❓Question Its down again and again
I'm new on TorBox since 2 weeks or so, and it's almost always down or goes down in the middle of streaming. I don't want to go back to Real Debrid even though it works perfectly because they don't allow words like Web and such in links.
With TorBox and Real Debrid out of the running, what can I use that works at least most days?

I’m just happy cause whenever yall say the app is down I’m never at home to use it and so far when I am using it it’s up so I’ve never had any issues
9
u/DoNot_Be_Afraid Jun 04 '26
You need to go back home and fix it then cause I need to finish catching up with invincible

Actual blinking at the same time type situation because for me it's as if it has never been down yet I doubt people are having collective psychosis so it must be me dodging the blackouts

Yeah can't even use 4k because of my internet, I run both RD and TB and I've never had any problems ever.
23
u/ninetailedfox33 Jun 03 '26
I had RD and TB for a while. Let my RD lapse cus I was using torbox as a primary and it was perfectly fine. This past week made me get AD as a backup cus this is becoming too consistent with downtime. I really hope it straightens out as I prefer Torbox.

u/xng Jun 03 '26
I'd rather not have to use 2 subscriptions, how does AD work out for you? What's the worst part of AD, if you had to mention something?
6
u/ninetailedfox33 Jun 03 '26
Honestly only difference so far is no usenet ( I have torbox pro) and I cant share it with my friend. Its been great otherwise but id also prefer not having two. I thought id be fine letting RD since they have there issues right now but quickly after torbox started going down multiple times a day it seems.
1
u/Lumentin Jun 04 '26
From what I read, AD is pretty consistent... But is french, so people fear it could go down the same path as RD. There's not much to lose anyway if it would happen in a few months.
9
u/vizNNN Jun 03 '26
This is the first time since I got a sub that I’ve experienced downtime and I subbed the day RD went down. To say it almost always goes down is crazy. Might be more of a you problem.
0
u/xng Jun 03 '26
Or a location problem? TorBox not being able to provide that often to western Europe.
2
u/rojod Jun 04 '26
From which country are you? Tbh this makes it sound even more like switching the CDN may work (after doing the CDN test). I am from western Europe and watch stuff literally on every hour of the day. Never got any real problems like you describe. So seems to be CDN or your config.
1
u/Next-Excitement1398 Jun 03 '26
What are you talking about
2
u/xng Jun 03 '26
Maybe it works for some and not for others because of what cdn they're on around the world.
1
u/Next-Excitement1398 Jun 03 '26
No it was down for everyone and now it’s working for everyone due to a DDOS attack on their API
0
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I know but maybe the other days it has been other problems. The guy tried to blame me for TorBox not working. That's why I tried to explain that maybe it can be different in different places.
2
u/Next-Excitement1398 Jun 03 '26
No one is blaming you for anything but saying it is down for most of the time is unquestionably nonsense. People are going to point out that you’re incorrect if you post incorrect stuff publicly.
1
u/Lumentin Jun 04 '26
It's his experience. How can you say he is incorrect about his own experience?
A lot of Europeans seem to have more problems than others, if you follow the sub regularly. Me included. And each time something was wrong, the status page showed a partial downtime, so we're not completely crazy.
1
u/xng Jun 03 '26
It has been true the past two weeks during the times I've had time to watch something, and that's the only time it matters for me that it works. So in my experience it has been down most of the time or too unstable for a good experience. Your experience may differ.
-1
u/Next-Excitement1398 Jun 03 '26
Might be more of a you problem then. I have been streaming 4K remuxes every day for the past two weeks the only problem was today during the DDOS attack,
0
u/xng Jun 03 '26
You just don't have any idea of what you're talking about. You need to be really retarded to believe that none else can have problem with a service that works for you. And I have no idea why TorBox would report errors in their services if nothing is wrong.. Doesn't make sense. You really are only here to quarrel. Do you see yourself as a proud keyboard knight?

