I know this sounds stupid but why are the captains drenched in blood? is it the blood of their enemies or something else? I know it has something to do leviathan but I forgot, and is the second photo official art

In case you were waiting too for Carcass Front to reach your local friendly store, we are going to need to be a bit more patient.

Planning to make a squad of 5 with different weapon options, so I’m open to any suggestions or weapon ideas!

I've been working on this terrain off and on all week.
The Temple and scaffolding are by Hexbrick.
The Trenches are from Printable Scenery.
I think it's shaping up to be a good place to, you know, have a little Crusade.

I am thinking doing the Holy Roman Empire next. This is the prototype so far…
Ideas for army:
Kaiserliche or Imperial Army of Kaiser:
The Kaiserliche, or Imperial Army of the Kaiser, are the elite troops of the Holy Roman Empire, dispatched by order of the new Emperor to serve wherever the Empire’s greatest threats emerge.
Unlike ordinary Imperial soldiers, the Kaiserliche are provided with specially formulated diets developed by the Mendelist Order. These carefully engineered rations are designed to maximize the body’s efficiency, improving the soldiers’ strength, endurance, recovery, and resistance to fatigue to peak humanity. Combined with rigorous training and superior equipment, this makes the Kaiserliche among the most capable soldiers in the Imperial military.
-Field Marshal (Lieutenant Variant)
Senior battlefield commanders of the Kaiserliche. Field Marshals are veteran officers entrusted with directing Imperial forces during major engagements. They coordinate formations, issue orders, and maintain battlefield discipline even under the most chaotic conditions.
-Cannon Priest (Sniper Priest Variant)
Followers of the Order of Saint Barbara, the Cannon Priests are specialized marksmen trained to operate the Order’s enormous anti-materiel cannons.
These weapons are specifically designed to destroy heavily armored targets, fortifications, and monstrous entities that ordinary firearms cannot reliably penetrate. Cannon Priests combine the precision of a sniper with the destructive power of field artillery, making them invaluable against the Empire’s most heavily protected enemies.
-Heavy Gothic Infantry: (Heavy Mechanized Infantry Variant)
A heavier and more durable variant of the Imperial Heavy Mechanized Infantry. Heavy Gothic Infantry are encased in reinforced Gothic-pattern armor and equipped with enhanced mechanical systems, allowing them to withstand punishment that would cripple ordinary soldiers.
Slow but exceptionally resilient, they are deployed as assault troops, defensive anchors, and shock infantry wherever the Kaiserliche require a unit capable of advancing directly through overwhelming enemy fire.
I am looking for ideas and suggestions to refine it further.

I know I’m asking this in the wrong place but don’t know if I’m 100% on board with this yet. Any tips to improve would appreciated.

The STLs for the knights have a little extra lore in their store entry.
"Unlike their peers in other orders, the Knights of Saint Lazarus did not join with the industrial feudalist societies of the Crusader Knights, instead disbanding and scattering to continue upholding their charism of caring for those afflicted by leprosy, conflict, or privation. Wandering warbands of these famed Leper-Knights can be seen on many battlefronts, often almost indistinguishable from the larger Pilgrim Processions that follow in their wake. However, what they lack in resources, they make up in chivalry, resilience, and the devotion of their would-be pilgrim squires."
That implies that they are indeed Crusader Knights (the future faction of "super warriors") but they choose not to be together, but to scatter and help diverse bands of pilgrims as the giga chads they are.
Also the tidbit of "industrial feudalist societies" of the Crusader Knights is interesting.
That's all, i just wanted to share this finding 🧐
EDIT: Well, Tuomas confirmed that they abandoned the crusader orders BEFORE the new rites took place. So the Leper Knights are NOT super human warriors like the other crusader knights. They are confirmed as "normal" knights.

Temple of the Blood Sun Kickstarter has entered its final 48 hours.
The project is a collection of 32mm grimdark STL miniatures inspired by Japanese mythology, warrior monks, samurai, shrine imagery, and darker supernatural themes.
While the set is its own setting, a lot of the models were designed with grimdark skirmish games in mind, so they can work well as alternative characters, mercenaries, cultists, pilgrims, or as the basis for a custom Trench Crusade warband.
All miniatures come as supported and unsupported STL files for resin printing.
If you’ve been following the project, this is the last chance to join before the campaign ends:
