I went to download fest this year, and It was nowhere near as bad as this: if people didn’t want to keep their stuff, there were areas around the camp sites you could leave it.
If you wanted to help yourself to the “junk”, you were free to.

It absolutely depends on the festival. Hardly anything gets left behind at Summer Breeze Open Air.

okay, I get there isn't literally a "festival for reading" but is there a town called "download" with a festival, too??

No no, though it would have been amusing: it takes place at donington park in Leicestershire
