Hangovers. Leaving a festival is rough at the best of times. I've never left a tent behind, but I've certainly been tempted to.

I really don't understand drinking at festivals.

A gig or day event... but multi day festivals? Just take drugs and wake up fresh... no queuing, way cheaper, no bloating...I like a drink but it's an awful fit for festivals.

Lmao wake up fresh as a daisy after a 4 day hard drug bender? Maybe if you're like 18 or something it's possible if you take it real easy with just a few bumps of coke and do one night on one night off but most people are not waking up feeling fresh after a big night on the molly, let alone going hard from thursday to sunday. Plenty of people would barely be sleeping at all. We're talking festival drugs like molly, coke, ket etc not smoking a few joints and having an early night.

I just take a massive dose of mushrooms, lose my mind for a few hours, then I'm stoned, then I'm buzzing...

I'll maybe take a bit of mdma if it's offered, but it's not a primary thing.

I always wake up fresh and healed, it's actually like therapy doing big doses of shrooms over many days.

I've done psychedelics before, tried acid, shrooms, DMT etc but never again. Friend of mine who had done shrooms/acid several times before did a pretty normal amount one night and had a complete psychotic break. Couldn't sleep for 5 days in a row and got increasingly more insane as the days went on. Everyone else had the same mushroom tea and nothing bad happened to them, just him. Had to be hospitalized and medically sedated and ended up on antipsychotics for a couple years after that. Messed up his life quite badly and he still always seemed a bit different after that. The idea of something like that happening or getting hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD) has put me off doing them entirely. Never felt great the next day after taking them either, always needed like a solid 48hrs of just resting in bed to feel completely back to normal.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, that must have been difficult for you to experience and I can understand why it would make you apprehensive.

But I think such extreme reactions are in a minority and affect people with a preexisting vulnerability... admittedly we don't know who is vulnerable to them or not.

I was very careful with my intro to them and built up doses at home and processed a lot of the feelings in a safe way before I started to use them recreationally.

...Plus the safety profile is simply much better... just think how many people are harmed by other drugs. But of course I'm a huge advocate of moderation and care with all drugs.

I mean I remember my first time on MDMA and that left me seeing things for weeks, it put me off ALL drugs for years.
