This whole situation makes me sick to my stomach. I can't imagine having to uproot your whole family and then having to be forced back into a war zone. Hopefully they can find a place that will take them like Hungary if they can't stay here. I remember when I was in Budapest they had Ukrainian welcome centers that will help Ukrainians get situated.

Start calling it a regime. They don't administer anything.

26

u/wandpapierkritiker 23h ago

they administer a lot of heartache and pain for the non billionaire class…

Fuck Republicans - child raping corrupt vicious stupid greedy assholes the lot of them - or, to be fair, some are just people that support child raping corrupt vicious stupid greedy assholes for fun.

Which almost seems worse than being a child raping corrupt vicious stupid greedy asshole, doesn't it?

And how many of them are the current president of the United States?

3

u/Jonnyscout 8h ago

Oooh! I know!

None of them.

Trump's name is mentioned more times in the epstein files than Harry Potter in all of his books or God/The Lord and Jesus in the Bible combined. Now add them together another 30 times. Still more times than that. The only name in the Epstein Files mentioned more than Trump's is Epstein. Trump is mentioned more than Ghislaine fucking Maxwell.

We're not nearly mad enough.

Whataboutism aside, dems don’t fight against making 18 the age of consent/marriage

I don’t understand how constantly fucking with all these different groups of people does anything to make the lives of MAGA voters one iota better in any tangible way.

MAGA voters must really be the absolute dumbest cruelest shittiest people on earth.

u/Duxtrous 1d ago edited 22h ago

It doesn't change their lives at all, but the big man on the television told them it will. There is no thought with these policies and the observation is as shallow as it seems. It's just mass manipulation.

Ukraine is seen as a Democrat issue, therefore Ukrainians bad.

Remember when the Russians and communists were the bad guys....?

Hey - wait a second...

🧐🤔

u/earthman34 1d ago

When you're a shitty person with no creativity, intelligence, or useful ideas, your only real outlet is reveling in the misery and suffering of others. That's what MAGA does, basically. I remember reading, a long time ago, something by a person who lived through the Nazi era in Germany, before WW2. They said that the Nazis never had an actual plan or political program. What they had was grievances and hate, exactly like Trump/MAGA. That was their program, that's what they ran on. Trump's entire 2nd term is based on grievances and hatred of immigrants, "liberals", LGBT, and now, they've even dragged out communism as a bogeyman.

Far right politicians have pushed the narrative that immigrants are the cause of most of the problems a nation faces for decades upon decades and using propaganda and things are able to persuade people that that is true even though there is no evidence that immigrants are the problem nor the fact that once the immigrants are removed their lives have never once gotten better.

The Nazis did it as have many other far right systems. Fascism requires that there be groups to blame for the problems facing society and immigrants make an easy scapegoat for them.

24

u/Gasman18 1d ago

MAGA voters want other people to suffer more than them, not to reduce their own suffering or improve anything.

It seems that the EU will stop accepting Ukrainian men of conscription age (25-60) this coming March unless they can prove they left Ukraine legally, or can prove they already served in the war and were discharged.

They seem pretty cool about it, all things considered. That must’ve been awful living here during the ICE invasion. Says they’re self-deporting to help their chances of being able to return in the future. Hope they can find somewhere in Europe in the meantime, like they said.

In 64 days we all get the chance to undo some fatal damage that has been done to good people in good communities.

Minnesota is my home, and it is a place that welcomes those from all backgrounds (except for the cunts in ICE or Donny Dumpy Pant’s shit stained administration).

To those of you who live here (and who want to live here) and who actually love your neighbors, get ready to do some good work for our friends and neighbors.

To those of you who have invaded my home with your weak, feckless, and cowardly hate? Get the fuck out of MY home, away from MY friends and neighbors. YOU ain’t welcome, and in 64 days time I’m sure us real Minnesotans will show you exactly what we mean.

I Love you friends, stand tall, stand proud 👊 🖤

Hes turned our welcoming country into a danger zone for the disenfranchised, the refugees

3

u/OkTechnologyb 21h ago

Really sad.

4

u/PostIronicPosadist Kingfield 1d ago edited 23h ago

We're partially responsible for getting them into this war, we should be at the very least partially responsible for the refugees the war has inevitably created. That's American fascism to a tee however; never taking responsibility for their own actions and demanding everyone else take responsibility instead. It's like if "nuh uh" were an ideology.

This trump admin has ruined republican party, trump dragged all of the republicans to hell with him.

5

u/Oh__Archie 22h ago edited 21h ago

And yet they would still vote for him again.

Edit: 100% welcome the downvotes but damn, did it really need to take you all 10 years to figure this one out?!?

2

u/itsamamaluigi 8h ago

The Republican party has been rotten since way before Trump. He just gave them permission to be open about how awful they are.

5

u/lazys_world 20h ago

Republicans were always bad. They have always wanted to ruin the lives of working people in pursuit of the interests of the elite.

Y'all can say it. Who cares if you sound "biased".

1

u/RainbowBullsOnParade 5h ago

The republican party was a violent, racist, fascist shitstain for decades before Trump arrived. All he did was give them what they always wanted: a dictator.

2

u/TruckStopSigns 1d ago

Horrible.

