My color scheme for my divergent chapter, the Thunder Singers.

I've been trying to do some recess shading with my 30k White Scars and been struggling with some parts. The general white armour I've been shading with Soulblight and it's gone fairly well, but on this batch of models I've been trying to do some shading for the shoulder pads where the red meets the white and really can't find something that works - it either comes out too light or too splotchy. So far I've tried:

• Nuln Oil (First pic)
• Agrax Earthshade (Second pic)
• Carroburg Crimson (Third pic)

However I've just not been able to get any of them to work. I've tried following as many guides as I can find but I can't get a solid answer on what I've done wrong - too much / too little paint, the wrong kind of paint/wash, wrong brush size (I've been using Rosemary and Co Series 33 sizes 0 and 1), wetting the surface beforehand and wiping away excess

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I've really been enjoying painting up my WS and want to try get past this roadblock.

I’m primarily a Space Wolf player and have over the course of the last year or so- found myself slowly collection the fundamental pieces of what I believe to be a White Scars army.

My goal is to avoid going over 3250 (current) points. The aim is to fill the army with THEMATIC units, or units that I have faith I can add Mongolian flavor into to make them thematic enough.

After theme is secured, I want to know what units can supplement weaknesses generated by the army’s theme that I can resolve without reducing theme.

(Example: Outriders don’t do armor cracking very well, so I need to resolve that. A Dreadnought is very much not in White Scars theme- but a Thunderstrike Stormspeeder and Attack ATV’s are.)

I would prefer to not add “Heavy Armor” via Repulsors, Terminators, etc. nor do I want to add too many more jump packs (leaving those to Raven Guard and Blood Angels)

I could add Sternguard, Inceptors, ATV’s, or Desolation Squads- or if they felt essential lighter tanks like Gladiators… the Rhino may be added in as they will be able to take Tacticus armor in the new codex (I’ve heard), but will wait for a new kit there first.

I want to hear from you all to see if there are units I haven’t mentioned you think really need to be in a White Scars army!

P.S. I recognize that new codex means new rules and abilities, and OoM going away for the believed Combat Doctrines. I’m not needing “hard meta” guides but generalized areas you think the army COULD struggle.

Nearly finished painting up the Vanguard Vets from Armageddon. From day 1, I wanted to try a darker colour scheme that would look good next to the Chaplain, so here is my idea of an Ebon Keshig inspired armour.

Trying to think up some personal lore that would fit, like they were specially selected by the Chaplain as initiates or something along those lines. Still a work in progress whilst I finish up last details, but would appreciate any feedback and further ideas I could include.

I've seen a bunch of people talking on Ticktock about who they'd cast as the Primarchs in the new Warhammer stuff. Several want Jason Momoa for Jaghatai Khan. Well i think Ma Dong-Seok is perfect for the White Scars Primarch. As a Black Templar fan I wanted y'alls opinion on my choice for y'alls primarch?

Question has anyone attempted to put Suboden on to wazdakkas bike? And would it sit on the same base if we squeezed it on?

I always wondered where GW got the inspiration for the White Scars color scheme until the other day when I was looking for reference materials for a commission of Quan Zhou and came across Potala Palace. Anyone know of GW ever stated the design framework behind the Scars colors? (Not the in universe reason)

I mainly play WEs and slowly building a Tyranids army currently at 1k. Started near the end of 10th after taking a 15yr+ break at the end of 5th playing nothing but CSM/WEs. . Found a gem of a battleforce: Shieldbreaker online at MRSP and leapt at the chance to grab it. Anyways.

Wanted to go 100% speeders, but after testing in TTS against my WEs list. (by myself) The thunder strike and hammer strike seem to be niche units (but that might be my inexperience with SMs), but might replace one of the reg speeders with one of the ladder for a little bit of punch if I need it.

I'm not very competitive; went to my first local last month and went 0-3 with my WEs, but still would love some constructive criticism.

Hi all, given the stormraven going to legends, I have given up on my brutalis dead drop in my army. Keep in mind im not a competitive player just want to do cool and fun stuff.

I have been toying around with the new Librarius detachment instead of the land speeder one since storm seers are also a big part of our army and the new psychic table is potentially exciting. How would you play my list? I really like the Biomancy option for 2” moves.

The sternguard would be in the land raider and the blade guard in the impulsor. Would the land raider get the additional 2” benefit from biomancy?

So I got into tabletop a couple months ago and haven't been super happy with many paint jobs, 5 rubrics where my first models from the tsons combat patrol. I eventually decided to play with scars cause I loved their heresy books, I painted a couple resin printed bikes and some assault intercessors that were okay but had some print quality issues keeping them from being better. I am super happy with my last two models (techmarine and invictor) and just wanted to share the latter here to ask for any advise and just to share the work
