Hi all, looking for recommendations for a mid-range restaurant in Belfast with good vegan options (doesn't have to be a fully vegan place as long as there's decent choice for me). I've been to Belfast once before and had a lovely vegan pizza at Chubby Cherub, but would like to try somewhere new if possible.

Looking for stylish vegan smart casual 'trainers'/shoes that can handle the autumn and the office. Both male and female recommendations.

No vans or converse - just too thin/flat soled and can get wet easily. Unfortunately no boots for men but for me I'd love vegan blundstone one day when wallet allows.

Used to get Ethnies for men but hard to get vegan ones in size now and they barely last 2-3 months before the cloth rips apart.

Next and M&S never lasted either or felt thin and cheap underfoot. Same with Dunnes and Penney's.

I’m not vegan but will be hosting a breakfast for a group of friends, one of whom is vegan.
My plan is some version of a fry and granola/yoghurt/fruit.

I’ve asked her about preferred brands/flavours etc. but she doesn’t live in Ireland so wouldn’t necessarily be familiar with the brands available here that aren’t international.

I’m looking for thoughts especially on vegan sausages or rashers including Denny’s, Paul’s Rudds or Linda McCartneys - or other brands available! Or whether you think they’re not worth it.

The fry will also have tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and baked beans (all vegan).

hey I'm 21 female and I've been vegetarian since I was 14 due to the love for animals but switched to vegan a few months ago after seeing how bad the industry is.

Anyways so basically all my friends and family are meat eaters and it's really hard when they don't show remorse. my good friend jokes about being anti vegan and the meat he ate that day and it kinda stings. like how do people not care?? and how do I "get over it" so I don't end up alone lol.

it's also hard cause it was lovely with my big sister being vegetarian but she just went back to eating meat like she never cared about animals to begin with and when I bring it up she straight up ignores me. it's so hard being mocked and treated differently just because I choose not to eat animals.

my recent obsession has been the smoked tofu from lidl, you can slice it for sandwiches aswell as cook it and it is so good man, would recommend

Tried Juicy Marbles for the first time and I am genuinely disappointed. The texture was not consistent across even after a good pan fry for almost 15 mins. It didn't taste anything close to meat.

Beyond on other hand has more texture and true meaty taste.

Maybe I should try Juicy Marbles again in a restaurant where an expert may cook it on proper flames instead of hob searing...

Still got a patty left, if anyone has an advice/tweak to make it taste better

Went to one of the Xi’an spots in Dublin on the weekend and ordered tofu veg noodles. The only allergen listed on the screen was wheat. I wrote “vegan please” in the notes section just in case. It was late and takeaway only and as I opened it, I noticed it was rice noodles (it was supposed to be wheat noodles) and NO sauce. It was so bland so I just put a bunch of soy sauce on it to make it a bit better.

I keep looking at their menu and website and cannot figure out what is actually vegan or how to order vegan! I feel like the allergens are all over the place and things that should be vegan don’t appear to be. Maybe I’m reading things wrong? Can someone please help me know what to get there? I love noodles and just want to be able to enjoy some good late night noodles on occasion.

I have a long time friend who is a vegan and we have and issue we currently butt heads on. HE WON'T TRY ANY NEW FOOD. He's really staunch about things such as vegan foods being processed in even the same space as animal products. So I want to attempt to drag him to a place where he has no chance but to actually engage with some half decent vegan food that isn't an entire bag of lidl's pasta or potato waffles.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions you can give.

I cannot find the dairy gold one anywhere near me!There’s the black and white one (name is escaping my mind) that tastes like nothing 😭. The flora one has a very disrupting taste, very sickly. Never liked flora even before I was vegan so I’m frustrated at my options. lol.

I think I’ll go back to the black and white one that tastes like nothing lol.

In Lidl Gorey yesterday and randomly picked these up. Cynic in me says they are not labelled vegan on the front so they sell more and also cost less to make with no animal products in them.