I switched to easynews. Doesn't really go down because it's infrastructure is worldwide and it doesn't depend on torrents. Found a promo on Reddit that gave me 15 months for $28 after tax and every link works. It basically uses usenet without having to pay for indexers to pull up the links. Look into it, it's amazing!

we're seeing a control plane DDoS attack on our routers in the US, resulting in our API being inoperable.
we're working on this with our upstream, apologies

6
u/champ3n Jun 03 '26
If you look at the site, in the past 3 months their API has had a 98,2% uptime. Yeah it's annoying when it goes down, but it is not that bad
4
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I know, but the downtime today had been more than 2 hours when their status said 11 minutes and that they'd fixed it. So that uptime ratio is heavily inflated to look good.
0
u/MasterClu Jun 03 '26
You speak like they are fudging their figures, that's not the case at all. Their API was still responding to calls to an extent during this time, it was just very slow, often failing but their tracked uptime is what it is through tools that report it.
2
u/Lumentin Jun 04 '26
"it was very slow, almost unusable, often failing, but that doesn't count in total downtime". If I try to start something and after a minute or two, it's still loading, I just let go, and consider it down. There were quite a few times just in may.
Btw, do we have information where and why the ddos would come from?
2
u/xng Jun 03 '26
When it's slower than expected and often failing it's a problem. It shouldn't be considered working. So yes if what you're saying is true they aren't honest with the downtime.
0
u/MasterClu Jun 04 '26
You do understand how tools that record downtime figures work right? Again insinuating they aren't honest and fudging the figures, seriously give over and stop acting like a little bitch.
1
u/Present_Jicama_1219 Jun 04 '26
do you think your comments are intelligent or informative? Or should I just keep trolling you
10
u/evil-tediz Jun 03 '26
My guy go touch grass. You are paying ~3 bucks a month for (almost) unlimited pirated content. If you don't want to deal with that pay the real services.
7
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I'm paying the "real services", at least several of them, their media players suck. I'm asking if anyone know of a service that works most of the time, instead of rarely. I don't think it exists right now, honestly, but one can hope that someone knows of one.
1
u/SecretProbation Jun 04 '26
I haven’t had a single issue in the same two weeks.
0
u/nurseblood Jun 04 '26
Same. Not until today. I thought it was me. It took me awhile to realize there was an actual issue as I've never seen it before and between everyone in our house, there is a lot of TV watching!
0
u/Lumentin Jun 04 '26
Never had a downtime and pretty good cache with PM. You have to wait black Friday and commit 2 or 3 years if you want to pay a good price though. I probably wouldn't have subscribed for the full 10 bucks (even if usenet is included). At half that price, I'm happy. Also depends how much you use it (fair points).
1
u/Acrobatic-Hour7025 Jun 04 '26
Sorry, what's PM? I'm currently trying torbox on one tv & real debrid on another to try to gauge which one to use long term.
1
u/lmao_wow_64 Jun 04 '26
Is you looking to stream content than RD really isn't an option after the crack down they've made and they'll continue to push harder
4
u/Substantial_Shock102 Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26
Same bullshit argument. It used to be RD goons, now it's transferred here.
Whether it's $3 or $300 isn't really the point. If a service takes payment and advertises a certain level of reliability, it's reasonable for users to discuss outages and performance issues when they occur.
API Outage occurred on 21st May, 2nd June, and 3rd June consecutively. Some may have got affected, some may not., they have 600k users as per their data. How many of them are even on Reddit?
As per Wamy's statement, from a technical point of view, they could do nothing. That's okay to me. I have also faced similar issues in the past. But when they say that "an attack like this shouldn't happen again," and again the same kind of attack takes place, it's a bit childish because an owner, not a mere staff member, is making a statement with confidence that's again proved wrong.
Similar incidents where the owner's statements were proved wrong have happened many times in the past. I mean, those who migrated in 2024 know it very well. Also, several posts about that are available here in this subreddit.
I just want to say: don't say things you can't back up. You're not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry; you're the owner of a service used by 600k users.

Just as I buy TorBox and make changes to remove RD from my setup, it has some downtime. Hopefully this isn't a regular thing.
1
u/o_Divine_o Jun 04 '26
Customers have been saying it's a consistent issue or just completely down.
It's very difficult to make a file hosting service bad. Even a cheap VPS is capable of serving billions of people. It's odd they have such a bad services, so consistently.
Even the worst quality, free file hosting scripts, are bulletproof.

