Rick and Morty – S1E11 ("Ricksy Business") – Jerry and Beth go to a Titanic reenactment, where a cleaning lady harasses Jerry and tries to rape him, but Beth saves him.

Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) – in the bar/cantina scene, a local thug sexually assaults Gunnar, while Cora responds by beating the thug up.

Awake (2021) – a group of escaped criminals see the female main character's teenage son and quite openly say that they want to rape him. The main character successfully defends her son.

The Flower and the Empress (2019) – in prison, female guards going to rape the male lead, but the female lead arrives and saves him.

Paying it forward

7

u/J_C_F_N 5h ago

Does it count when it's an engineered situation and the other guy didn't think Armin was a man?

24

u/ContractNational2680 4h ago

armin getting molested was NOT part of the plan 😭

3

u/Rexcodykenobi 3h ago

Yes. I think there might have even been a panel in the manga where this guy smiles at Armin all creepily after this and tells him "you changed something inside of me".

Athena and Odysseus - Homer's Odyssey

When Odysseus arrieved at Calypso's island, Ogygia, he ended up becoming a prisoner of the goddess in the island, being forced to sleep with the deity against his will while he yearned with returning home to his wife Penelope. He stayed like that for 7 years, by the will of Poseidon... until he went into a visit to Aethiopia. Taking her chance to do something now that Poseidon was not around, Athena went to ask her father Zeus for the release of Odysseys, who had suffered many woes. Zeus, feeling bad for Odysseus, agreed at her request and send Hermes to demand the release of Odysseus by his will, thus Calypso was forced to comply.

And yet everyone says Odysseus cheated on his wife....

I think it depends on which translation/version you look at.

8

u/AnotherPerson120 1h ago

No, because there's only one version: the Odyssey. And every translator agrees it was against his will (Circe might be up for more debate though).

6

u/Imaginary-West-5653 1h ago

Circe might be up for more debate though).

It actually isn't, the only time in the Odyssey where both had sex is when Odysseus was being blackmailed into having sex with her to free his men; in the Odyssey at least, there is no evidence that he cheated on Penelope whatsoever (non-Homeric myths discounted).

u/AnotherPerson120 1h ago

I suppose so. But I had the impression he stayed longer than he had to? Or was it just storms?

3

u/Imaginary-West-5653 50m ago

He did so, but he was Circe's guest, and it would be impolite to leave so soon considering the laws of xenia at the time (and Circe is a fearsome goddess; even when he left, he had to kneel and beg for her permission to go). Besides, he had already spent ten years at war and a good while sailing, and Circe was showering them with gifts, baths, and delicacies. The point of this passage is that despite everything Circe tried to make Odysseus stay, his heart belonged elsewhere (at Ithaca), so Circe ultimately gave up.

Love from the TV show You defended her brother, Forty, from being sexually assaulted as a teen by their adult babysitter while he was under the influence of drugs by killing the babysitter. This is shown in a flashback but it still counts.

Casca protecting Guts in Berserk fits this perfectly

28

u/RedDingo777 8h ago

Casca did not protect Guts from sexual assault

The 2019 BBC adaptation of A Christmas Carol is a much darker interpretation of the classic story. During the past segment, the Nandor of Christmas Past shows Ebenezer a memory of when his sister came to pick him up from his boarding school where he is being sexually abused by his headmaster.

What he didn’t realize at the time was that his sister literally had to threaten his headmaster with a gun (“like a fucking highwayman!”) in order to get Ebenezer out of there. Scrooge gained a new perspective on a traumatic memory and learned the depth of love that his sister had for him and how far she was willing to go to protect him.

The ghost is kind of a shapeshifter in this one but at one point it appears to Scrooge as Ali Baba from 1001 Nights and he’s played by Kayvan Novak.

The Rebel Moon one is particularly intriguing, since in order to know that, you have to watch the movie, and the fact that someone sat through it is a miracle

63

u/TheDragonOverlord 6h ago

I watched it though with my dad and I wish I hadn't 🥲

30

u/Toukafan4life 6h ago

The only thing I know about Rebel Moon is that Snyder fanatics will insist it's better than Star Wars and that there's a vagina portal

17

u/L0ll0ll7lStudios 6h ago

The R-rated cuts, while really long, are pretty fun as dumb action movies. The PG-13 versions are kind of mid.

17

u/10-4shutthefckupnow 6h ago

Id argue that rebel moon was actually pretty good right up until the bar scene.

The world building and setup is so good that even a child could write a decent story from there. Sadly we had Snyder in charge instead.

Futurama: when the guys are saved from death... by SNU SNU

129

u/redelectro7 8h ago

I mean they're saved from death, but I'm not sure it fits this category,

103

u/Acriolu 8h ago

Kif certainly. But the other two welcomed it

10

u/werewolf-kittie 5h ago

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is soft and spongy

8

u/Due-Ingenuity9803 8h ago

And they definitely do not seem to consider it SA

57

u/Mountain-Resource656 8h ago

To be fair it doesn’t have to be recognized as SA to be so, and by the end of it they seemed to have been asking for a break for at least a little bit

36

u/Terminal_Insomnia_ 6h ago

Turns out being fucked to death, however willingly, would qualify as assault of a sexual nature.

0

u/Randver_Silvertongue 6h ago

But if they did consent to it would it still be SA?

The scene is satirizing the stereotype that men always want sex, but Fry and Zapp did consent until it started to physically hurt them. And even then they still seemed to be satisfied afterwards despite their injuries.

12

u/Zorro5040 6h ago

Once they became injured, they no longer wanted it and that's when consent is taken away.

They seemed happy at the end but also traumatized and wanted to leave.

Are You sure?

And Kif, as the most attractive male, will mate with the most beautiful women of Amazonia.

Then the large women.

Then the petite women.

Then the large women again!

The one case I wouldn't want to be saved

Elvia/Via (I Fell Into a Reverse Harem Game!)

With threats of death, banishment, and mutilation, she makes sure that nobody even thinks about SAing her concubine again.

The following exchange in King Arthur (2004), spoken while facing an enormous army.

Lancelot: “You look frightened. There's a large number of lonely men out there...”

Guinevere: “Don't worry, I won't let them rape you.”

Edit: This might be debatable, because Guinevere is mocking Lancelot for assuming she’d be the target, but it’s also plausible as the King of the Saxon hoard had ordered the men not to rape the local women lest they mix their blood. So, in a sense, Guinevere is the least likely of the protagonists to be raped, and pretty Lancelot could have conceivably been in danger.

Sadly I have no examples. But this sounds real nice.

I’ve got one - “The End of the Fucking World”, the main female protagonist protects the male protagonist (James) from a man trying to sexually assault him.

In Konosuba a bunch of female orcs tries rape Kazuma, but he is saved by Yunyun.

The entire population of Earth, including animals, can suddenly no longer fall asleep despite the need too. It’s an interesting premise and we see people rapidly go insane as society collapses in the course of a week.

A key point is that the main characters youngest child can inexplicably sleep. So it’s a battle for the MC to keep her children safe while also trying to hurriedly prep her 9ish year old on how to survive once alone.
