driver side window, he saw a 20 lb. rock sitting in the lap of a dead man who had a rock sized hole in his head where his face used to be.

And that's my Gramps TL/DR version of his final destination story, even though he doesn't know what final destination is or means.

(The OG story from gramps is about 45 minutes long, with plenty repetition and every year, make, model, and engine of all the cars involved along with their own respective rabbit holes)

The physics generator is totally fucked. The brake lights illuminated on the pickup carrying the rock. It would slide forward in the bed. The whole sequence is predicated on a physical impossibility.

Do you think red SUV driver is OK though?

Not sure. I've seen this exact person in a lot of accidents over the years. Someone should take away their license asap

Shelly appeared a little anxious even before the rock kicked up

Didn’t this happen irl?

Don't think making me die of laughter was the intended effect

I love these soft body type simulations - amazing cool tech

Accident reconstruction simulation is an art and a science. People do this for a job. The results are terrifying

I love how the semi jumps the rock but just keeps driving straight.

Am I the only one that heard “His name is John Cena!” when the blue station wagon got flipped?

It's worse, actually, as you can see how badly the stone fucks up the truck's wheel. I've seen enough car crash video to know that this would cause the truck to automatically swerve sharply to it's left, with all the following consequences.

Also, this reminds me of the German TV series "Alarm fur Cobra 11" which was famous for it's car crashes and pile-ups.

Why is there no barrier between the two sides of traffic? That would have prevented most of the carnage, and its exactly why highways have a central barrier IRL.

This is why BeamNG is top tier gaming, man.

Assuming nobody uses their brakes and just continues flooring it

This happened to my dad's friend in front of his wife in kids in a mini van. But it was a piece of 18 wheeler tire that came through the window and decapitated him in front of his wife and kids while he drove. Fucked up

This game looks awesome

Get it, its cheap compared to a lot of other games, its the best of its kind, it has a mod repository, you can play multiplayer, and it is frequently updated, even a decade after its release

That is exactly why I gun it any time I need to pass a truck. I want to spend as little time in the splash zone as possible.

No one had a chance! That's the premise to that Final Destination scene. No matter what car you drove, how good of a driver you are, no one's getting out of that scene alive. That's scary 😰😱

But does this hurt the fish?

1

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 1d ago

No, because they are safe in the other room

u/Nosmer1 1d ago

Much better than flying logs.

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 1d ago

Did you say log?
