WGU AI detection
Performance Assessments, anytime I have submitted a paper it has never came back with a score for AI Content. Is this normal? I don’t use Grammarly on a normal basis to go over my papers. However, anytime I have it shows a high AI score, I tend to ignore it since it’s my work and haven’t had an issue with any of my task.

I don’t even pay attention to that thing. Especially when like 1/2 the PAs I’ve done have a rubric I’m supposed to use. So of course it’s gonna be a partial match 🫠

If you read the WGU employees sub they aren't even allowed to check for it anymore, which is embarrassing to be honest

Because they were doing a terrible job. Many people complained they had to dumb down their writing, save their editing history a million more hoops to prove they didn’t use AI. There are a lot of schools that had to stop checking for it because it was wrongly accusing some students of cheating. A Stanford study showed it was wrong 60% of the time. Yale also no longer checks for it.

If it detects AI usage, you can still see it by inspecting the page in chrome with dev tools. But as others have stated before, even if it does have an alert, it’s pretty much useless.

For those unsure, here is a brief summary of the way AI creates these percentages:
Consider that most Americans (50%+) are reading below sixth grade.
These systems compare your work to the known averages of most American adults.
So, if you produce work similar to others at those literacy levels, the more likely you are to receive feedback from the AI that you have engaged in plagiarism. Even if you haven't.
Note: I am not making assumptions about anyone's level of intelligence or their work and credibility. This was an attempt at explaining how AI utilizes data and the way implicit biases tend to become more prominent as we put more information into it.
It is like putting data into an excel spreadsheet and being able to draw conclusions about it from the results. Humans understand that correlation ≠ causation, but AI is not nuanced enough to be able to see skewed results and apply nuance where it should be applied. This is why human introspection will continue to be a vital aspect of the way AI infrastructure is managed and implemented.

3.1% is not much honestly. I would submit it. It’s usually kicked back at 30% or more at other schools. I don’t think WGU checks for that anymore.

The truth is most everyone is using AI to a certain extent…including employers! All these job postings are created with AI, websites are written with AI content. “AI language” is becoming the norm so not talking like AI is getting impossible.
I just had a job interview and the hiring manager talked as if she used AI..no kidding. It was very obvious LOL!

Ive had one returned for ai ages ago. Meanwhile it was the one paper i didnt use ai for lmao. Most of the time i have chat guide my thoughts and help me phrase things in a proper manner but the work is definitely mine.

I’m Alumni. All my MHA assignments were 0% when I ran similarity EXCEPT 2 papers that were <2% (highlighted due to subheadings/something on title page etc). This is fine, honestly! I’ve terrible anxiety like you’d not believe and let me tell you I lost no sleep over <2%.
Please invest your energy elsewhere as you’ve absolutely nothing to worry about honestly. Good luck for the rest of your journey 🙏

The purposely turn it off because it’s so inaccurate. Something like wrong 60 percent of the time. MIT, Yale etc also turned them off for the same reason. That’s why it reads N/A