1
u/solda46 Jun 04 '26
why don't you go to usenet streaming (or just usenet)? All you need is indexer, provider and selfhosted instances of usen et str eam er + nzb dav
2
u/xng Jun 04 '26
I'm going to look at that, thanks.
2
u/o_Divine_o Jun 04 '26
Rd, easynews (Usenet), & premiumize using Kodi on a fire cube is what I'm doing.
I still have close to a year on RD. I use it for anything remux/Blu-ray.
Web-dl is basically all premiumize
EN has only been used about 5 times since black Friday 2025, mostly because the file size was larger on it than torrents.. Thankfully it's only $2 a month because, there's nothing I that can't torrent. This far.
While you may not want rd. It's stupid cheap. I'd just subsidize it
1
u/xng Jun 04 '26
Is premiumize a debrid service though? It seems advertised more like a google-drive-like, and it costs more than netflix.
2
u/o_Divine_o Jun 04 '26
It's a few things, has Usenet, identical to rd, seedbox, and has a plethora of other integrations.
I have only used it as a RD replacement, and I guess a seed box on a private tracker, as I never deleted the files from those downloads.
It does have usage limits, unlike rd.
You can store 1tb of files, use 30gb worth of data you can stream a day but have a pool of 1,000 points you can dip into.
All debrid services are uk so they all can be murdered any day. Prem is Labuan, Malaysia. Piracy is alive and well there
1
1
u/xng Jun 04 '26
Also easynews costs $10 per month when I check.
1
u/o_Divine_o Jun 04 '26
1
u/xng Jun 04 '26
Looks like they autorenew at 3 times the price
1
u/o_Divine_o Jun 04 '26
My first year with them, but put the end date in your calendar, with a couple days before notifications.
Usually intro plans need a different email address, like hulu/Disney 1 year discount. Then you swap to another email for the next year. The following year you use the original email. Not sure you need to swap email with en, as some places you just let a day lapse after it's cancelled.
Technically given how much awesome they have with their website, and not needing a Usenet reader (they all look like ancient software) I say it's worth the price, IF you use them a lot.
En is a little slow at streaming in both Kodi and stremio at times. Like the file takes a min to wake up and stream. Not sure why, as the site doesn't seem to have issues. Could be where it's at as I can stream something else and seem fine.
Usenet is similar to reddit with r/something but I believe each bin/video/something is different servers.. so many that could be the issue. I'm not too knowledgeable in how that all works or is setup. I just know they have to host all those files themselves.

u/Zestyclose-Dress-526 Jun 04 '26
I waited. Didn’t move to TorBox at all
1
u/Penguinboy123446 Jun 04 '26
You waited for what? Nothing changed.
1
u/Zestyclose-Dress-526 Jun 04 '26
I waited for the other service I had and everything is ok working. Sometimes you just gotta keep doing you instead of following others
1
u/Penguinboy123446 Jun 04 '26
If you mean the other service is rd then nothing has changed there.
1
u/Zestyclose-Dress-526 Jun 04 '26
I think I’m lucky then because I only watch like 2-5 hours a day. I have Nuvio with my RD and some other plugin that puts everything together, if I couldn’t find it on RD then it’s the other links. But I’m very lucky that the series I’m watching are fully ok with RD so I can’t really complain.
1
u/Yen-Zen Jun 04 '26
I’m using Real Debrid and Torrentio with RD support. Hasn’t been down ever for me (yet). Maybe it’s worth switching.
1
u/hash700 Jun 04 '26
Same happened to me yesterday, twice a movie stopped playing, im gonna sign up to premiumize, there more expensive but alteast its the only one that works
1
u/solda46 Jun 04 '26
I used torbox for one year, but for me personaly, better option is Usenet (Stremio + NzbGeek + Newshosting + NzbDAV + UsenetStreamer). You can add NinjaCentral and Eweka, and later even more indexers and providers, also selfhosting UsenetStreamer and NzbDAV.
Perfect combination and it never fails
1
u/xng Jun 04 '26
Is there a good setup guide to speed things along? Can I do these things without Docker and python?
1
u/solda46 Jun 04 '26
you will need docker setup. It's one week learning but for shure longtherm it is pay off
1
u/xng Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26
I know how Docker works and I've used it a lot, I just don't want it installed on my machines anymore. It fucks things up a lot, always compatibility problems and missing dependencies. There's also no reason not to release a binary instead or a properly compilable repo.
1
u/solda46 Jun 05 '26
what OS is your primary system? Because you can set virtual machine like Ubuntu server 22.04 LTS, in this way completely isolate from main OS, and it,is not recources hungry. It works well if your internet speed is >100 Mbps
1
u/solda46 Jun 05 '26
That is literally 2 hours of work to set and up and running
1
u/xng Jun 05 '26
I know, I have 4 servers running Arch, one running Ubuntu Server and 2 desktops running windows. I don't like Docker because it's bad, i rather set up user and group and run apps I have direct control over. Trying to remove docker is a mess.
1
u/Snoo-25743 Jun 04 '26
I always hear people say good things about Premiumize, but it's more expensive. Torbox hasn't been perfect, but it's a lot better for me than it was after RD's first fallout. I expect it to stabilize as it grows into the bigger pants.

