What was the point of teaching American high schoolers the woes of unfettered capitalism, and greed of the robber barron’s of the gilded industrial age, and the dangers of corporate monopolies if boomers, Gen X, and older millennials were just going to turn around and do all of those things anyway, but worse this time around with Big Brother making sure we can’t or won’t stop them.

I am an older millennial and that is some bullshit. Zuck and his ilk may be elder millennials but they are not representative of us as a whole. I was born in 1986 and I graduated college three months before the 2008 crash. We couldn’t get healthcare until we elected Obama.
You sound like the boomer, trying to blame millennials for fucking up the economy. Call us cringe all you want but that doesn’t change the stats.

I believe that there is a cover-up just to be clear - but wouldn’t any prominent politician in hospital, especially when receiving intensive care, be in a room that is fully locked down with only screened staff able to come in? I would think that’s just a standard security protocol. I personally do not find that detail highly suspicious.

We are living in different times. An entire state of millions are not being told if their Senatortoise is alive or dead. Somebody has to sneak a photo or spill the beans. → More replies (2)106
u/DefinitelyNotAliens Jul 10 '26
Point is, EMTs would get fired. It's why they're interviewing neighbors.
You're asking nurses, doctors, and EMTs to get fired.
That isn't just, "oh, I accidentally told the brother of the patient protected information." It's not an unlocked computer. It's fully, willfully, going to the media to discuss a public figure's private health information.
They will absolutely get fired, it will be reported to the licensing board and they will have that noted. Their career is over.
You're asking someone to put their license at risk of suspension. State boards can suspend or revoke licenses for HIPAA violations if they are deemed severe enough.
Taking a public figure's health information to the media is absolutely one such thing. It doesn't matter why.
Who is going to risk revocation of their license?
52
u/PrawojazdyVtrumpets Jul 10 '26
Multiple celebrities have had their records leaked. Clooney, Kardashian, entire sports teams have had their drug tests leaked. Sometimes people get fired, a whole hospital got fired for accessing Clooneys emr. Sometimes no one does (Kardashian) and sometimes people do it and brag about it or demand a ransom before leaking (Drug test leaks).
Some people who have access to an emr are so low level, they don't care if they lose their job and they have nothing to be sued over. It can happen.

His constituents deserve “proof of life” because his vote in the senate crucial. That’s all I’m actually saying.
I ask this to you. Should Scott Jennings and other people who claimed to speak to Mitch for 29 minutes lose their jobs if Mitch is found to be in a coma or brain dead for a month?
It’s hypothetical but they would be willfully lying to 10’s of millions of people about an elected official. Why is the goalpost only moved when republicans lie?

technically they could all look the other way to people coming on the unit but they would still be fired. really the only “hope” there is, is for some other patient or family member from that unit to speak out. & even then, it’s not like it’s verifiable.
what we need is legislation that an in house appearance, is required if a certain number of votes are missed, otherwise the position is forfeit and a special election is held. if you can’t show up for the job then the people are without representation. shit honestly reps should only be allowed to miss a certain amount of votes period

"They had a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security," a Thune spokesperson said.
Barrasso spokesperson Kate Noyes said the two discussed a number of topics, including recent sexual assault allegations against Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner (allegations Platner has denied) and national defense spending, during a 20-minute phone conversation on Tuesday afternoon.
"They caught up about the latest news impacting Senate races, the Graham Platner scandal, and the recent Supreme Court ruling on coordinated spending limits. They also discussed the Senate's July work period, including the need to pass the NDAA and confirm President Trump's nominee for Director of National Intelligence," Noyes said. Cardiac arrest was heard in the dispatch call. Yet again, the media and GOP split hairs on small details to downplay the seriousness of the situation.
"A heart attack is a circulation problem where blood flow to the heart is blocked. Cardiac arrest is an electrical problem where the heart suddenly stops beating altogether. While a heart attack damages heart muscle, cardiac arrest is fatal within minutes without immediate intervention."

There is no law...that's the point, and they purposely won't add clauses or amendments to the Constitution, because even in death they want to hold power.
The 25th Amendment of the Constitution only applies to the President. Members of Congress have to expelled by 2/3, resign or have proof of death, and there is no investigative avenue to prove life.

If this had been Biden, the NYT would be feasting on every sentence reported.

