Any East Coast divers here?

Are there any East Coast divers in here? East Anglia maybe.

Here's a little taste of what we have shore diving in Norfolk for those that aren't local:

Can't wait for the weather (and COVID) to clear up so we can get back to this!

Advice - cold water buddy issues

Hi all,

My partner and I are new to scuba diving - we qualified with Padi OW last year in the Bahamas - a cool 20°C under the water! Upon return to the UK we attempted AOW in Stoney Cove, ~Dec, but my partner has had huge issues with the cold and leaking drysuits. Seems she's an odd fit, so something tends to leak, somewhere.

As well as this, the hoods we were given weren't the most comfortable, and so she (and so we) bailed. We both want to carry on diving, and if we can solve the cold water issue then we'd love to carry on diving locally. My question is, is it worth investing in a dry suit assuming it'll solve the problem, or should we try something else?

Edit: Dosthill, not Stoney! They're about equidistant to us anyway...

Recommendations Please

Hi all,

I got my OW last year and doing my eLearning for the AOW currently. I have a very basic kit but am looking to get my own set of regs that would be suitable for cold water/UK diving please? I'd be happy to spend up to/around £500 on the 1st stage, 2nd, octo and SPG (I hope that is reasonable but let me know if not!). I am finding it a bit of a minefield and am being told different things so if you guys can recommend a good starter reg I would really appreciate it! I'd also like to know your experience on buying new versus 2nd hand?

Thank you!

Edit: Thank you for the advice, I went for the Apeks XTX200 with XTX40 octo as got it all plus a twin gauge for £560