u/No_Campaign_8020 Jun 06 '26
It could just be umbrella , I moved to POV and haven’t had the issue since

u/Major-Breakfast537 Jun 08 '26
Torbox and real debrid both work for me. I mean. Zi subbed to both for a while just to see and it ends up like 6 bucks a month. Im not sure which I will let die. Lol
0
u/johnFvr Jun 03 '26
Preumize, easynews and usenet.
0
u/xng Jun 03 '26
Does usenet work well with Stremio?
1
u/johnFvr Jun 03 '26
Yes, but you need to self host.
1
1
u/Euphoric_Strength_64 Jun 03 '26
Using easynews with their stremio addons since 2 weeks now. No outage as far as i can tell. No buffering. But i mostly watch 1080p. Can not tell how bigger files would perform.
1
u/xng Jun 03 '26
Do you also selfhost using nzbdav and usenetstreamer?
1
u/Euphoric_Strength_64 Jun 03 '26
No. So far i am contempt with easynews addons +hdhub. Havent really found anything i wanted to watch not available.
1
1
u/Swift_Rz Jun 03 '26
I just signed up to their pro trail 24 hour access an hour ago and 95% of stuff hasn't loaded or buffered. I thought it was junk, so I'm happy to see this. Shame I won't be able to use the trail how to see what it's really like.
1
u/rojod Jun 04 '26
Could try to contact support and explain that you had the trail while they had problems, so didn't got around to test it. Might extend it for you ;)
-2
u/xng Jun 03 '26
But the questions remains, is there anything except these two that usually works? Or is it like chasing ghosts trying to find a mostly stable debrid service nowadays? Retorical questions, kinda.
1
u/Swift_Rz Jun 03 '26
Yeah I got you, that the experiment I've have only just began. I assume the huge influx of customers and the ddos means it isn't a great representation right now for torbox. Only pay for a month and trial and error is my plan. Hopefully things should calm down soon.
1
u/-740 Jun 03 '26
Its not the influx of customers its been rock solid to this point since I moved from RD its the ddos like they say.

