New IKEA Home Smart app has just dropped in to the Apple App Store FYI. Don’t know what it has changed yet although it says you can get temperature and humidity notifications

I bought two of these devices and tried using them with both the Google hub and the IKEA hub (DIRIGERA).

With the DIRIGERA hub, response times are faster, but in both cases, after a few minutes, the device goes offline.

There's no way to recover it other than pulling the batteries and reinserting them after a few seconds.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue?

I run ZigBee and Thread but was just wondering what people's experiences have been like running kajplats bulbs on ZigBee.

Right now I'm using matter over thread for all of my IKEA devices but I'm tempted to try running some of the bulbs over ZigBee to take advantage of direct binding in the event of a server outage via z2m whilst having advanced control when all is working well. Has anybody tried this setup and is there any disadvantage to running these over ZigBee despite having to put it in the correct mode?

As my title suggests, I would like to waterproof a MYGGBETT door sensor, too use on my garden gate. Does anyone have experience or any suggestions?

At the moment I have just covered the main unit in a small plastic sandwich bag tied into a knot and clicked it into the holder. Which is working fine in the rain, but it looks ugly and a bit stupid...

I don't have a 3D printer, as I did see some 3D models for casing online. So I might look into having something printed for me through a service. I also thought about using silicone caulk to close the outside seams of the device to water, but that seems a bad/easily botched idea.

Bought a bilresa dimmer switch ages ago, I remember it being a pain to pair at the start but somehow I managed it (in the Ikea app on iOS and linked to HomeKit), and it's been working fine for several months.

Last night it stopped responding. Changed the batteries (although both were 1.48v) just in case, nope nothing. Reset it, and now it won't wait again in the Ikea app or Apple Home app.

Maybe it's because I'm running iOS 27 developer beta so maybe it will re-pair when I upgrade the rest of the home stuff to 27 in a few weeks.

I tried rebooting the Apple TV, router, Dirigera etc. Even tried disabling IGMP snooping as some people say that works. Nothing has so far. Just times out every time and says unable to connect it.

I recently ran into issues with my ikea lamps when I bought some new ones and couldn't add them to the setup. I have a mix of zigbee and matter over thread bulbs and the dirigera hub. There is no issue with the zigbee bulbs and before I didnt have any issue with connecting the matter over thread bulbs. But when I wanted to add new ones recently I could not connect and add them to the ikea smart app. It will find the product without issues and it will connect and generate matter without failure but it will get stuck on connecting to thread. Stupid as I am I rebooted the thread on the hub and even now the previous connected matter over thread bulds won't connect.

I have gone through this whole page, read and did all the recommended fixes. I started even studying the IPV6 and mDNS etc. I literally tried everything that people have said and nothing worked.

I think the issue is my router and the connected dirigera hub. Because as of today I separated the two thread border routers (my google nest hub and dirigera hub), then I connected my ikea bulds to Google nest instead and it worked fine and it connected very quick. But with the dirigera hub it can't connect to its thread. I even downloaded a thread tool app and it says my network can't connect to the thread border router (ikea dirigera). But has no issue with the google nest. As soon I connect the thread mesh with google and ikea together again I can't add any new device to ikea nor google thread border router.

It feels like there is an issue with the Ikeas thread border router and my network is blocking the ikea thread border router or opposite around. Can any one make sense of this and how to fix it?

I also wanted to add when I first bought and connected everything I had a different internet provider and different router. I had tp-link before and today i have zyxel ee3301-00.

I am renovating my new home and I want to set it up with a relatively simple IKEA Smart Home for the lighting. I don't want to use the BILRESA wireless switches, rather I want my wired light switches to work with the smart system, along with my phone.

Google told me to buy the Zigbee ZBminiL2 to make my light switches smart, but I'm not convinced that it will actually work in the way that I want it to, because Gemini keeps changing its story. I'm kinda lost.

I just want the light switches to turn on a group of lights and I want to be able to adjust the warmth on my phone. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’ve had MYGGBETT sensors in my cart for weeks waiting for them to be restocked in my area and noticed my cart total increased significantly suddenly.

20-50% increased in price while being not even being in stock consistently nationwide, it’s not looking good. Ever since the release of the Thread products, my store has only had the bulbs, the plugs, and remotes. None of the other matter products have even made their way yet.

Still some of the cheapest sensors and such on the market but disappointing nevertheless.

