(Featuring the piece of pork that looks like a duck head)

My husband's coworker passed these around to everyone today. The larger ball is dense and sugary in the middle and the little bits appear to be fried drops of something tossed with peanuts in a spicy savory seasoning.

I have been buying these flavoured almonds from the nearby Middle Eastern / Arabic supermarket to me (Umrah) for a while now and I absolutely love them but I have no idea what they’re seasoned with.

They taste quite salty and tangy, almost sour (like a strong salt and vinegar flavour). The nuts themselves have been dyed red by the seasoning and look to have bits of salt on.

Any ideas as to what these are? I have been buying them within mixed seeds and try to pick out the red ones but would love to buy them on their own / make my own at home.

Any help would be much appreciated!!! :))

I had this years ago and it was so good… I believe it’s Arab or Mediterranean.

Hello! I have a distinct memory of some cookies that were always at my grandparents’ house at Christmas. It was an aluminum can, with maybe 8 sleeves of small cookies in different shapes - like danish butter cookies, except the flavors were different. I know they had a chocolate chip, and they had a coconut one where you could actually taste the coconut, unlike this piece of trash I just tried. Anyway! I guess I thought these were common to every grandma’s snack table, and I went to look them up online, and…I can’t find anything like them. If it helps, I always pictured them coming from the type of place that also sells big tins of popcorn.

Filipino Call It Puto. Need Help Identify This?

I got this at Boar’s Head Deli, normally they use a different white sub roll, but they ran out of it and used this instead. I asked the employees what bread it was, and they told me it was just some type of hot dog rolls. Does anyone recognize the exact brand/product? I’m trying to find the same bread to buy for myself. It was very soft and had a smooth, slightly shiny top.

It was sold in a wrapper was green and had white dots inside i used to buy it in school it was thin and as wide as a thumb if i remember correctly here is a quick drawing i made i dont remember how the wrapper looked like but i think it was dark green or black not sure tho

cleaning out my pantry. found a lot of things, including buckwheat, quinoa, barley, rye, couscous, semolina. but also found this, and i'm not completely sure what this is. looks like barley grits, but i'm not sure.

EDIT: we seem to be divided between bulgur and steel cur oats. will try cooking this tomorrow and see what happens!

does anyone know where i can find a taste a-like to the limited grogu garlic dipping sauce? i fell in love and now theyre not selling it :( any ideas where i can find something with the same texture and taste?

When I was growing up we had an older Texan Canadian family friend and she cooked a lot of southern American food whenever we went over to her house. There was a time where I ended up staying at her house while my mother was away and one lunch she made me something she called a "Hot Chicken Sandwich". It was a chicken sandwich, like a grilled chicken fillet in sandwich bread, topped with a white gravy. I don't know if it was a Texan thing, a Southern American thing, or just something she made, but I've tried searching for it online and I just keep getting hot (as in spicy) chicken burger places.

Is this a thing? Is there a recipe for it? did she just make it up on the fly? Did anyone else have this growing up? She said there was also a hot meat sandwich that was the same as the hot chicken sandwich but with steak meat I think?

I'm going nuts trying to find these things that may or may not still exist. They were big squares of oatmeal (maybe like 6-7inches squares, half inch thick) with some sort of white drizzled icing. They were pretty hearty from what I remember. They're not cereal and they're not whatever soft baked Nature Valley nonsense is out now...I think Quaker made them? All Google finds is the oatmeal squares cereal which definitely isn't what I'm thinking of 😩

Hoping someone can help me remember this food I had a long time ago.

I visited Nagoya in 2014 and at the station I stopped by one of the many shops there selling gift boxes. I bought a package of these individually wrapped round-shaped balls. They were shaped sort of like dumpling but smooth. Closer to Dango but not chewy/sticky at all and a bit bigger. They were dry and a little bit chalky, but soft when you bit into them. They had a slightly sweet flavor and were a light beige/tan color. They were so delicious. I have never been able to find them at any Japanese market here in the US but ive also not know what they are called.

Hi all! I've been searching for the name of these for years, never thought to post here. Hopefully someone knows.

I found these chocolates in France. They were in a self serve bin with a scoop, like you'd find in a bulk or candy store. They are the size of an M&M, covered in a candy coating like an M&M, but are triangular. The first ones I had were milk chocolate and orange colored, the second ones were dark chocolate and a mix of either pink/green or pink/white, I can't quite remember.

Does this ring a bell to anyone? It would mean the world to me! They were first given to me as a gift when I was a kid and I LOVED them.

Had these white bean cookies recently and wanted to know their actual background.

They’re piped into a spiral/chestnut shape, made of sweet white bean paste, and have a dense, slightly dry and crumbly texture.

My Korean friend super confidently said it’s an old-school Korean snack, but my Japanese friend had zero clue and said they’ve never seen it in Japan. Checked Wiki out of curiosity and it lists them as a Japanese confection though??

Anyone know what the actual deal is with these? Is it Korean, Japanese, or something else?

I'm in the UK but there are quite a lot of Polish shops in most towns here. Anyway I went a bit further than usual today back to my old stomping grounds and the Polish shop I used to love buying 7Days croissants and herbal teas from.

Anyway, they've now got a small bakery counter now so I decided to get a couple of these small poppyseed pastries. They also had larger ones in slices which I have determined to be makowiec, bu these little ones look too different. Firstly they are much smaller and individual sized. Second, the makowiec I find on Google only seems to have the poppyseed paste, not the cheesecake-like filling too. I didn't think to look or ask at the time which is silly of me; all of the labels and signs are in Polish which obviously I cannot understand.

Is this simply a variant of makowiec that this shop had made, or is this its own thing? I'd really love to eat it again, but I don't know when I'll be back in the vicinity of the shop I got it from. Being able to find a Polish bakery closer to home (or even bake it myself!) would be an easier option.

I had this once and cannot for the life of me figure out what it was. It was like, fresh crispy butter lettuce(?), and a light peanut sauce, plus wonton strips as croutons. Maybe some shredded carrots. But that was it. I tried getting it again by ordering the house salad a different time and it was limp shredded romaine, super salty, and just not good. I then tried getting their “Thai peanut salad” and it had a bunch of other stuff that I didn’t want (celery, cucumber, bell peppers, etc). Does anyone know what this was? It was so crisp and simple and peanuty and refreshing and I cannot get it out of my head

It was half white and half pink, newsagents used to sell them for 10p a piece. Measurements may be incorrect as I was smaller at the time.

When you bit into it, it had a very satisfying sensation and it was almost like powdered sugar set into a little block.

There used to be this amazing whipped either spinach or artichoke parmesan dip that was either sold at whole foods or giant. it was a light green color and had a whipped ricotta/paste texture with no pieces of veggie in it or anything. I feel like it’s discontinued, but I used to LOVE it when I was younger and my grandma and I both forgot the name and where exactly she would buy it. Probably a long shot but recently remembered it again.

I randomly remembered this candy I used to buy at a corner store as a kid. And I want to know what its called. I made a rough image of what the packaging looked like. Please help!