Torbox via Torrentio seems to be working fine all the time for me. UK based.
0
u/uSaltySniitch Jun 03 '26
They give time back everytime this happens in my experience. So it's fine.
2
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I mean, it's not the cost that's the issue. I can't get my evening back when I had time to watch something.
0
u/uSaltySniitch Jun 03 '26
Just do something else tbh.
Sports/outside stuff, gaming, whatever.
Your time isn't lost. You just have to spend it elsewhere.
3
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I've been outside all day, and I just wanted to relax and eat something.
The time is lost because you don't immediately know why it doesn't work, so you try to "fix" it. There's no information on the site of what is wrong. They've got a status but it said it was fixed already a few hours ago (in 12 mins, it actually said 11 mins then, but they've added a minute to that report since) and there's not been a problem since tonight. At the time I had dinner made wanting to sit and watch a show. When the addon API stopped being able to reach TB I wrote a browser extension to get the links from their page so I could use TB without the API and less hassle, but then link creation stopped working. Downloading stopped working at the same time. I first thought that I had a bug and went through lots of trial and errors, but then realized that part of the service also broke.
Then I decided that maybe there could be something that actually works, or have less annoying problems at least. So I decided to ask others affected, maybe they have workarounds and other services. That's the post.
When every time you sit down to use something ends up not working correctly you get kind of tired of it. It's not weird to try to find a solution instead of just giving up. People are super sensitive here for some reason. I never had downtime with RD until the big takedown chaos, but trying TB has not been a better experience. It doesn't mean RD didn't have downtime, it just means they didn't when and where I used it.
I'll most likely just create my own solutions instead from now on as nobody really knows a trustworthy debrid service.
I hope you can be understanding that it can be okay to look for solutions when something doesn't work.
1
u/uSaltySniitch Jun 03 '26
That's why I have RD+AD+TB with my self hosted AIO instance, Debridio (TB+RD) and DMM CAST in Stremio. When something is down I have a backup 100% sure.
I also have 120TB+ worth of network mounted server space which I use for my own Plex server. So even if Stremio dies tomorrow I'll be fine.
You need a backup plan if you nevr wanna have to waste time if RD/TB is down. I agree though that TB being down as often as it is recently is a bit annoying.
1
u/xng Jun 03 '26
Omg, that's a lot of space =)
I don't want to need a backup plan or have everything stored, really, I just want to stream it. Maybe download, watch and then discard.
When you use both RD and TB on debridio btw (I have debridio too), do you install it twice in Stremio? Don't you get stuff double then in discover and stuff?
1
u/uSaltySniitch Jun 03 '26
Yes I install Debridio TB and Debridio RD (which means 2 addons). Then I select the source I want in Stremio.
So technically I will get some stuff duplicate, but one is on TB and the other on RD. So if one is down (or if it's an infringing file on RD) I can use Debridio from the other source easily.
They don't appear as duplicate in Discover though. The series appear only once, but when I click to select a specific episode or a movie, it will show all my sources and lotz of available links based on the Regex and other filters I have going on on my addons.
I totally get it btw. Most people don't wanna have to manage or pay for multiple debrid providers or don't wanna have to get storage because it can be expensive. I'm lucky enough to have plenty of money. I basically pay for a lot of services for piracy and privacy. I just don't like paying for big corpo services like Netflix/Amazon/Etc if I don't have to and if the experience is better elsewhere (Remux>Netflix quality).
2
u/xng Jun 03 '26
I'm thinking of trying AD next anyways, a month to see if it sucks =) if it does maybe TorBox will have fixed their things since the big influx of ex RD users by then.
1
u/WildNight00 Jun 03 '26
How’s the AllDebrid catch?
I had RD as my main and TB as back up but with RD seemingly going extinct I’m wanting to switch to AD as my back up and use TB as my main
Also what’s the reason for DMM Cast? You just find the magnet link on a torrent site and download it?
0
u/vishab45 Jun 03 '26
It's back for me just now
0
0
u/neagle16 Jun 03 '26
It’s “almost always down” implies it down more than it actually works. How accurate is this statement?
I’m looking to move from RD and still haven’t decided on TorBox or an alternative.
1
u/Untimely_manners Jun 03 '26
I've had tb past month and it's never been down for me however I work full time and live in Australia so being at work plus the time zone difference might work in my favour.
1
u/MasterClu Jun 03 '26
It's a BS statement and they are being beyond overly dramatic. Their uptime is roughly around 97-98%. Try not to listen to bitter people.
0
u/xng Jun 03 '26
It's probably not accurate if you consider all 24 hours of the day, but the times in the last 2 weeks that I've had time to watch something there's always been a problem.
0
u/HeydoIDKu Jun 04 '26
Hmm I’ve had a 58 episode list on auto cache and it went fine over the today. I’ve never had an issue between tb with Usenet and premiumize. I suspect it’s your setup
0
u/Intelligent-Ad-7816 Jun 04 '26
Still using RD everything I've watched tonight plays on the first link I've opened

How? The Torbox Devs themselves have confirmed it's down completely due to an attack

u/Agile_Beyond_6025 Jun 03 '26
In their defense the issue they are seeing isn't really their fault. They are actively being attacked. They are getting hit with a DDoS attack.
Even companies like Netflix have been taken down by these.
