I didn’t notice this in first few watches but I think it’s relevant that Marlo just lost money at the poker game and felt defeated which is why he took his anger out on the security guard.

he makes a very subtle short grunt sound when he's pissed, did it as he left that poker game, don't be messing with Marlo in a bad mood. Security guard took the fall for his mood.

I respectfully disagree. I think he was offended that the security guard didn’t know who he was. Further, that man dared to question Marlo stealing.

I know what the security guy said, but he didn’t look scared until Chris rolled up. He knew he fucked up. He didn’t realize Marlo was the top man.

The security guard knew who Marlo was. He tells Marlo he knew he who he was and wasn’t stepping to him

Marlo was in a bad mood from losing in poker, and stole the candy in front of the guard just to pick on him, and then had him killed for “talking back”.

I took the security guard saying “I know who are” as more “I know your type” versus he knew who he actually was.

Edit: if he knew who he was he wouldn’t have stepped towards him like he did imo.
