Which extractor for a USP 45 Tactical?

Unfortunately my extractor somehow chipped and I need to source a replacement.

My USP is date coded BI, and came with the older style extractor (SKU 214828).

I see that HK has a new style extractor (SKU 215864) for the USD with a red mark, but does this fit the older slides?

Also I heard HKparts.net kind of sucks now, is there a better source for OEM HK parts?

Thanks!

USP 45 magazines question?

Hey I recently picked up an HK USP expert in 45 acp. Dream gun for me. Old but awesome. However, I was wondering if there are any good mag extensions anymore. Hear hk parts is kinda shit. And promags exists. I dont mind getting 12rders. But just wanted some more capacity for range silliness.

Not really a fan of 45 but I’m a fan of the USP so was wondering what’s the price that makes it a no brainer to jump even with not being a fan of 45 personally

Question Thoughts on this optic cut?

Thinking of sending my usp expert for this optic cut specifically because it cowitnesses with the factory adjustable target irons which is pretty unique. It can only take the 509T footprint because of size constraints.

Originally I was going to send it off to wright armory like everyone else.

Well I finally snagged a USP 9 full-size and were the same age with date codes of AA. Terrible joke I know but you laughed. Anyways, I've always wondered why no brand makes full metal aftermarket mags for this. So I took a short bit of time to make P30/VP9 mags fit. Properly spaced, feeds dummy rounds flawlessly, and locks back. Hoping to get to the range soon to test it out.

45acp Werkz outlier M6 universal IWB fits .45 tactical, GG&G rail, TLR1HL, with minimal fitting

Wanted to share some knowledge as I had this issue trying to find a decent light bearing holster, specifically universal that fit well. The Tier1 MSP fits according to another post, but as shown it has a huge gap into the trigger guard, which I did not like. Unmodified, the gun fit, but was extremely tight due to the holster having barely not enough clearance for the top of the slide. With some breaking in it got easier, but definitely not something I would want to trust. Part of the holster also barely contacts the extractor, which is really not a big deal as I doubt it affects retention, but may scuff it which is a problem for some snobs. To fix both issues, I simply used a heat gun and two layers of painters tape. I then jostled the gun up and down to ensure plenty of extra clearance before it's fully indexed off the light. The extractor was clearanced by heating just the edge of the kydex, and pushing inward lower on the kydex, so that only the soft, heated edge will deform. If you do the same, make sure where you're pressing is sufficiently cool/set so that you don't put a nice thumb shaped indent in your holster. The only other place one may want to clearance is the sweat guard, which barely contacts the safety, but I imagine the flex from wearing or sitting with the holster is going to make it contact regardless of if you fit it. The only real "issue" some may have is the gap on the left/inside of the holster. It has a nice taper to allow reholstering to be easier, however because the rail adapter pushes the light a decent bit forward relative to most other factory railed handguns, the trigger guard sits further up in the holster, which I was able to pull the trigger in both DA and SA, but just, use your safety? I have pretty small fingers anyway, I have serious doubts anything would get in that gap, release the safety, and pull the trigger without you knowing. Couple more things of note with this particular holster as well. I bought the TCC clips, instead of using the included plastic monoblock. Where the square shaped nuts for the clip on the slide side of the holster sit is very close to the slide. If it were tightened down where one of the corners was facing toward the slide, or loosened up, I could potentially see the nut making contact with the slide. This wouldn't be an issue with the monoblock. Also, I took measurements of the 45 magazines, and they appear to be only 1mm shorts in one direction compared to a 45 Glock magazine, which Werkz makes a mag caddy for, but I didn't commit to buying that Incase the holster didn't fit the USP. Also, the mag caddy attaches using plastic rivets similar to automotive plastic clips for bumpers and trim, and I have no idea how far it may protrude into the holster. It may interfere with where the slide is in the holster. Also, the 9mm and .40 USPs slides are apparently 2mm shorter and an 1/8 inch thinner than the .45, either dimension of which I imagine would make the holster work without any fitting of the holster. The photos show in order the holstered gun after fitment, then both sides of the trigger guard, the right side being able to barely touch the trigger with my, again already dainty, pinkie, but not any other finger without pain from forcing, then the left side with the much larger gap, then where I applied the two layers of tape, the contact post minor fitting on the extractor, then the next two photos show the unmodified clearance contact areas. The extractor obviously sticks out further than shown when chambered as well. Last photo shows the holstered view of the left side unmodified, as I forgot to take a photo from that angle after I finished fitting. Also, the gun can pivot slightly up and down, though it's not the holsters fault, as I can see the light stays in place, it's the inherent play in the GG&G rail. It's nothing crazy either, I'm sure any other holster with that rail and light would do the same. Any questions feel free to ask.

