Except they are normally some garbage temu tents that only last about 1 festival

And at every other major festival and protest march and street party and every beach during summer etc etc

now consider how little we, as a society, discuss waste management and disposal, to the point where we have a flytipping epidemic that is only just starting to break national news and a looming crisis of exported waste, which we have been dumping on poorer nations for decades and now the local populaces have begun to become conscious of the dynamic at play and (rightly) reject their place in it

Another commenter mentioned, that it was like this also in 2008 - I mean I remember this as well from Central Europe, but starting latest 2010 - it changed - the last festival I was at, (3 weeks ago) was in an environmental protection zone, and the punks left it as squeaky clean as it was when we arrived, maybe even cleaner ....

I’m a huge fan of recycling and taking care of Mother Earth.
I’m all for taxing big corporations who pollute.

Yeah, but this time it's gone viral. This time you have countless event organizers and festival fans around the world chiming in. They have systems in place to prevent messes and they clean up after themselves. They expected the English, of all people, to be proper and clean up too. Seeing this is a combination of culture shock and straight up disgust. This is embarrassing.
