I made a tiny AI detox camp game for people who need a break from AI

Hi! I use AI a lot for work and personal projects, but sometimes I just want somewhere that gently reminds me to step away for a while.

So I made Quiet Pines, a small old-school pixel RPG-style AI detox camp. You create a camper, choose how long you want to stay away from AI, make a personal pledge, and wander around doing little activities such as fishing, listening for forest sounds, gardening, writing, and sitting quietly.

There are animals, wandering companions, calm music, certificates, a timeless sanctuary mode, and postcard links that let friends' campers visit your campsite. It is completely free, requires no account, has no tracking, and keeps your camp data in your browser.

It is not an anti-AI project or a productivity challenge. It is just a cozy little reminder that taking a break is allowed.

Play it here:

https://quiet-pines.strollbythe.stream

You can also let my camper visit using this postcard:

https://quiet-pines.strollbythe.stream/?postcard=QPC1.eyJjYW1wZXIiOiJKdW5pcGVyIEJ1bm55IDM5Iiwic2NvcmUiOjMwNSwiZW5kQXQiOjE3ODc4Mzk3NzgwMjksImF2YXRhciI6eyJza2luIjo0LCJmYWNlIjoyLCJoYWlyIjo1LCJzaGlydCI6MSwiaGF0Ijo3LCJhY2Nlc3NvcnkiOjIsImhlbGQiOjJ9LCJzdGF5IjpmYWxzZSwic291cmNlSWQiOiIxN3BtYm9qIn0.112o8a3

It is still growing, so I would genuinely love feedback, especially around what would make it feel calmer, cozier, or more welcoming.

Little Cauldron Cafe

Thumbnail

Hey everyone! I'm so excited about this! I've been building a cozy little game called Little Cauldron Cafe — a kawaii-styled potion café sim for iOS. No fail states, no timers, no pressure: tap ingredients into a cauldron, brew, collect potions, decorate your rooms as they open up. It's for Halloween lovers that wish it could be Halloween all year round.

It's live in TestFlight now and I'd love a few more people to try it and tell me what feels off, confusing, or just doesn't work.

What's in the build right now:

  • Four explorable rooms (Main Cafe, Greenhouse Nook, Reading Corner, Attic Loft), each with its own ingredients, recipes, and vibe
  • A recipe journal that turns into a keepsake book once you've completed a room
  • A daily rotating "Daily Brew" with its own little gift-reveal moment
  • A growing collection system (favorites, charms) and cozy ambient touches — crickets, fireflies, a wandering café cat

No account needed, nothing to configure — just tap in and start brewing.

Genuinely appreciate any feedback, even the small stuff — TestFlight's built-in screenshot feedback works great for that.

Would you play this game if it were developed more?

Thank you!

We're building a family-friendly game where you build & manage a national park while learning fun nature facts. Proceeds benefit the National Park Foundation!

It's called National Park Tycoon and we hope to release it by the end of the year! We want it to feel like a nostalgic 2d game for millenials who used to play games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, and it will be appropriate for kids ages 8+ or so.

The basic gameplay is:

  • You start with a pre-built land modeled after a real life national park, and you have to start building it into a functioning national park that visitors will enjoy while balancing the preservation of nature and wildlife.
  • You can build hiking trails, campgrounds, scenic viewpoints, activities, and park amenities while managing your park's staff (rangers), wildlife populations and finances.
  • You have 3 objectives to meet in order to "beat" the park and unlock the next park. They could be financial like "Earn $25,000 in gift shop sales," visitor-satisfaction related like "Maintain an average visitor Excitement score of 90% for one week", or nature-focused like "Welcome 3 new deer to your park.
  • If you don't want to play the objectives, there is a Sandbox mode where you can have unlimited money and just build up the terrain however you'd like and open up your park for visitors and play for fun as long as you'd like!

For the educational aspect - aside from the financial management (balancing revenue and expenses), every time you place an interpretive sign along a trail, you learn a fun fact about a plant or animal that is near the sign. And if you watch your visitors, they will sometimes stop and look at things through their binoculars and exclaim, "Wow! A peregrine falcon! They can dive faster than a race car can drive!" so you can learn cool facts that way too.

If you love national parks/nature, gaming and/or are nostalgic for early 2000's tycoon games or have kids that might enjoy this game, we would love if you could wishlist it on Steam!

Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4520000/National_Park_Tycoon/

Our social links are on the Steam page if you’d like to follow our progress. I'm happy to answer any questions or listen to any suggestions anyone might have about the game :)

We pledge to donate a percentage of profits to the National Park Foundation to aid in the protection and preservation of America's beautiful national parks.

