I-130 & I-485 (Family/Adjustment of status) Interview without current status

I have my interview soon and I fell out of status after submitting the i-485. Would it be a problem at the interview?

but also, during my interview, I was asked what my status now and I stumbled on that. Because I figured that while the AOS pending, I can lawfully stay…. but it was a bit hard for me to explain.
