TMUA as IBDP Maths AI HL
Hello,
I just started IBDP and wish to apply at a very competitive course that requires TMUA.
I am right now very concerned that having Maths AI HL background will not be enough for the TMUA, and I really want to ace this test.
I would appreciate any help, information, and guidance π π.

LSE General Course
Was wondering if anyone on here can help me with a personal issue I'm having. I'm 20, in my first year studying on LSE's distance learning course with the University of London. Due to visa restrictions, traditional university courses aren't available to me. These visa issues will be sorted in 2028, which means I can then join a traditional university but would have to start from scratch. I have two options: I can go on the LSE General Course, which is a year actually studying at the LSE campus, or I start all over at a different university. What option would you advise, especially in this job market? Do I continue on this essentially non-ranked university course with a year at LSE, or start again at 23 to get a proper university degree behind me?

Ideas for easy weeknight dinners?
As someone who is about to start my first year at uni this September, I'm looking for ideas of simple things to cook for dinner. If you have easy any go-to dishes, please do share! Unfortunately, I have around 25 allergies, so I likely won't be able to make many things you suggest, but I can try and find a workaround with ingredients that I can eat when possible :)

Queen's University Belfast vs Aston University
Hello,
I am currently work in an admin role and have started to teach myself intermediate and advanced Excel skills, and will be moving onto BI skills soon. The more I have learnt and applied into real life scenarios, the more I am considering a career in tech. I have a social sciences degree and have been looking to the QUB Software Development and Aston Uni Computer Science online conversion courses.
Does anyone have any advice or knowledge on how reputable these two courses would be? I have seen quite a few reviews for the QUB course from a few years ago, but obviously the job landscape has changed since then. But I'm just trying to avoid the usual cash cow courses that everyone recommends to avoid.
Thank you

Occupational Therapy vs Pharmacology
I know these are two completely different paths but Iβm really stuck between them π
I like OT because I want a job where Iβm helping people directly and working with patients, and I like the idea of doing something that actually makes a difference.
But I also really love science, especially biology and learning about how medicines work, which is why Pharmacology interests me. I like the idea of drug development, how drugs affect the body and potentially working for pharmaceutical companies.
My main priorities are having a good chance of getting a job after uni, decent pay and not ending up unemployed. I also donβt really want to have to do an MSc or loads of further education after my BSc.
If youβve studied or work in either field, what would you recommend? And for Pharmacology, is an MSc usually needed to get a good job in the pharmaceutical industry?

Anyone else still waiting for their CAS from Aston University for September 2026?
Hi everyone,
I wanted to check if there are other international students in the same situation as me.
I have completed all the required steps for my CAS, but I am still waiting. I recently received an email from Aston saying that they are experiencing delays due to structural changes and, at the moment, they are unable to confirm when my CAS will be issued.
What is worrying me is that time is getting very limited for the visa process. I have asked the university for clarification, but I wanted to find out whether other students for the September 2026 intake are facing the same delay.
If you're still waiting for your CAS, please comment or DM me and let me know:
Your course/department
When you completed your CAS requirements
Whether Aston has given you any timeline or explanation
It would be really helpful to know whether this is affecting a large number of students or only certain applications.
Thanks!
