Triumph info Longshot
Has anyone in New Zealand managed to get their 2024-2025 street triple 765RS tuned without buying a power commander or the likes?

Great pic dude! Do you have a Kelpi seat cover on there?
If so, care to share you’re experience with it? I’m eyeing one for my own Bumblebee.

Yes sir! I absolutely love it, visual difference is incredible, quality is amazing and the team that work there are absolutely fantastic. Have done a bit of work with them and they are all brilliant. Would highly recommend it.

I just put an order in for a cover for mine last week! Also, I went with the handheld tuner from BT Moto to tune my bike, '24 765 RS. All stock still as well but love the tune. I'm thinking of getting an exhaust this year and since I have the tuner all I have to do is tell them what exhaust I went with and they will give me a new map for a retuning fee. They were super quick to get me the original tune after I got the handheld as well. Less than 24 hour turnaround on the weekend.

Oh wow, okay maybe that is the go. Was the difference noticeable after the tune? I have read sooo much about terrible fueling/throttle stock, and that the tunes are night and day difference in feel

There was a very noticeable difference. Most notable being the throttle response and engine braking. Throttle feels a lot more responsive, especially from stop and the engine braking is much lighter. I noticed it pulled harder in the midrange as well. You can have the rpm limit raised if you want, I didn't because I don't track the bike so I didn't feel I needed the additional revs. The tune also removes speed and throttle limits. Apparently the throttle is limited to 88% on RS models and 80% on the R. They claim an additional 8HP to the ground over stock. Even without any HP gains I would say the tune was well worth it with how much better the bike feels while riding.

What made you choose the BT Moto tune? I was on the fence and ended up going with 2Wheel Dyno Works. I haven’t shipped my ECU out yet, though. I also have a Leo Vince full system on the way for my ‘25 RS.

To be honest, laziness. I didn't want to have to take the ECU off the bike and mail it out. I liked the idea of the handheld tuner that I plug into the obd port on the bike myself to upload the tune. Also if I did anything to the bike that needs a retune I don't have to repeat the whole process.

Fair enough. I was thinking about the same thing and decided that pulling out the ECU wasn’t that big of a deal since I don’t really have any plans to do any other mods that would require a retune. An exhaust and gutting the intake are really the only mods I intend to do and will have those done by the next riding season.

Just got mine in red last month so thinking about the same! I feel like the exhaust options are also a bit limited here

They are, and all extremely expensive too… I got very lucky, two days after buying the bike someone had listed delkevic headers for $200NZD

2 Wheel Dyno Works in the US can tune the 24+ bikes. So can BT-Moto.

that was my thought as well. i wonder if new zealand ECU's are different than US ECU's though. i have a 2 wheel dyno works tune on mine and it's great.
OP, wouldn't hurt to throw them an email. they're great to work with.
here's their youtube. buncha triumph stuff on there and will give you their contact info

Is there anything you don’t like about the 2WDW tune? I love the idea that Nate “dailies” a 765, so I figure he is invested in the platform. I also have similar mods to his personal bike (Leo Vince full system and a gutted intake)

so far so good. i'm also running the Leo and gutted intake purely based on his development and dyno videos. bike runs great

Exactly what convinced me to go that route. How much louder is the LV than stock, and does the bike still aggressively engine brake after the tune?
1
u/grapemustard Dec 05 '25
the noise isn't too bad at all. i'm not a big fan of super loud bikes.
i don't think i'd call it aggressive engine braking. very smooth.

Did the LV come with two O2 sensor plugs? What did you do with the factory plug? Just leave the sensor unplugged and the connector loose?
Still trying to decide whether I want to spend the money on the Smart Moto AIS and O2 delete kits or just stuff a marble in the AIS hose and leave the connector dangling.

Does it come factory in that colour?
I have a 2009 in burnt matte orange colour which is my fav

Just the best looking bike!
I noticed the fairing looks different to the generation of your bike. May I ask for the details of that part? I own a 2022 model RS and I want to change it to the latest generation look.

God damn these are really growing on me. Might go for a 675r as there’s a nice one for 45 near me

BT-Moto offers a handheld tuner if you aren't trying to send in your ECU. Not sure about a NZ ECU, but worth a shot.

Which carbon foot scuff guards did you go with? I like that they match the carbon tip accent.

These were off Ali, quality is so so, I didn’t want to shell out heaps for a basic part so happy enough

Lonelec obd adaptor and Tune ECU app on a smartphone. Otherwise someone with a dyno can tune it for you.

u/rego911 Dec 03 '25
The ECU on the 23-24 are locked by euro5 and notoriously hard to get into. The few tuners I’ve spoken to here have said don’t try as you will brick the ecu. I’ve so far only seen a few in the US that have cracked them

Power Commanders are for old school bikes. Either find a local tuner that uses Woolich software or contact and purchase a Rapidbike Evo auto tune.
