Misc PG mods?

My daughter loves Ciri, and wants to watch me play Witcher 3. However, there obviously is a lot of blood, gore, nudity, language, etc.

I did buy her The Little Witcher book, and she loved that.

Curious if a PG type mod exists?

Sorry if this the wrong sub!

Not the reply you were asking for, but the concept of having a presumably young daughter who loves Ciri is so cute. I hope she'll be old enough to enjoy the 4th game when it comes out.

Unfortunately not, she's 7 haha. I write stories for her where she helps Geralt and Ciri fight monsters, save the world, etc.

Honest question: Are you serious or is this a bait question?

You want a 7 year old girl play through THIS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EomaT9bpKpg&t=360

OP: Looking for a child friendly mod

“You let your child play through a non child friendly game?”

A pg mod, allowing her to free roam. If no PG mod, then she wouldn't play lol.

Depending on the age of your child I still would not recommend this game for her. Think for example of the scene where Geralt finds Wh***son Junior. Even if you remove the blood and add a bit of underwear, this is not made for a child. There are many topics unsuited for children in this game, it is not their visualization alone that can be traumatizing.

No, of course many quests I would not allow her to play, but im thinking you know, more free play and fighting monsters and bad guys.

Finding Junior, the scene I mentioned, is a main quest. She cannot avoid to play it if she tries to finish the game.

She wouldn't do the story, just free roam. If she wanted to do thr story, I would jjsy do certain quests when she's not around.

Right?? Mans got a woman hanging from a noose while he chills in the bath. Not to mention profanity littered throughout the whole game

This is a game that has hanged med everywhere in villages, a tree with hanged men and a quest to search for cadavers. I really don't think this series is appropiate, it is quite literally heavy with violence because that is the point of war. You can't remove that, it is THE content and the lore.

This may not be the answer you wanna hear, but I would wait until you're more.comfortable to show her explicit content because there's no avoiding some terrible scenes even with a gore and profanity mod. You'd have to remove complete quests, some of which are in the main arcs.

For sure. Im doing research just trying to see what options are. Im not too concerned about quests, I would be controlling that, and obviously she wouldn't be playing without supervision. I was just thinking free riding and fighting monsters.

Install the nudity and gore removal mod and just let her roam around the free roam, The main story and side quests have a lot of violent and sexual themes.

Exactly my thoughts.

I haven't personally tried it but look at wolven trainer.

My 10 year old plays red dead redemption 2 with the rampage trainer and the trainers seem similar. She just spawns in horses and dogs and walks around with them and sometimes goes fishing.

It's another game that's definitely not suitable for her played normally but with some mods and supervision It's completely fine.

Exactly my thought process!

Just wanted to note, I understand that the themes and quests can still be mature, but I was thinking more free play, free roam where she can fight monsters, etc.

Look, if you REALLY want your child to play this at the age of 7, I would recommend to let her do some exploring and some of the funnier side quests in the B&W DLC. Something like "Paper chase" or "Portrait of the Witcher as an old man". I don´t know how good you know this game, but there are a few quests in Toussaint that are not that dark.

That's the idea, it would be free roam, and I would of course be there to guide her and make sure she doesn't take on any quests.

Well, I don't think you can turn the game PG. So, I'm afraid, for now you can tell your daughter the tale of cat and fox instead.

I would just let her roam in Toussaint after the Blood And Wine is done. Or maybe Skellige after you finish the main quests. It's the safest option because in Velen we have a war torn country with lots of adult themes and corpses everywhere and Novigrad has a mania with witch burning.

Add lots of armor and horse equipment and let her have fun with dressing Geralt and Roach.

Alot of people without kids obviously responding . The dad has his mod and now he can supervise his kid having short Witcher sessions without completing quests. Good outcome.

How do you know the people who have their doubts whether the themes of this game are suited for a 7 year old child are childless?

-1

u/RodgerThat6543 9h ago

If a 7yo wants to ride around on a horse and explore an open world game with her dad monitoring her game play while using the PG mod (which he went out of the way to enquire about) than it's not hurting anyone. It's valuable father/daughter time for something she's interested in. Sounds like good parenting to me.

You are clearly avoiding my question here. I repeat: How do you know the people who have their doubts whether the themes of this game are suited for a 7 year old child are childless?

If a 7yo wants to ride around on a horse and explore an open world

Only that we are talking about an FSK18 open world - and this not just because the nudity and blood that can be removed by a mod. It is a world full of rape, murder, betrayal, war crimes, racism and traumatizing monsters.

You seem triggered.

a gore-removal mod would be a neat thing for people who just don't want to look at blood and guts, while still enjoying the series. Don't be an asshole.

and sorry OP, but I don't know of such mods, wish you luck tho!

u/Irrumar 10h ago

While I dont really mind, I think sometimes you cant just remove the gore to skip the brutal content. The game gets very dark thematically.

Like cool, you dont see a decapitation anymore. Here have a questline about domestic abuse, alcoholism, dead fetuses, child sacrifice, cannibalism and suicide.

Doesn’t mean you should be showing all that gore and nudity to a child, what do you not understand here?
