I was walking around my apartment complex and realized basically everyone else has a much newer outdoor AC unit than we do. Ours legitimately looks like it’s from the 1990s.
Our electric bill is around $300/month during the summer because this thing basically runs nonstop. We set the thermostat to 70°F, but during the day the apartment usually sits around 76–77°F. Sometimes it gets up around 80°F and just cannot cool the apartment down.
The only time it can actually reach 70 is roughly 2–9 AM when it’s cooler outside. By the time we’re going to bed around 9–10 PM, it’s usually still 75–77°F, so we have the AC running nonstop plus fans everywhere.
Maintenance has been out multiple times. Occasionally it gets bad enough that it basically stops cooling, they come out and add refrigerant/Freon, and then it works better for a while before eventually going back to the same shit.
Meanwhile, I’m looking around the complex and seeing newer units everywhere except ours.
I am an electrician so I have some ideas just want to see if yall have a better one than what I’m thinking. I just want management to finally decide that continuing to service this dinosaur isn’t worth it and replace the damn thing.

Karma incoming- several problems- the “bagel shop” (it’s is not, it’s a shitty subSysco level food shop) blasts music our group of apartments court yard and at all times durning the week and in the am on the weekends. When asked to turn it down- or just shut their back door- they refuse. Like, angrily refuse.
The food sits out, unrefrigerated, on the back station all day- can be seen from the back door which is left open. We’re talking tuna and chicken salads, pastas salads, cheeses, meats, etc. it attracts rats, pidgins, and all types of bugs. Not to mention the food poisoning component and health code violations. You’d be better off licking a public toilet seat than eating there.
They complain that we (the 23-25 tenants) are targeting them because they’re renting. This is not the case. They are running a disgusting, annoying, rat shit infested cafe and it’s fucking up everyone’s day.
I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns.

Any way, what are we doing about this? We’ve tried reviews, calling the city, calling the parent company, alerting the landlord, posting in the Facebook group of the neighborhood- there are about 10 of us working on solving the situation and now I want vengeance.

I (21F)recently left my job of three years, in which I met above mentioned ex coworker. She is an older woman, (65F) and since we met she was not even remotely nice to me, always complaining about me, trying to get me in trouble, I was also the employee with highest pay, best position simply due to experience, attitude, and seniority.

I did mess up by responding but I was really mad at her comments, but I asked her about three times to stop contacting me, and I ended the conversation, took screenshots with time stamps, and blocked her. Now knowing what she’s done in the past, and seeing that I am now her person of interest, what can I do? Specifically to allegedly find just personal information about her in case that this escalates and I wish to report her.

Hey! I just broke it off with my partner of five years. He ended cheating on me and we were planning on getting engaged. Make fun of me if you want, but we have been dating since high school. Thought he was the one. We planned on hanging out to talk. Drove 40 minutes for him to ignore me after. Hes 20, smokes weed illegally supplied by his brother. Works in healthcare as a Med Tech. I called his work and told them he has def smoked before going in. I let air out of his tire so he would be late. What else can I do to his car? Or to him to make his life trouble.

Long story short but someone in my life lent me a substantial amount of money a year ago in a very desperate situation. And now they are demanding to get the debt off of their hands. It’s daily messages. I have been paying them $1000 monthly but at this rate it’ll be another year before it’s paid off I don’t know why they need it cleared ASAP. But my credit is shot i can’t just take out a loan and pay them back and I have literally no options right now.

I can’t just block them because I owe them money and want to pay it off. But the literal DAILY messages asking where I’m at with finding another option is faking a serious toll my mental health, when the whole reason they bailed me out was to help me. I wish they never did and I wish I just went through what they got me out of.

So, I retired a few months ago, at 33, not by choice. My team got sacked a year ago, but I was the only one spared. I got placed on another team, and within 7 months, that team got sacked, this time, nobody was spared. I got a nice severance and claimed unemployment. During this time, i realized, I'm pretty set to just retire, I have a sizable amount of investments and I have quite a simple and low cost lifestyle. But, some extra income would help offset market volatility risks early on into retirement.

I thought about just practicing leetcode and just working another year or two just to clean up my mortgage a bit, but figured I'd ask. Also cause AI and not having to interview for over 6 years made me a bit rusty. What is stopping me from taking some shitty retail job, doing nothing, getting fired, and collecting some unemployment again?

Any ways to minmax this?

I have a Master’s degree in IT, but the job market in my country is completely fucked right now, especially for new grads. Pretty much every “entry-level” job wants 1–3 years of experience, which makes no sense when you can’t get experience because nobody will hire you without it.

So how do I get some credible experience on my CV without just making up a fake employer that could easily be exposed in a background check? I’ve thought about registering a small company and technically employing myself, or even paying someone to act as my former boss/reference if they get called.

I’m not looking for the usual “keep applying” or “work on your GitHub” advice. My savings are pretty much gone at this point, I can’t find a job, and I’ve got a ton of student debt. I’m honestly running out of options.

Need help getting a guy to do either. Long story short hes a snake that has been snitching to higher ups over the smallest of things. This means jumping over peoples direct supervisors to speak to the manager in our department. I cant lie we have it pretty cake in our team and intend on keeping it that way. This has happened twice now, the first time was over 6 months ago, some number calls my girlfriend out of nowhere and starts describing her that they have seen her, like fully detailed, creeping her out, also starts talking shit to her, now when I called that number back from my number and confronted about how they got my girlfriend's number, they mentioned a friend from our friend group consisting total of 4 (including me and my girl) people, now when we cross-checked none of our friends leaked her number. But, apparently, there's this one guy, who used to like her, has her number, and he's not in the school with us anymore, neither he is or was in our group, so our suspicion is that he is making his friends call her and do these shit, now legally, how meticulously they describe her on the call gets her panic and anxiety attacks and tells her shitty stuff like she is not pretty which is something she regularly struggles with herself, is considered stalking and harassing. Since this is the 2nd time this has happened, we are considering changing her number but that doesn't solve the issue, I want to avenge her, she was doing great with herself lately, and just the night before her birthday, this shit happened and she's going through panic and anxiety, I'm trying my best here, but guy who is doing is, the guy who called and said shit, and the guy who is making him do these, I want to ruin them.