Just schedule the election to replace him! If he’s alive, he can come prove it. But just schedule things as if he did pass away and assume we’re moving on. It’s not that hard force the issue

Bashear needs to call the election. If Mitch is alive he can prove it.

u/Auntie_M123 Jul 10 '26
Good point. He is collecting a Senate salary and probably has other income streams such as social security. It would be committing fraud to continue with these income sources if he is no longer alive.

I love the fact that they are disrespecting him by keeping him alive. All to preserve a seat in the govt. No grave, no plot, no headstone. 😈

Nah he probably wrote a codicil in his will just for this occasion

I would urge anyone that lives in Kentucky to call Andy Beshear's office and urge him to start the process for a special election due to McConnell being unable to fulfill his duties. Let the Republicans prove otherwise if they can.

Where is his wife? Has she been seen visiting the hospital?
Edit: here is her statement made earlier today (7/10/26)… telling in its absence of detail and clear language. If he is [insert latest theory] then there is no warranting an immediate return? If he is healthy and cranky and bothering the hospital staff with demands for a sponge bath, that too doesn’t warrant a return…
“The senator's health did not warrant an immediate return to the U.S."

u/fuzzygoosejuice Jul 10 '26
She had to get back to China before we all find out how much she was using her marriage to Mitch for espionage purposes.

I mean all of the "it's Mitch McConnell" part aside, imagine your spouse is old and already in bad health. If he is still alive, how bad does she have to not give a shit that he was found unresponsive and sent to the hospital, and her reasoning to not come home is "eh no biggie." Like, does that make any sense? It would make sense if he is dead because then, yeah, why rush back? But your spouse is brought to a hospital after a significant cardiac event, in what world is that not a "come home" or "cut the trip short" emergency? Either you hate your husband, or he's dead in some capacity. I guess the inbetween is a possibility, but how damn bizarre is that..?

Andy Beshear should schedule the special election and make them prove he's alive.

He's dead and has been for days. Sick that they're using this as a political play. No humanity

u/SwimRelevant4590 Jul 10 '26
Mitch has been brain dead since 1982. Body's just catching up now.

sadly no. The evil turtle is/was actually quite clever. If he was stupid he wouldn't have been anywhere near as destructive.

Watch we get an AI Mitch video in the next couple days of him Harlem shaking in the hospital.
Likely he is just a vegetable, just not the sexy AI vegetable

We really need to get more aggressive with pushing to vacate seats for people too old to do the job.

You know what the funniest part of this is? Mitch is dead and the GOP is using his lifeless corpse to obstruct democracy. It’s an oddly sweet tribute to who he was in life. I’m sure Ol’ Mitch would be proud 🥲.

Just because they are telling us he is “in the hospital” doesn’t mean it’s true.
Laws prevent us from confirming a hospital stay and laws also prevent us from accessing information from the coroner’s office.
He’s gone and they are covering it up.

So, what are we gonna do about all the folks that said they had a 20-minute conversation with him this week once we find out he's been dead the whole time? Like, how in the fuck can they spin that?

I've said this several times, but the leaked audio talked about CPR. Chest compressions on a frail 80-something are 100% a last resort. If you're Mitch, and you got CPR, you're not going to back to work if you survive, you're in hospice, because you have broken ribs. You're certainly not having conversations with your "friend" Scott Jennings.
(Literally no one is friends with Scott Jennings)

It's insane how many people truly know and it hasn't been released. By now the hospital would have submitted billing to his insurance companies with all their administrative staff. If he has died there is a death certificate on file with DC. I understand the significance of HIPAA but given his position SOMEONE would be a hero by releasing his status. This is a national security issue.
McConnell's staff knows and are running a shadow show, not to mention that John Thune, Trump and their staffers know. Susie Wiles knows. Our government is hiding information on our employee to rig an election.
Everyone who knows, know you are complicit. We will not forget.

Gotta be honest . . . I bet they told trump that he’s expected to recover. Hiding delicate information from trump is a maga tradition at this point. McConnell’s body is likely secured in Stephen miller’s walk in refrigerator, where he stores his skin suits.

We could be looking at a Terri Schiavo situation. The brain is dead, but the body is still alive. So, they're keeping Mitch on life support long enough to do whatever needs to be done, politically.

This is an excellent use case for those recording glasses. Numerous attendants must be dealing with Mitch on the daily, if he’s alive.

u/Penguinz90 Jul 10 '26
I saw the video and thought “they are taking out a dead man”. They are not administering CPR, no rush once he was in the ambulance to get going….he is dead and every member of congress that says they spoke with him needs to resign.
