UPDATE: the free cookbook has been corrected and a new version is now live 🌿

There's a new version of the free cookbook, and it's the one you want. If you grabbed it before today, this one replaces it — the dosing is spelled out properly now, recipe by recipe. Everything's in the sidebar and in my pinned comment below. Edit 8/29: WE'VE RUN INTO SOME HOSTING ISSUES. NEW RELEASE IS DELAYED FOR ANOTHER COUPLE DAYS UNFORTUNATELY.

Here's what happened.

A few day back u/Illustrious-Boss5764 asked in the megathread how much oil actually goes into the Everyday Bears. I went to answer it and found out the book never says. Not in that recipe, and not in a lot of the others. Every recipe told you what to aim for and never printed the one line of arithmetic that gets you there.

So I pulled the launch. Nothing went out. I spent the days after that going through all one hundred recipes, one at a time, rebuilding how the whole flipping book handles dose.

What's different now:

  • There's a House Batch — one infusion standard, two numbers, printed up front. Make your oil that way and every recipe in the book turns into math you can do in your head.
  • Every single recipe prints a total for the batch, not just a target per piece. That's the number that actually protects you.
  • If your oil isn't the House Batch, there's a conversion — one number, one line, done.
  • The tiny-dose recipes now tell you how to make a weak dilution, so you're measuring on a real spoon instead of eyeballing drops.
  • There's a sugar-free guide in there now too — where the swaps work easily (drinks, oats, and gummies, which are the happy surprise), where they need care (baked goods want allulose or an erythritol blend plus a little extra fat), and where it honestly can't be done this way (hard candy isn't sugar with flavour in it, it's boiled sugar being the candy). Your dose math doesn't change either way.

And then he did the thing that really got me. He didn't take the win and leave. He sent me his brownies — from scratch, frosting and all, a recipe he's been making for years — and mentioned, cheerfully, that he'd never once made them infused because he started with gummies and worked backwards like nobody does.

They're in the book now as The Proofreader's Brownies, credited to him, printed the way he wrote them with our math laid over the top — a little dosed butter, the rest plain, and none at all in the frosting. There's a story on that page. You'll know it when you get there.

Both editions also picked up a proper table of contents and page numbers, which they should have had from the start.

Oh — and the Society tees exist now, if anyone's been waiting on those. Four designs: the Gummy, the Leaf, the Brownie, and the wordmark, with r/treedibles across the back. They're on the site with everything else. The book's still the point... the shirts are just there... if you want one... or want to support us, or just have a comfy sleep shirt.

u/Illustrious-Boss5764 — thank you, brother. Nugs and hugs.

Thanks to a few of you who've been writing in with catches, questions and typos. This is genuinely how it's supposed to work! 🌿

After 15 years, we made a cookbook. 40 recipes free for the sub, here it is 🌿

UPDATE — August 23, 2026: The free cookbook has been corrected and re-uploaded. A reader caught that our recipes named a dosed ingredient without ever saying how much to use. Every recipe now prints a total for the batch, there's a House Batch standard up front, and there's a conversion for oil that isn't ours. Both editions also gained a proper table of contents and page numbers. If you grabbed it before today, this version replaces it. Full write-up in today's post.

Hey fam bam,

Fifteen years. That's how long this community has been the coziest corner of the internet for people who'd rather make their edibles than buy a mystery gummy from a guy named Chad (habibi Chad you know I love you). So we finally did the thing: we put it in a book.

The Cozy Cookbook — original recipes, every one with the dosing baked right in, written in the spirit this place has always had: no gatekeeping, no judgment, start low and go slow. Hand-illustrated, a little witty, and genuinely useful whether it's your first batch or your five-hundredth.

Here's how it works, because you all come first:

🆓 The free 40 — forty recipes, hand-illustrated, yours for nothing. Read it in your browser or save the PDF.

📕 The full 100 (Master Edition) — all 100 recipes plus a dosing primer. Paperback coming soon for the shelf-worthy version.

👉 Both are linked in the sidebar, under The Cozy Cookbook.

The 40 free recipes are a real gift to the sub, not a teaser. But if you grab the 100, you're helping the sub for new activities and guides, and whatever we build next. Either way, you're the reason this exists.

Made something great from it? Post it. Tag your dose. Help the next person do it right same as always.

How to make edibles and leave as less as smell as possible

I'm thinking of making edibles for the first time, thinking of brownies because they're easier. I live in an apartment in a country where it's strictly illegal so i need to master the art of masking the smells.

What's the easiest way to do that will work but won't produce intense smell

Ardent fx or instant pot or oven?

Im starting my journey on edible making for personal use, i want it to be easy to use and clean if possible. But where do i start? Ive also been reading “How to eat weed and have a good time by Vanessa Lavorato”

Ive quit all smoking products due to a passing of a loved one from lung cancer, ive stopped my bong rips and cigarettes. Im only smoking dabs now for the past 2 months and i wanna move on to edibles.

Thank you for reading and replying to anyone who does!

Hi question on how many mg I should take for my first edible after not smoking for a year?

I’m 23m around 150 pounds and I’ve smoked pens before but since I moved back to my parents house they forbid smoking so I’m switching to edibles I live in Texas and they say 10mg is legal.