So i did a reset on my Iphone, and i thought that i could just login, and then we were all friends again.... but i cant find the option to login ? and the app will not find the diagera, everything is still setup in Apple home and works, but i need acces to setup up new things. is a reset the only way on the Diagera?

Hi all -- I have learned a ton from this subreddit and now have my own question, as I am finding Ikea's own materials (including in-store) to be confusing/lacking. Here's my scenario:

• I have an existing reach-in closet, and want to have lighting that a) automatically lights up when I open the closet doors, and b) can be dimmed.
• All the lights should operate as one. I plan to have overhead lights (for things like shirt rods) and cabinet/shelf-specific lights.
• I went ahead and bought one of everything I think I need to do this, and can return/buy more to complete the setup. So far I have:
  • OVERSIDIAN 18" strip
  • MISSMYRA 22" strip (got both to experiment with each)
  • 30W TRADFRI driver
  • ANSLUTA power supply cord
  • MYGGSPRAY motion sensor
• My plan is to have the strip-style lights for individual shelves and something like MITTLED for overhead lights.

Questions:

1. Will this combination of pieces work together? I believe I can pair the MYGGSPRAY directly to the TRADFRI driver without the need for a hub.
2. If I want to dim all the lights together, how do I do that? Can I pair a dimmer to it?

I realize some of this is older tech but I am having a hard time finding the Matter equivalent to all of this. If there's a better solution, please educate me!

Hi, just bought some smart products from IKEA, including Matter over Thread E26 and E10 bulbs and the new Varmblixt. I’ve also purchased the Dirigera Hub.

My issue is that everything BUT the new Varmblixt and Bilresa (which come together) are pairing to the IKEA home app. The app successfully detects each of the two items but gets stuck during the pairing process before inevitably giving me the pairing failed message.

I’ve tried factory resetting Varmblixt (holding power for 10 ish seconds), doing 6 sets of power cycling, and factory resetting the Bilresa. Neither is pairing still. Like I said I had no issues with the other items, my wifi is set up as a 2.4gHz network, and pairing was seamless otherwise. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi, i have noticed that the smaller version of the light is no longer available and for the bigger versions ikea cz and pl show “last chance to buy”. Matter version hopefully coming very soon:)

My first setup of several IKEA matter devices was through a Dirigera hub, using the IKEA home smart app, about 3 months ago. I then set up the Dirigera in Apple home and my IKEA devices all appeared in Apple home. When I added new devices via the IKEA app, they showed up in Apple Home automatically. After a recent hub update, this has stopped happening. I reinstalled the whole setup and now, when I add the Dirigera hub to Apple h9me, none of the devices on the Dirigera hub show up on Apple home. Is this a result of the update in Dirigera hub firmware or is there a new process for connecting the hub to Apple Home that I’ve missed?

I've had my two matter bulbs since January and after some initial issues - had two random disconnects - everything has been fine for last six months.

I only use it in home kit and also have the old tradfri hub with couple of lights and switches. Some philips bulbs with a hue bridge.

Everything works just fine.

i’m really upset because i got these bulbs under the impression that they could easily change color with just a remote. i’m happy to buy the remote separately but do you need a hub or whatever to use them and change the color?? i feel like this is so dumb because it doesn’t disclose any of this on the packaging :( pls help

I'm having mechanical fit issues with Kajplats E14 candelabra bulbs. Purchased at IKEA Netherlands to replace some old E14 bulbs of the same style. In three different lamps, I have problems with the mechanical fit. In two of the lamps, I was able to get the light to stay on reliably by leaving it about 1/2 turn looser than normal. In the third, I can't get it to stay on at all unless I press it to one side with my hand. Has anyone else seen this issue? I wonder if this is a bad manufacturing batch. These three lamps are all older, from various manufacturers and vintages, and all worked fine with the old 'dumb' bulbs, which also happened to be IKEA brand.

I bought a few IKEA MYGGBETT window sensors earlier this year right after release, but they’re proving to be completely unreliable in Home Assistant.

I tried setting up an alarm using the Alarmo integration, but shortly after arming it, false alarms keep triggering. The sensors report "micro-openings" that last only a few seconds, even though all windows are fully closed and locked (and I’m not even home).

This happens across multiple sensors, several times a day.

Has anyone else experienced these brief ghost-openings with MYGGBETT sensors? Is there a known fix, or did I just get a bad batch?

I have a dirigera hub for 2 years or so, that's the first time I bought IKEA matter products. As I am trying to add them, it's saying it is impossible to add them to thread network and check if the products are compatible. Any idea to solve this? Thank you
