Waterford Dungeons & Dragons Meetup

Hi everyone!
The Waterford D&D Meet-Up has had a bit of a boost in numbers and subsequent switch around in recent weeks, so it's about time we also started actively telling people who we are and grow even bigger.

We started playing D&D together in February 2023. We've expanded from one table a week to two and now we're regularly hosting five tables a week.
We've also expanded from D&D to include Monster of the Week, Stillfleet, Follow, War in the Year of the Dragon, Wanderhome, and a few attempts at beta testing some homebrew rules.
There are also plans to run Gumshoe, Avatar Legends, Renegades, Afterburner, and Never Stop Blowing Up in the near future.

If you'd like to join us, we're in Revolution every Tuesday, usually kicking off the games at 7pm.
You can find more information over at www.meetup.com/waterford-dnd-meetup, where you can also find the link to our Discord channel where we chat between (and sometimes during) games.

On the bridge this morning about to head up summer hill and the person In the white car coming down summer hill pulls this stint despite the green light in my favor not to mention there is no right turn onto the quay. I know I had plenty of time but it was a cheeky move none the less. Apologies for video quality I’ve no clue how to take footage from my CarPlay unit so I recorded it on my phone when I got to work.

Abbott Kilkenny from Waterford?

Is there anyone from Waterford working there? I started about 5 weeks ago iv been taking the train up and the bus home everyday.😔

I don't really mind I really like it there but it's really exhausting getting up before 4am, and this morning it was lashing rain and I was so miserable, and I'm gunna have to make my way from kilkenny station to Abbott in the rain once I get there.😭

If anyone is on my shift I'd be happy to pay there fuel, and grab lunch, and beers on our short weeks if that's something they would like to do maybe. 🍻

Hi,

I'm a Postgrad student going to UL this year. Wondering if anyone is commuting to Limerick as I haven't been able to find accommodation at all. I have 2 9am lectures so happy to be there as soon as possible. No issues putting money in for fuel.

Any help appreciated

'Leave the trees alone' pleads Waterford resident to local authority

so then narrowing roads, pulling trees out, encouraging scooter louts and creating a high risk of collision all in the name of active travel.

"The natural beauty of Paddy Browne’s Road was also on the mind of another concerned local who stated: “I also strongly object to the proposed removal of approximately 51 mature trees on Paddy Browne’s Road in order to facilitate the proposed cycling infrastructure and associated concrete/hard surfacing. The destruction of so many mature trees would have a significant environmental and visual impact while granting minimal travel benefits on this road.”

post offices that take drop2shop packages?

it’s my own fault for not having turned the option off on vinted, but i didn’t not think it’d be so difficult to ship the fucking thing. had no luck in portlaw, and kilmac doesn’t even show up on the drop2shop map so idk. the sale is worth less than a fiver, so i’m not overly bothered cancelling it, but i’ll try once more at another post office bc the buyer has been really nice to deal w so far. tia!

Deliciousness for a birthday

Where could we get some dessert for our combined birthdays and wedding anniversary? We already have a Sheridans hamper from my sister so we don’t need to go to Ardkeen so somewhere a little more specialist and cakey would be fun.

Uber Driver

Anyone else come across an Uber driver, who I've booked with twice now and each time instead of driving to the pickup spot he started going to the other side of town? I had to request a new driver each time.

Recommendation for dog groomer

I’m looking to find a new dog groomer, as we noticed the last couple of times after getting my dog back, he had razor rash but I wasnt sure if it was just due to him scratching as he has allergies. However after his recent haircut, he has scabs everywhere, his neck is cut badly and it wont heal as he keeps at it.

Unfortunately my dog has quite thick hair as he’s a cockapoo and we like to get his hair cut short every 3 months as he likes it short.

If anyone has any recommendations I’d really appreciate it.

Passage Rd/Lwr Newtown/Water St - Thoughts?

Gave it a go this morning dropping son to DLS.

Pinch point where both sides of Lwr Newtown and Alphonsus Rd meet - three streets of cars being fed into one lane going down Water St was crazy. Couldn’t see any right of way signs coming from Benildus side, don’t know what’s on the other side.

All this work done and money spent. Why did they not just stop parking on both sides of Passage Rd by the school and keep that two way? Put those school pencil bollards up or something. Same in Wilkin St - stop parking from Sweetbriar Pk down to Lwr Newtown with double yellow lines. That could have been kept two way then and would have cost a lot less and prevented the concrete jungle and driver frustration we have now.

I dunno 🙄

Prenup agreement

Hi everyone,
I know that prenup agreement doesn’t mean much in Ireland. I have my own reason for that.
If you could please
Let me know if you know a solicitor that do stuff like this. I tried ask some solicitor offices but they tell me they don’t do prenup agreement. Thank you

New House viewing - not possible until house sale completed.

Hi All, I am buying a new home. I’m currently at the snag stage and I’ve been told that I can’t access the property before the house sale has completed and the keys handed over, only the professional snagger is allowed on site.

I know this isn’t standard everywhere, and many developers do allow a brief supervised viewing once the house is substantially complete. In my case, the developer has a strict policy.

If anyone has been in a similar situation: what can I do, or what steps helped you, to secure a short supervised visit before the sale is completed?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences.
