Do not comment to gatekeep that something "isn't urban" or "isn't hell". Our rules are very expansive in content we welcome, so do not assume just based off your false impression of the phrase "UrbanHell"

UrbanHell is any human-built place you think is worth critizing. Suburban Hell, Rural Hell, and wealthy locales are allowed. Gatekeeping comments may be removed. Want to shitpost about shitty posts? Go to /r/urbanhellcirclejerk. Still have questions?: Read our FAQ.

It’s always crazy that an island can look like this

Not a single tree or green to blemish the concrete 😍

Apart from the trees in the top left and bottom right of this photo.

Looks like one giant downtown center. You'll never see this many buildings in the states.

Thing is they’re almost all low- and mid-rise buildings so it doesn’t feel closed in like say, NYC.

Possibly the easiest metropolis to get around in. And cleanest, highest quality of life compared to any other large metro

Agree! Anyone that downvotes you is probably just a China glazer that thinks a building with LEDs on it means the future is now.

Maybe the Chinese think the future is now, but Japan has no future altogether lol

Been a few times. Amazing place, incredible setting, nothing quite like it.

If you’ve actually been there you know Tokyo is one of the cleanest, tidiest and most polite cities in the world.

And with a very noticeable lack of greenery.

Tokyo has parks. If I want greenery I won’t be in a city.

yeah, does this "If I want greenery I won’t be in a city" gimmick works for other cities like cairo and mumbai as well.

Ey, I live in a city. I look through the window and I see plenty of trees on the streets.

While i don’t disagree i think they meant like overall greenery instead of just pockets of it. Also some people want greenery but also want to be in a city for the job opportunities and such

They build bridges along water ways, cables hang as if it's Mumbai and the building quality is piss-poor. Being clean is just the bare minimum of being considered civilized

I rate this 5/5 Egypts.
