Welding tips keep welding closed??
I do wire MIG and just last week, I got moved to another area using these Lincoln welders. I’ve only ever used miller, I know how to set those. Since I’ve been in this spot, I’ve been changing tips and diffusers and nozzles at least twice, if not three+ over a 10hour shift. What should I be doing different?
On millers, I run 27v with my speed at about 550. These settings on the Lincoln don’t make sense to me, and my team lead says he doesn’t know shit about these Lincoln’s either, they’re “new” apparently

We make garbage trucks. The metal is like 1/8” thick I believe

I would run like 26 and like 260 wire speed if you don't have a wps to work to

Voltage and feed rate doesn't change when you change welding machine brands.
Miller vs Lincoln doesn't change physics.
If you're suddenly dealing with burn back, it's probably the tensioner or the liner.

You have trim displayed instead of volts I believe. If you're burning through tips check your burn back setting, I believe there is one on these feeders. And as other said check roller tension.

Check to see what the burnback settings are if it has them. I had an old Lincoln that had that option that was really fucking up some of the welders that used it and didn’t know about it.

Just something to look into. I normally ran a Miller 350P too so I’ve always been more familiar with Miller vs Lincoln.
Dabbled in both though.

So that knob in the middle changes your wire and process settings. Trim is at .97 which means you're on a pulse setting, swich it to 18 in the middle for RapidArc Pulse .045 wire, 21 For CV .045, or 13 for .035 wire RapidArc, and 11 for CV .035

To me it looks like your running your volts to high. What diameter is your wire? The base material also looks heavier than 10ga. Looks like it could be 1/4” or better.

We run similar Lincoln's at work doing CV Spray Transfer. Setting 21 on these machines. C10 gas. Don't have too many issues with burning up tips unless the feeder wheels are slipping or a glob of spatter shoots up the tip. I have two settings:
Hot/CJP setting: 420 WFS in IPM, 28.5V, Pinch 2.7, 1 second preflow, .05 second burn back, 1 second post flow. No spot, crater or run in settings used.
Normal Fillet setting: All the same except 385 WFS in IPM and 27.5V

Your wire speed should come down to under 300. Are you spray transferring?!?

Trick on these is to set the tensioner to just below the 2nd line. Enoughit wont jam when you burn back. I'll look in the manual later but Burn back is usually the liner in your gun. What type of gun are you running?
