As you know, Mercator distortion changes how big countries appear on the map. So I moved the biggest countries to the equator, where there’s no distortion, so you can finally see their true size!

You can now search for countries, states, and regions on TrueSize.net using names in different languages and writing systems.
For example:
This is another step toward making TrueSize easier to use around the world. Full interface localization is planned for later, but search now already understands many non-English place names.
The feature is available on the web now and will come to the mobile apps with the next update.

We’re excited to finally release TrueSize Mobile 2.0!
The old mobile app had a much more limited feature set than the website and could struggle with performance as TrueSize continued to grow.
So we decided not to just keep patching it. We completely rebuilt the mobile app from scratch.
This was a huge amount of work, but it allowed us to make the app much faster, smoother, more stable, and bring mobile much closer to feature parity with TrueSize.net.
Some of the biggest additions:
🌍 750,000+ regions to explore, move, and compare
🚩 40,000+ flags, including historical regions
✂️ Divide & Merge tools
📏 Measurement tools with true geodesic distance and bearing
🗺️ Historical regions and many other features previously available only on the web
⚡ Major performance and stability improvements
📱 A completely redesigned interface built around the much larger feature set
And there’s a lot more included in the rewrite.
This is by far the biggest update we’ve ever made to the mobile app, and it also gives us a much better foundation for future improvements.
A lot of what made it into this release came directly from community feedback, so thank you to everyone who has been using TrueSize, reporting issues, submitting flags, and suggesting new features.

Another batch of new flags has just been published! As always, thank you for submitting so many great flags and helping us keep improving TrueSize. ❤️
We also moved the Find by Flag button from the home screen to the Tools tab in the menu, where it should be easier to find alongside the other map tools.

Another community-requested feature is now live! TrueSize now supports 300+ seas and bays around the world. 🌊
Thank you to everyone in the community who suggested adding them!
Some of the boundaries are not perfect yet, especially for geographic features where the exact boundary can be a little subjective or datasets differ (like Baltic). If you spot something that looks wrong, please feel free to fix it and submit a correction. Community contributions are a huge help, and we’ll also continue improving the boundaries ourselves over time.
As always, keep the suggestions coming - a lot of what we add comes directly from your ideas!
