Question Attacking on summit.

I've noticed I mess up almost all of my attacks on summit. I play really well on defense but when it comes to attack my kills drop substantially. Almost every single summit game I played, it goes overtime because of this issue. Both teams play well on defense and bad on attack.

I'm a clove main and in b2 currently. I find this problem mainly in A site. One smoke is enough for my whole team to become stagnant. If we enter we get caught from all the angles. Sova isn't picked much in my teams, and fades haunt doesn't expose everyone, tejos drone can cover only one side. Can someone pls tell me how can I attack well on summit?

My suggestion don't 5 man rush A have 1 or 2 flank from mid and keep your flashes for entry reminder I am bronze 3 so don't take my opinion seriously

Thank you, I don't mind the rank I appreciate any tips whatsoever because we were genuinely struggling to even enter. (Same with the opps, match ended at 15-15 draw). Score was 10-2 before we started attacking 😔 sometimes one or two enter mid but it's more of a gamble because they end up getting killed by the player holding mid or the one rotating. And also one holds the mid to A after we tried that path a few times. One smoke and raze grenades/sage walls just delays our entry a lot and the opps can rotate so fast 😭

I encounter that a lot too. In that case I hold off using my smokes for site (since they will be gone by the time the choke smoke/wall is down anyway) and use one mid to help push there and use the other one when the team is ready to push site.

It can also help to have 1 or 2 lurking b so you can fast rotate once your team gets scared of A.

Thanks, that helps, I'll hold my smokes. I usually smoke right in front of us and towards the left. Idk if they're the right smokes but that's where I find opps holding angles mostly. Sometimes they're on site too but we manage to get them more than the ones offsite. Lurking helps definitely but it's also such a gamble, the teammate might die right?

As far as I know, those smokes are fine. The one for a link and 1 for site is good too depending on if you have flashes etc.

When I said lurking, I don’t mean flank them through their spawn. I would communicate to my team that we are struggling at A, we should fake. Have 3 at A to break the wall/make noise while 2 start to push into B when the one at B rotates.

If you definitely want to hit A then having some go mid while others go A main helps.

You shouldn’t smoke right in front as your usual smoke. You’re just limiting your teams mobility and make it extra claustrophobic. You should watch 1 vod on clove summit just to see how they smoke.

A lurker is amazing, but they should never take first contact.

If the “lurker” is dying first then that player is just taking unnecessary aim duels. Lurkers are meant to make their move after an opponent reacts.

The lurker should be very vocal as well. If the lurker doesn’t have comms, they cannot relay back info to the team, meaning he’s just in his own world.

This happens on a lot of maps. People are scared to enter. What I do as clove is either lurk or push with my ulti. Otherwise what’s the point of 5 stuck A main?

I feel like on few maps it's much much easier comparatively. On summit A specifically u are exposed to so many angles at once and if ur entry is delayed the opps can rotate really fast and can get us. On summit b I break wall and then place two smokes in a way that basically halves the site. Only other map I struggle like this is ascent b and abyss

If you’re not getting kills on offense then u should stop playing clove and play maybe sentinel or initiator. After clove smokes, you gotta go in there and frag.

1 smoke that stops your whole teams momentum does not mean the round is over. You need to control the game because in bronze, I assume no one really knows anything besides Rush site or “default”.

When the smoke hits and you’re not hitting, just say “guys, cut noise, let’s… re-hit in 15 secs, go on (flash agent)’s flash / retake mid, leave sentinel here”

Chances are you guys are just “running it down”. If they do not have info agents, just contact up and burst out. The defender smoker agent will smoke late and you’ll be in site already.

Got ult? Follow me, I’ll got ult.

If you’re getting more kills on defense and not offense, what this tells me is you’re not confident in “swinging” into open space without info. If you’re not good at first contact, you need to follow your duelist and be near hugging them so u can trade.

If you want to get out of bronze, the key trait is how well you can bring your team together through comms. As the smoker agent, you have the ability to IGL or control the game. If someone is doing it from the get-go, you think of strats or mid round calls to pull them together. At some point, the IGL will run out of ideas and u can include your thoughts.

focus on bringing the best performance out of your team. Encourage your teammates with positivity but don’t be fake. Nice try when someone fails. Cut toxicity immediately by addressing it. Move on from mistakes.

It's tough in low ranks because summit is definitely more of a pressure mains and push mid type of map. 5 A or 5 B are both pretty bad. It's hard to make your teamates do mid splits in this rank, but a pattern that's easier is: if you get stalled out, just leave, go to mid, look for a few fights, then either go the other site or rehit. Sometimes you can go straight to the other site as well. Often times trades will happen, and it'll turn into a lower numbers situation which makes it easier to take a site. Or they'll get confused and their rotates will lag. It's definitely better than trying to force a site exec when they have stall and they're already full rotating. The good thing about this is that, you don't even have to comm anything. Usually after being smoke or mollied of, if you start leaving people will just follow. It's generally a good thing to do on most maps, cancelling is something that people don't do enough in ranked. If you get hit by sage walls, slows and mollies, you just gotta go somewhere else. If you do that, the defenders will naturally become scattered, instead of running into a site that's guaranteed to have at least 3 people there.

the map is sunset, not summit, but yeah attacking A is honestly a nightmare without a good initiator for info

I'm talking about summit not sunset
