Which Schedule
Trying to decide whether to take NPB 101 in fall or winter. Which schedule would you choose?
Option 1: NPB 101 in Fall
Fall:
BIS 103 — Monfared (same day final w npb 101)
EVE 100 — Ramirez
MMG 103L — Quides
NPB 101 — Smith / Joiner / Huising
Winter:
BIS 104 — Lin
NPB 101L — Bautista
NPB 143 — Tripp
RE: MMG 162 — Shah OR MCB 162 — Burgess OR MCB 150 — Draper
Option 2: NPB 101 in Winter
Fall:
BIS 103 — Monfared
EVE 100 — Ramirez
MMG 103L — Quides
BIS 181 — Comai / Sundaresan
Winter:
BIS 104 — Lin
NPB 101 — Caporale / Usrey
RE: MMG 162 — Shah OR MCB 162 — Burgess OR MCB 150 — Draper
NPB 101L would be in Spring with Option 2.
And if you’ve taken any of these classes with these professors, I’d appreciate your thoughts!

104 and NPB 101 together is a nightmarish combo, I'd stray with the fall option because of that alone. EVE 100 is a manageable class especially with Ramirez, and 103 isn't as bad as 104. I'd also recommend trying to switch to Zerbe for 103 if you can.

May I ask why Zerbe over Monfared?

clearer lectures, fairer expectations, less trickier exams - RMP obviously isn't 100% reliable, but there's enough of a gap between them to say one is clearly the better fit with some exceptions

EVE 100 is pretty easy from what I heard, so taking that course with the harder upper-division courses in the same quarter is a good choice. However, if you are a senior or you expect to graduate in 2027, I strongly advise against taking NPB 100L or NPB 101L in spring; these labs are known to be difficult, and they will fail people.
