One of the records I often recommend to people as being a less talked about Blue Note title. Album is good start to finish and look at the players he landed for this set.

You don’t hear much about Miles’ later work, but absolutely love his Human Nature and Time After Time covers on this one. Just a great vibe all around.

As I've only been seriously collecting Jazz vinyl for a couple of years, when i started I wasn't really aware of the gray market reissues. However, now i am aware i avoid them, but the question is:

Do you buy genuine releases/legit reissues to "replace" your grey market (or Scorpio pressings) ??

I mean, it’s not going on anybody’s Mount Rushmore of jazz albums, but it’s a straight swinger that’s lovely to listen to and recorded exceptionally well.

Hello. I have a podcast called 'Discovering Jazz', and for an upcoming episode I want to feature jazz albums (or even just compositions) that have been created out of love. This idea was inspired by a new album by John Donaldson called "We Were Together I Forget the Rest" dedicated to his late wife. So far I'm considering using part of A Love Supreme, and one or two Wayne Shorter tunes--Infant Eyes (inspired by his new born daughter) and Ana Maria (dedicated to his wife who later died in a plane crash). Can you think of any others? I'm NOT looking for albums of 'romantic' songs...but, rather, ones where the writer or performer specifically created it as a result of being inspired by love. Thanks.

After seeing this album here lots of times, I held off from listening to it on any streaming site until I find an old copy of the LP. Finally found one online and got it for $35! The music... just wow!

I found this version of Caravan which was very interesting to me, slower in tempo, sounds pretty weird. I can't find any documentation on this besides the licensing to some obscure record label, they do however, credit Duke Ellington for this recording. This was my 2nd 45 RPM album (after Miles Davis E.S.P). Amazing album (both the actual composition and the sound/mastering), "Pee Wee" is my favorite track on this album.

Hello! I managed to find what appears to be a very early pressing of Shirley Scott's Hip Soul, originally released in 1961. It had some light surface scratches, but it still sounds great!

Until this afternoon, I only had a 10" from her discography. Although I prefer Steeplechase, this Inner City reissue was $6 at my local. I can look for an upgrade later.

This pure pleasure analogue pressing of this incredible strata east record sounds amazing. I guess it’s become harder to find and is out of print now because I’ve noticed prices have really shot up on this one. If you find a copy for a decent price I’d say this is an instant buy!