Need some cozy graphistic novel/games like "And Roger

I'm not much of a gamer. I got sick two weeks ago and was feeling pretty bad about my health, and after playing this game, I am very grateful and feeling better. Need some more games like this, not necessarily the same plot but something that keeps my mind diverted.

This is one of the plants that grow on tree trunks. It appears and disappears smoothly. It's a rather mesmerizing process, adding a touch of life to the island. :)

Cloudgazer: A Game About Watching Clouds launches September 3rd on Steam, mobile, and as a book!

Have you ever looked up at the sky and thought, "That's obviously a dinosaur"? Congratulations, you already know how to play.

Cloudgazer: A Game About Watching Clouds is a sky-gazing simulator where your only goal is to relax, watch the clouds, and discover the hundreds of hidden shapes drifting above you. No rush. No enemies. No explosions. Just you, the sky, and your imagination.

And yes, before you ask: we also recommend watching real clouds whenever you can. The graphics are amazing, and most of the time, they work pretty well.

But we know that's not always possible. Maybe there aren't any clouds where you live today. Maybe your window faces the building next door. Maybe you can't go outside. Or maybe you just feel like enjoying a perfect sky from the comfort of your couch.

That's exactly what Cloudgazer is for.

The Village — My Village Survival Sim (First Look)

First look at The Village, a cozy little village survival sim I've been building solo. Every villager is fully autonomous - they take jobs, path around the map, gather wood and food, and manage their own needs. Your job as the "mayor" is to keep them fed, housed, and stocked with enough materials to survive when the seasons turn.

Sharing the build in public and would love feedback!

Free Virtual Pet Site

Hey Reddit Community,

Whimsy is a small, independently created virtual pet game that was built from a love of cute creatures, cozy gardens, and a little imagination. On Whimsy, you can collect, breed and show cute pets, grow a garden and play games! It's a cozy, no pressure game that can provide a sweet little escape from the stress of daily life. 🙂

Some of the artwork in Whimsy was created with the help of generative AI. I know AI art is a complicated and sometimes controversial subject, and I respect that people have different feelings about it.

For me, AI is a creative tool that allows me to bring characters and ideas to life that I wouldn't otherwise have the artistic skills or resources to create myself. The creatures, world, gameplay, and creative direction behind Whimsy are all part of the project I dreamed up and built.

I'm also continuing to learn about the concerns surrounding AI and the artists whose work has helped shape the creative world we all enjoy.

If AI-generated artwork isn't for you, I completely understand. But if you're willing to give Whimsy a chance, I hope you'll find that there's a whole lot more to it than how the pictures were made. 🐾🌱✨ Also, if you're an artist that is interested in collaborating, please don't hesitate to reach out! ❤️

Need advice on my game🙏🏻

Hey guys! Im currently making a cozy farming survival game and I was wondering, especially for those of you who played Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and games like that I have two questions that have been keeping up at night:
1. Is fishing/catching part of the game important for you? Im considering adding it soon, but would like to see first.
2. How do you feel about saving when going to sleep? Is it stressful for you when you can’t save whenever in this kind of farming game?

Thanks guys!😊

My new toy organizing game is out! 🧸🧹 (No AI)

If you enjoyed Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!, we recently released our own take on this type of game, except ours is set inside a massive toy shop.

The shop is an absolute mess, with 5,517 toys scattered everywhere. Your job is to work out where they belong and slowly put the place back together. There are sections for dinosaurs, toy cars, board games, snacks and plenty of other toys.

You start out moving everything by hand, but it gets much quicker as you unlock upgrades. Later, you can hire robots to help with the sorting, use drones to carry your toys, or use a rideable toy train to carry larger loads around the shop.

Too Many Toys! is out now on Steam:

looking for my desktop companion audience!

steam recently added desktop companions as its own category, and I thought I would be able to maximize this to put my game out there. I’ve also made several posts to advertise my game already and tbh they haven’t gotten much traction. I’m genuinely curious if there’s actually an audience for this genre.

It's either that or I still need much improvement on my art and advertising! still, I will make more posts about my game and hope to reach my target audience!

this is a game I'm working on with my partner called Desktopper! this is really meant to be just a cozy, social game where people from anywhere can connect and chill with each other. you can be working on something, playing a game, watching youtube, studying, or whatever and meanwhile there are other people hanging out down on your taskbar with you!

note: to earn currency, you randomly gain coins from clicking on your screen as you work on something on your desktop!

sometimes you just want to feel like you’re around other people, and that's what my true goal is with this game!

I'd really appreciate the people who come across my post to come check Desktopper! out :D I’d love to hear what people think, especially from people who already use desktop companions.

we're actively working on it. there are a bunch of things I'd love to know could be improved, could be added, could be changed, so if you're interested, please come playtest for us!

and btw, we're planning to make the game completely free on release!
