Advice/Question Commuter C Permit

I tried calling campus services, but they’re closed right now. I just have stupid questions:

Is the parking permit a one time purchase for the entire semester?

How long does it usually take to get the permit in the mail?

Is Commuter C and Commuter Surface the same?

You can typically print out a temporary permit if you are waiting on your actual permit to come in so that you can start using it immediately.

Also if you buy it at the kiosk in the parking garage they'll just give you one

It’s a one time purchase good from Sep 1st 2026 to August 31st 2027. I think it takes a few days or so to get the permit in the mail. I am pretty sure Commuter C and Commuter surface are the same

Commuter C is your regular standard parking pass, it’s good for the school YEAR 2026-2027 most passes expire the following year on August 31st. The term “surface” refers to actually parking itself, that’s why it’s called Commuter Surface, it’s a commuters surface (parking space).

I ordered my parking pass at the end of the week last week, and it was deliver yesterday. So roughly 3 business days

Yeah, when you get to the UTSA parking page, you’ll see a tab that says Student Surfaces Permits and Commuter C will be in that tab, when you’re in the processing of purchasing your pass it will give you the option to select Commuter, that’s the one you want to buy.
