Practice Makes Perfect - Getting Experience

Hi there, I'm new to caring for wigs, but the salon I took a care course with, requires the students to pay for time in the salon, which is out of my price range. Does anyone have any practical ideas for how to gain experience with washing, styling and setting in Chicago area? I posted on FB.
