Help! Just getting started
Any tips you guys can give me? I'm super confused by the alchemy stuff. I also been having trouble with gwent. I'm on the mission where you find the witches in the bog but I feel like I've been messing up the whole time already. I'm level 7 btw

Explore. Remember to look at secondary quests, contracts, and treasure hunts. I thought I followed the main quests way too quickly. Alchemy was confusing at first, but you basically loot everything in chests, plants, and your monsters guts. Once you create a potion or oil, you have it forever. You do have to meditate to bring the quantities back up. Using potions and oils help drastically during combat. Your "character" chart will have ability points. Signs, combat, Alchemy, and I forgot the other one. If you like using signs those can be beneficial. And definitely spend points in combat. READ EVERYTHING. Loot everything and sell the stuff you dont need. Remember armors will pay more for armor, blacksmith will pay more for weapons, ect. The beastiary also helps determine what will injure your enemy in the most helpful way. As for gwent, it took me roughly 160 hours of gameplay before I actually tried. It was so intimidating to me. The best way I learned to play was watching a couple YouTube videos. Now im addicted. And last but not least, PUT THE BABY IN THE OVEN!

I could say "Figuring it out for yourself is a part of the adventure of the experience."
Or I could give you this link...

It feels like you may be rushing the main story without taking your time. Do some side things, go exploring and try to learn the crafting, alchemy mechanics also. You're at a point now where you can just "mess about", You've done the initial areas and settling in, so now you can do your own thing. Honestly don't bother with the main story for a bit, take some time off and check out the game world

Story/Quest Tips
"There will come a time when she will come to you defeated. Resigned. Find a way to make her laugh."
"There will come a time when one will betray her. Let her vent her rage."
"There will come a time when she will grieve for a friend. Grieve with her."
"There will come a time when fead will engulf her. Instill courage in her, but do not act in her stead."
"Never, ever, let her feel as if you've sold her out."
Put the baby in the oven.
Don't shove Djikstra.
Play at the Gwent tournament when attending a party with Triss.
Always have Delusion in your ability slots when not in combat.
General Tips
Merchants will pay more for their specialty items. Sell common weapons to blacksmith, not innkeeper or herbalist.
Don't sell anything with 0 weight. Those are crafting materials. Dismantle any unused Magic (yellow) or Relic (orange) equipment.
Buy all Witcher gear map, Alchemy formula and Gwent cards. Ignore the rest.
When haggling for rewards, always ask for the highest price, then adjust based on annoyance meter (e.g. if the meter rise by 70%, lower your the slide to less than 30%).
