I'm attending my first black tie attire wedding in Port St. Lucie in early December (4pm ceremony) and am struggling on finding a budget petite option. The Invite specifically says "Please note that the dress code for our event is Black Tie Attire. We kindly ask that guests dress in formal evening wear - black tuxedos or formal suits for gentlemen and black floor-length gowns or elegant formal attire for ladies" and has the attached photo for reference - clearly there's some leeway given the sheerness of the reference photo. I'm 4'11" and am considering this fully lined organza dress from JJs House (which I'm sure I'll be able to hem and still keep floor length). Would this be appropriate or still only considered informal given the fabric weight and dress code?

Picked out by the bride who has seen these pictures and loves it. I do like it but feel a bit self conscious. Thoughts?

This wedding is not formal but, I'm assuming, not casual. It's for this weekend and we were just told last week, so I'm trying not to spend anymore money THIS week lol.

This is a linen dress with a peekaboo where it ties in the front. Everything I'm googling says black, spaghetti strap is fine, but is there a way I can make this more... wedding-y? It's a morning beach wedding and a reception in the afternoon at a hall.

Do i need to go shopping? Is hair up too casual? Is the silver/white gold not beachy enough? Idk. Honestly I don't think anyone will tell me anything, but I don't want to stand out.

^{^} this. Flew from Mykonos to Milan today and my bag did not make it. I’m officiating a wedding tomorrow in Tuscany, so time is of the essence. I need advice on shops where I can find both a black tie (conservative, elegant) gown to officiate in along with a cocktail dress.

Also will need everything else that goes along with it (shoes, makeup, etc.)

Any advice is welcome !!!!

Hello I am attending an outdoor wedding in the woods this fall. The invite said LOTR/Middle earth attire encouraged but not required. Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

I fear mosquitos in the woods and being cold so I don’t want to be bare legs/shoulders/arms.

I am not really interested in dressing up for the theme.

Hi, I was invited to a wedding and the dress code was stated as: “This event is black tie optional, think Art Deco or Old Hollywood for inspiration.” While I kind of understand art deco, I don’t think I understand old Hollywood or how either of those things relate in the context of ‘black tie optional.’ I’m not sure if anyone can help me understand that range of what would be acceptable for this event? I don’t want to stick out but I also don’t think I currently own anything that fits that fits the requirement. Any advice would be great!
