DHS are the jackbooted thugs. George W. Bush created the mechanism so that someone else can implement our version of order 66.

They Don’t Want a Renaissance. They Want a Workforce
I’m increasingly skeptical of the way AI literacy and STEM education are being packaged and promoted with enormous amounts of Big Tech and VC money. The problem isn’t STEM or AI themselves—it’s the possibility of creating a culture where one narrow model of intelligence, productivity, and success becomes socially mandatory. When the same institutions that dominate technology also influence what young people are taught to aspire to, we should be asking whether education is producing independent thinkers or simply a highly trained workforce for the existing system.
That is where the danger starts to resemble a form of intellectual authoritarianism. Fascism, at its core, is not just about uniforms and dictators; it is also about subordinating individual thought to a dominant system, ideology, or institutional power. A genuinely free society should have no hierarchy of “approved” knowledge. Why couldn’t ancient philosophy, Morse code, biology, geometry, literature, mathematics, and engineering collide to produce something revolutionary? The next Renaissance may come precisely from people who refuse to stay inside these artificial boundaries. We shouldn’t abolish STEM or AI education—we should abolish the idea that they are the only forms of knowledge that matter. Intellectual freedom means letting people explore everything, think independently, create without permission, and build alternatives to entrenched technological and bureaucratic power. Otherwise, we risk producing a generation that is exceptionally good at serving the system—and increasingly incapable of imagining a different one.

James Talarico: "Nothing terrifies them more, than people who show up to vote, and people who show up to hold elected officials accountable. It's why they arrested people." In Tarrant County TX, Judge Tim O'Hare is surgically cutting voting locations in minority and poor areas to help Maga.

This feels very relevant now
On a separate social media platform, I recently made the comment “I never want to hear Republicans talk about small government again”
Well, some people voiced agreement with me, others voiced disagreement stating, “it’s about Rich versus Poor, not Right versus Left”
While I can appreciate the sentiment, I think it is fundamentally flawed because it ignores the fact that the Republican Party has a consistent pattern of supporting the rich and taking away from the middle class & poor people.
And just as this post said, I think all that argument really does is disenfranchise people from participating in politics at all because they think “they’re all the same.”
Which is a contributing reason why Trump got elected, but now we are seeing people who are undecided voters regretting their choice because the Republicans have made it clear as they who they are in favor of.
None of this is to say that the Democratic Party is perfect, as its leadership does have issues, but that is something that can (and should) be fixed.
The Right Wing on the hand cannot be worked with. You cannot cooperate and make compromises with a group that doesn’t believe in those things, and they were like this long before Trump. They’re just not bothering to hide it anymore. You can’t fix them, you just have to realize that they’re never going to have your interests in mind and they’ll always favor personal gain over you.