So should I take a 10mg gummies and see or should I split it in half or fourths since it’s my first time in a while?

I’ve heard stories of people taking 10mg and tripping out so should 5mg or even 2.5 be fine?

And how long should the high last?

People say it usually takes 30 min to 2 hours to kick in and last up to 8. Can it last longer or less?

When I hit my pen it usually lasted a couple hours.

I normally make my gummies with 1/2 cup apple
Juice, 1/4 cup light corn syrup, two small packs ( .25oz ) packs of plain gelatin, and one pack of flavored jello ( 3-4oz depending what kind I buy). Obviously the FECO, lecithin, and citric acid, and some flavoring oil as well but i think that part is kind of irrelevant here. That recipe yields about 90-100 gummies using these molds.

This bag says it makes 13 servings at 17 gummies each which is 221 gummies. Why is there 18oz of gelatin mix here and somehow it only makes that many gummies? I get almost half of that amount using 3.5-4.5oz of gelatin in my normal recipe as mentioned above. I wanna use this stuff but something seems off. Any suggestions on what I’m missing here are much appreciated.

How does my butter look?

Post image
16 Upvotes

So I decarb it in the air fryer for 20-25 mins on bake option at 120c. I check on it every 5-10mins to avoid over heating since i can't go another lower then 120

I then let it simmer in a hot pot with my butter around 150-200g for an hour I try not let it boil and take it off the heat before it can.

While it's simmering I like to stir it non stop with only a few short breaks.

I then put it in a pot and freezer for 15-20 mins.

I'm currently making salted caramel cupcakes with this

Stay tuned ❤️

How can I make homemade THC capsules kick in more predictably? Sometimes 1h, sometimes 4–5h

I quit smoking/vaping about a month ago and switched to edibles because I want to stay away from inhaling anything.

I’ve been making cannabis capsules with infused coconut oil. I decarb at 115°C/240°F for ~40 min, then infuse 10g flower into 50ml coconut oil. Based on my calculations, each capsule is around 35mg THC.

Two caps gets me roughly where I want to be.
The problem is the onset is wildly inconsistent.
I’ve started logging the time I take them and what/when I eat. A few examples:

Morning/noon: 2 caps + light breakfast (yoghurt, Weetabix, coffee) → noticeable after ~2h, peak around 3–3.5h.
Noon: 2 caps + 3 sandwiches → noticeable after ~1h, peak after 2–3h.
Another noon: 2 caps + light meal→ noticeable after ~1–1.5h, peak around 2h.
Evening: 2 caps at 19:45 followed by heavy dinner→ absolutely nothing at 22:40, then suddenly around 23:40 I’m at an 8/10.

I’ve even had evening doses where I barely noticed anything, only to wake up the next day still buzzed, so I’m guessing they kicked in extremely late during the night.

The pattern I’m sort of seeing is that daytime doses often kick in within 1–2h, while evening doses can randomly take 4+ hours. Taking them ~15 min before dinner doesn’t seem to fix it.

I bought lecithin and plan to add it directly to my next batch. I’m also wondering about food: would taking the capsules with a small/light meal be more predictable than taking them fasted or with a large meal, even though the THC is already infused into coconut oil?

For people experienced with homemade capsules: is there anything you’ve found that makes the onset more consistent? Meal size/timing, fat content, lecithin, timing since previous meal, preparations method, etc.?
I’d mainly like to make the timing more predictable.
Any tips or experiences appreciated!

Infused MCT oil in capsules

So I'm trying to move away from making gummies to medicate. I plan to infuse some flower into MCT oil and put into capsules.

Im still learning about thia stuff and hoped I could ask some advice from more experienced heads on here.

I buy several different strains at a time so I have 40g sitting here and would love to do 3 separate smaller batches of oil. (I used to throw 30g into 1 cup of oil for infusion)

The strains i have are:

20g Gorilla Kush

10g Minted Grape

10g Hash Burger

If I make these into 3 batches, how much oil should I be using to infuse the 10g pot and 20g pot?

Thank you in advance for any help

I have

Sugar , water , xantham gum , sunflower lenchin softgels , citric acid in crystal form ,
Food coloring , cooking thermometer , measuring syringe amd 10’ thc gummies containing 10mg thc and 15mg cbd

I want to make a thc syrup of 100ml with a good shelf life that would be poured into sodas like sprite and fanta using those materials with a green hue and the viscosity of watery light honey and I would also like it to avoid cause fizzyiness on the drinks

Is it possible? And theres anyone that can guide me through it 😅

Dosages for private multi course dinners?

As a chef that has somewhat perfected making edibles, I've been kicking around the idea of offering privately catered dinner parties where each course is infused. Probably with wine/bourbon pairings.

I have an extremely high tolerance to edibles. How would I even begin to decide on dosing for each course? (I would obviously label each course with the dosage, so people are aware and can make their own choices.... But I would like to handle dosaging appropriately enough that each person can enjoy each course, yet without getting too blitzed, yet also feel like they got their money's worth.

I know this exists, and is not a new idea, however I am in a "illegal" state, so it's not exactly out there. Appreciate any input or personal experience with such!