9mm Buying advice on USP 9mm SD

Post image
28 Upvotes

Ok fellow USP freaks, needing some input. Local store has the USP 9mm SD for 800 dollars.

Looks to be in fairly good condition. KF date marked.

Downside is the stippling job done on the grip. Thankfully it looks to be a light stippling with an extra wrap on top.

Figure at worst its a decent price for donor parts and using the upper assembly on an USP40 grip.

Alright! Here is a pretty big update. The standard, full-size USP .45s have arrived.

We will open up orders for these on Friday, September 4th at 11 AM Eastern using the page below:
Heckler & Koch HK USP .45 V1 12-Round Pistol, OD Green Frame

Like the last launch, the plan will be to pack everybody's pistols over the weekend and have them leave on Tuesday, the 8th (UPS doesn't pick up on Labor Day the 7th). It gives us a little more time to prepare for shipping and collect everybody's FFLs.

If you already have a local gun shop picked out, please feel free to put their name and physical address in the order notes/comments section. That will allow us to really speed up the process.

If you grab more than one pistol, we will make sure you receive consecutive serial numbers :)

Again, thank you so much for your love and patronage! These runs require a lot of things to go right -- and they're certainly not possible without y'alls help and support. Y'all rock!

Cheers,

Sol and the Sweatshop Gang

Question Thumb position on Usp9

Do you guys like to keep your firing hand thumb riding on top of the safety, or below it? I’m used to shooting Glocks, so I’m having to experiment.

Question Way to refinish optic cut while preserving laser engraving?

Hi,

Considering getting my usp optic cut and cut area refinished but I want to ideally preserve the laser engraving on the slide. Is this possible?

I’m also curious if it destroys the value of the gun if the laser engravings on the slide are lost?

Modifications USP45T using USP40 Surplus LEM (Mag Disconnect) Parts

Thumbnail

I bought a set of surplus used USP40 [parts](https://www.reddit.com/r/USPmasterrace/comments/1vykc55/usp_le_used_parts_kit/) I had ordered just to have spares of things, which are always nice to have. Spares seem to prevent damage to my guns, Murphy's law in reverse or some shit. Anyway, I saw the LEM hardware and went to town.

I found out that the parts kit was for a magazine disconnect LEM model USP40, and wasn't quite compatible with my new USP45T. I modified the mag disconnect parts to get it running, and now I have a match hybrid LEM - first time. I can see why people like it. I can also understand why it's difficult to explain to someone who hasn't really tried it why it is so cool.

Sharing pics so others can see what is required to get this running if they want to. I'm going to make a proper spacer next week to replace this ghettoness: 3mm ID x 2.3mm long. OD ~4.8mm.

Cheers

Attachments & Holsters QLS compatible holster for USP9?

Post image

Just picked this up and looking to slap it on my belt and run some matches with it, having trouble finding a holster though! I run the safariland QLS system, and I’d like to stay with that. Anyone got any recs? Not throwing an optic on it right now, level 1 or 2 is fine as I’ll be running 2-gun as well. Thanks in advanced guys!

Is the USP pic rail adapter stout enough to support an optic bridge setup?

I found a local USP in .40 for a good deal and want to set it up with an optic for USPSA L10 just because it'd be funny. I don't think I want to optic cut the gun (at least not yet). Do you think the pic adapter grabs the rail tight enough to support a dot bridge off of it? TIA fellas.
