Guidelines for Rate My Team threads

Hey all,

Thanks to discussion that has been ongoing, we will be enforcing stricter rules on the Rate My Team posts on this subreddit in a way that should benefit everyone. I have updated the auto moderator to enforce a minimum character limit on text posts, and on image and link posts it should comment immediately suggesting additional details be added. This should improve the quality of rate my team threads substantially, but we will keep an eye on it in the upcoming weeks. If you notice any issues with the automoderator, please contact the moderators or me immediately.

Here is the text that you will see if your RMT is too short:

Hi /u/user, your Rate My Team post has been automatically removed because it did not meet our minimum character limit. Please take some time to expand the details of your post and submit again-- this will improve the quality of the help you will get, and other people will get more out of reading about your team. Here are some things you could choose to write about:

  • Why did you select each Pokemon? If possible, try to say something more specific than "it's good" or "it's unique." What specifically about the state of the metagame drew you to using this Pokemon?
  • Are any of your moves or items chosen for any particular reason?
  • Why did you choose the particular EVs that you did? If you don't know what your EV spread does, you might want to replace it with something simpler. Feel free to post damage calcs that are relevant.
  • What teams do you succeed against in practice? What teams do you struggle with? Feel free to post links to Pokemon Showdown replays.

Thank you all for your feedback and for continuing to make this community a nice place to be!

The first one is for Mega Glimmora, the second for Singles and the third onw is just to be as annoying as possible

If someone wants them to use or improve them, here the codes

RJW752K7VM - Mega Glimmora

AKAWMCLPDW - Singles

8Y4L72DB20 - Annoying

Edit:I gave Sneasler Throat Chomp and Hypnosis to Milotic

I play solo Bug mono and I’m currently in M4. I’d love some feedback on my team.

Araquanid

Mystic Water: To secure the KOs.

Liquidation: The only attacking move it needs (one-shots Incineroar after Intimidate, 2-shots Garchomp, or 1-shot in rain).

Rain Dance: Makes its attack stronger and weakens Fire-type moves. I only use it if there isn't anything that could potentially have Hurricane.

Entrainment: To remove annoying abilities like Levitate or Stamina. I can also pass the ability to Mega Scolipede so it can't be burned and can better withstand Fire-type attacks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Volcarona

Charti Berry: There are a lot of Pokémon running Rock Slide.

Fiery Dance: I chose it because I needed concentrated damage and a way to boost, and it also has better accuracy than Heat Wave.

Will-O-Wisp: I replaced Quiver Dance with this because I wasn't really using Quiver Dance. I never had enough time to set up without putting myself at too much risk.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vivillon

Focus Sash: So it can at least get off a Tailwind or Sleep Powder.

Sunny Day: I added this because of teams with Pelipper and Archaludon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scolipede

Scolipite: It's my favorite.

Earthquake: I chose this over Rock Slide because of the accuracy, and because I needed a stronger answer against Steel- and Poison-types.

Poison Jab: I chose this over Leech Life because I needed something to hit Flying-types like Charizard, and it's also better offensively.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scizor

Scizorite: I originally had it with Life Orb, but there were some battles where I couldn't bring Scolipede, so I gave it the Mega Stone. Also, when I bring both of them, it gives me more options.

Dual Wingbeat: To take down annoying Pokémon that usually run Focus Sash, like Whimsicott, and because I needed a more reliable answer to Mega Staraptor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kleavor

Choice Scarf: I needed it to take them down quickly (e.g. Pelipper, Charizard, Dragonite).

Close Combat: I originally had U-turn, but most of the time it's better to hit a couple of times with Stone Axe because of the Stealth Rock, and this also gives me an answer if Kleavor has to stay on the field (Tyranitar, Archaludon, Kingambit).

Ideas for Event team

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have never play champions before and I do have pokes to play a decent team thanks to a friend of mine

But, I would love to try a Japanese Event only team, where all are shiny and all come with a cherished ball.

In any of your expertise, can I somehow make this 6 work? Even if it’s in the lowest ranks or would I just get demolished all the time?

Thanks for the insights!

