Science and Technology Using large language models to speed through the math and reasoning and figure out the science of UFO's
Ive been testing this theory. LLM's have gotten pretty powerful and easily accessible. I feel like we could use them to do a large part of the work in reasoning our way through what is possible and what is probable as far as the actual physics goes.
Who wants to build a flying saucer? 🤣

Meeeee, teach it about zero-point energy. That's how they fly.

Im as far as "three electromagnetic fields CAN exert force on neutral matter and CAN cause air to become glowing plasma which would explain why they all have 3 lights on the bottom" but what we are missing from real world physics is whatever the piece is that amplifies and directs the fields to act as thrust

Electromagnetic fields actually already bend spacetime a tiny bit and a field of a strong enough magnitude could actually bend spacetime and pull the ship into it. Which would work great in space.

They do but the actual magnitude is utterly small and has never been observed. For instance, how much does 1 kilogram bend spacetime?
Barely nothing you need a Sun worth of mass to bend light a fraction of a degree. The entire Earth's mass results in a really very very tiny gravitational redshift from barely slightly non flat spacetime.
How much EM energy would you get if you annihilated half a kilogram of matter with half a kg of antimatter? A fuckton of gammas like an H-bomb in a box. That is 21 megatons, bigger than every H-bomb ever detonated except Tsar Bomba. Concentrate that in a tiny place. That amount of concentrated EM energy would bend space roughly about as much as one kilogram of matter, i.e. not observable. The units of stress energy tensor in energy density scale like that you need energy densities in B2 + E2 roughly (I know the tensor is more complicated but that is the scale) that scales like the as mc2 of normal matter.
That is what is known in GR. There would have to be some distinctly different physics and theory of nature which we have seen nothing about in the lab or theoretically to get engineerable space time.

Ok so Claude gave me an entire physics explanation and told me that all I need to do is get ahold of some red mercury or stable element 115 to get started.

But use real physics though. The point is not to actually build a UFO but to constrain what's actually impossible until theres a direction to go in.

To really do it right, you'd need the AI to synthesize and plan experiments to prove out the physics. You'd have to start by completely ignoring UFO lore and start at first principles.

LLMs don't "reason", they just link together the most statistically likely string of words.