Why hate immigrants

u/Significant-Mind-964 40m ago

PSA - Tiger Plumbing Heating & Air (his employer) is very MAGA. They were listed on Public Square at one point and that's when I stopped using them. Kind of ironic in this case.

For those not in the know - Public Square was a very pro MAGA and Conservative business listing platform that businesses put themselves onto. Do not use Tiger or their services if you don't want to support that.

Anecdotally, one of the worst HVAC companies I've ever dealt with for pricing. Fuck Tiger.

That husband will literally be rounded up and thrown into a van within the opening week of him returning to Ukraine. It is brutal what they are doing to young men over there. She will likely be a single mother in a few years.

6

u/glizard-wizard 19h ago

The projection that comes out of Russian propaganda is honestly shameless

-1

u/NytronX 17h ago

Oh snap, really? CBS News is owned by Israel though, don't they prefer Ukraine? Maybe this one didn't get visibility on Bari Weiss's desk?

2

u/glizard-wizard 17h ago

Your lack of ability to understand what Im saying is telling

-2

u/NytronX 16h ago

Oh you're saying I'm the propagandist? Nah, I was ride or die with Ukraine until zelenski started aligning with netanyahu and all these clips on social media of men in vans abducting  young Ukrainian men. The same thing is also probably happening in Russia. That entire war is just to lose-lose situation. There is no good side bad side anymore. It's very muddy. It's a disaster. I don't have a dog in that race.

0

u/LordsofDecay 18h ago

No he won't. This is Russian propaganda on a Minnesota subreddit fucks sake.

It’s good they’re returning, Ukraine has major manpower shortage and needs the workers.

39

u/SingleVertebra 1d ago

Do you read the article? They don’t want to go to an active conflict zone

-66

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

It’s necessary though

44

u/Thehealthygamer 1d ago

You go fight there if you think its so necessary, rather than volunteering others to go die in a war. They're accepting foreign volunteers.

-36

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

I agree the west should do more. That doesn’t mean this isn’t also good. I’ve donated a lot of money, personally.

29

u/ProfessionalActive94 1d ago

You should go fight instead. Don't advocate for others to fight when you are unwilling.

-3

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

I’m not saying he has to enlist. I’m saying Ukraine needs his contribution to GDP more than the US does.

18

u/Thehealthygamer 1d ago

So, you're not willing to go fight in this "necessary war" in which you're happy to volunteer other people to go fight in is what I'm hearing.

0

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

I’m not even saying he had to enlist. I’m saying Ukraine needs their contribution to GDP more than the US does.

7

u/im-ba 1d ago

You're just backpedaling. You want them to be in the meat grinder but you're too afraid to double down on it

2

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

I want no one to be in the meat grinder.

War is an affront. However, you can’t just wish it away.

10

u/im-ba 1d ago

But you can wish people away, apparently

4

u/Thehealthygamer 1d ago

You've seen the conscription gangs right? It's like ICE except they're grabbing men to forcefully conscript to send to the front lines. This family would almost certainly lose their father, to years of military service in the best scenario or to a body bag in the most likely scenario.

And, that's worth it, because Ukraine needs the GDP contribution?

0

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

You’re really comparing a country trying to defend its democracy to ICE now? Shameful.

3

u/Thehealthygamer 1d ago

Lmao oh you are so fuckin deluded, I bet you think America just has a trump problem too eh and it'll all be fixed once he gets voted out?

u/DasaniDestroyer 1d ago

lol. I want to believe this is a troll. So you’re saying, it’s good they are have to return to an active war zone. Of course you don’t mention that and say it’s because they need workers.

Good bait mate. Hope you’re a bot

-4

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

It sucks being invaded. Yes. That doesn’t somehow magically make manpower not relevant.

16

u/nooby_goober 1d ago

Sounds like you should get a one way to Ukraine then!

15

u/ThatBCHGuy 1d ago

The article says they're going to Europe, not UA. At least for as long as they're allowed to stay there.

-7

u/Current-Function-729 1d ago

Ukraine is in Europe.

13

u/ThatBCHGuy 1d ago

Not wrong, but the article sure makes it sound like it's not UA.

13

u/Blueberry1900 1d ago

If you are so invested, perhaps you should volunteer in Ukraine.

2

u/Haunting-Respect9039 1d ago

You didn't read the article, huh?

1

u/BoysenberryKey5504 19h ago

No it isn't. It isn't good for anyone to return to an active war zone. I think it's very sad they feel like they have to leave Minnesota. Very sad. They should feel safe and welcome here.

And what happened to Trump's campaign promise to end that war in his first week in office? What a buffoon. Instead he starts new wars. I would be livid if I had actually been swayed to vote for him. That danger has passed obviously. B***tard.

1

u/TruckStopSigns 1d ago

I'll never understand why other Redditors insist on engaging with trolls. Block this guy and move on.

-1

u/wandpapierkritiker 1d ago

but…they’re returning because of the conditions here, not because of the conditions there. you point may be valid, but it doesn’t fairly apply to this situation. there’s no question they would stay here if it weren’t for this government. imagine building a new life, then watching it disappear in an instant and returning to a place of uncertainty (regardless of familiarity). even if/when they do return, they will have to nearly start over yet again - which is what they’re also about to experience returning to the Ukraine. your comment seems to ignore the utter failure to humanity that our country has become.