I wasn’t playing much at the beginning of this season so I decided to get a little caught up last night and went from pokeball rank 4 all the way to ultra ball tier rank 2 being completely undefeated. 10 game win streak. Broke my record of an 8 game win streak. This team is SOLID. Adding megagross and Omniscratch (Sneasler) scares fairy types away. Even if it doesn’t scare them away I deal with them. You could switch bullet punch for a stronger steel moves since all the fairy types in the game are slow anyways but I like to have a priority move on metagross. Honestly, I hardly ever bring metagross or Sneasler unless something just doesn’t feel right. I’ve won, probably 7/8 of my 10 games without metagross or Sneasler. Try this team! I will post more updates on how it does when I reach masterball rank.

After two months this team carried me to the Master Ball Tier

Thumbnail

I am aware that getting to the Master Ball Tier isn't a super huge achievement, but it was just out of reach for two whole months so I wanted to share my excitement :)

-

CHARIZARD:

A standard Charizard set, added to have a reliable second Mega, to deny opponents their weather, and to beat the ice types that threaten Garchomp and Dragonite.

-

DRAGONITE:

Dragonite is my preferred mega, it's wonderfully bulky and while not outputting huge damage it's incredibly consistent. Base Dragonite's ability being inner focus also makes for some fun mind games, and helps consistently beat trickroom set up.

I run Dragon Pulse for consistency, Air Cutter for spread damage, and Thunder Bolt as my choice of coverage to help deal with rain teams.

-

GARCHOMP:

Garchomp is a given since both my Mega Pokemon are flying types. Additionally I built the whole team (except Basculegion) to be fine with being hit with at least one earthquake.

It does add a second four times weakness to ice types though...

-

WHIMSICOTT:

I run slow bulky Whimsicott with a sitrus because we have a closed team sheets format, that's why!

I run slow Whimsicott because it feels great to immediately encore opposing Whimsicott into Tailwind, and if my Whimsicott is slower at least I never need to rely on winning speed ties.

The bulk and the sitrus berry is mostly to catch opponents off guard since Whimsicott can be surprisingly bulky, and no one anticipates that.

Originally it was just how my Whimsicott was build for another team.

-

SNEASLER:

A standard Focus Sash Sneasler set, I prefer using Focus Sash over White Herb which also contributed to the bulky Whimsicott choice.

Focus Sash allows Sneasler to live an Earthquake and activates Unburden in the most important situation.

-

BASCULEGION:

I knew I needed a water type to complete the water/grass/fire trio, and originallyni didn't want Basculegion, but I landed on Basculegion in the end due to already having him in my box, and due to the immunity to fake out.

-

LEADS:

In an ideal word I lead Whimsicott and Sneasler to abuse the Fake Out and Encore to their fullest, switching in the big guns when the opposing team needs to switch or are stuck being useless.

Against Trick Room teams i usually lead Dragonite and Basculegion (unless they are using Kangashkhan, then I bring Whimsicott).

Ended up making a video breaking down what makes it so good, what moves I like on it, and how I’ve been using it.

If anybody else has been running Beedrill, what have y’all been pairing it with?

I Built a Team That Basically Doesn’t Care About Intimidate or Fake Out, Am I Cooking?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Been testing this Tailwind offense team for the current season, built around minimizing the impact of Intimidate, Fake Out and Trick Room:

Mega Glimmora / Mega Raichu Y / Whimsicott / Gholdengo / Chandelure / Physical Dragapult

Mega Glimmora is my main Mega, with Mega Raichu Y as the alternative against Rain/Water-heavy teams.

Whimsicott provides Tailwind, Gholdengo covers Fairy/Ice/Fighting threats, and Chandelure runs Imprison + Trick Room to counter opposing TR.

Physical Dragapult with Clear Body adds physical pressure without being weakened by Intimidate.

The triple Ghost core also makes half the team immune to Fake Out.

Been having good results so far. What weaknesses do you see, and what would you change for the current season?

I didn’t invent this team but I wanted to ask if sinistcha would be better than anyone because most mega blastoise I see run sinistcha
