I recently purchased a 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL V6. The vehicle currently has 103000 miles. Jeep ran OK when purchased. I noticed a ticking noise on the passenger bank. So I inspected the valve train, and found one bad income lifter on the passenger bank, which I replaced. The remaining valve train looked to be in very good condition. I completed a thorough servicing of the vehicle (fluids, filters, etc.). The previous owner stated he replaced the plugs and injectors just prior to 100k miles.

After I completed the valve train work and servicing, the vehicle seemed to run fine. Then several days later, I got a check engine light with a code for a bad cam position sensor on the passenger bank. I inspected and cleaned the sensor and cleared the code. Vehicle seemed to run fine, then the cam position sensor code reappeared after several days. So I replaced the sensor.

I subsequently drove the vehicle, and it seemed to run fine for several days. Then I got several engine codes for the passenger bank (p0172, and p0133, there may have been a third code as well). All seemed to be O2 sensor related. The vehicle was still running OK, but to be safe, I replaced both passenger bank O2 sensors and cleared the codes. At this point one of the codes was identified as a permanent code. So I disconnected the batteries to clear this code.

Once again the vehicle seemed to run fine post repair. However, I was driving the vehicle today and it started running rough after about 5 minutes of driving. The Auto Stop / Start disabled icon appeared on the dash, followed by a flashing check engine light. I now have three codes - p0172, p0300, and p0133 (this one is identified as a permanent code).

If I clear the codes, the vehicle will start and run fine for several minutes - drives fine, sounds fine, even when revved. Then misfiring occurs, and the same lights / codes reappear. During the misfiring, the engine does sound like it is ticking at low rpm’s.

I’m thinking (almost hoping) an injector(s) has failed. But I pulled the plugs on the passenger bank, and they appear fine (not wet or burnt), and the plugs are are properly gapped. Maybe a MAP sensor could be at fault (again almost hoping). I’m concerned this is related to the valve train work I did, as these issues occurred shortly after my work (within a several hundred miles). But I would think the issue would occur immediately upon startup if it were valve train related, and I would hear something more definitive with the engine.

Any feedback back would be appreciated.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to post, and asking for help isn’t easy for me. I’m currently fighting stage 4 stomach cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes, and as you can imagine, much of our money has gone toward treatment and everything that comes along with it.

On top of that, my Jeep needs an engine. I’ve been fortunate enough to find a dealer willing to help me and replace it at a reduced price of $8,000.

I want to be clear that I’m not expecting anyone to carry this burden for me, and I don’t want anyone to feel obligated to donate. I know everyone has their own bills, families, and struggles. I’m only putting this out there because some people have asked how they can help, and because I’ve learned that sometimes you have to swallow your pride and simply ask.

My hope is to get my Jeep running again and be able to take one last trip and make some memories with the time I have, without putting my wife into debt to make it happen. That would mean more to me than I can really put into words.

Wife's 2020 Wrangler. She mentioned there was a lot of movement in the filler neck while fueling up today. I looked at it, moved it around, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be fixed solid, or have some give. I didn't see any screws to check, and I haven't really wrenched on this one to be so that familiar with it. Just looking for some insight. Thank you in advance.

I tried to make her more capable for intermediate trails, beaches, snow, camping, and hunting down mountain streams without messing around too much with the ride height or steering geometry.

I went back and forth on whether to do lockers first, and the recommendations from everyone were helpful!

My plan is to add a GMRS radio at some point in the near future, as well as a set of classic KC Daylighter halogen lights to the bull bar - I know there are a million options that are probably a lot more modern than the KCs but I had a set on my YJ 30 years ago and I must represent!!

I have had a 2021 JL Unlimited Islander edition that I leased new in 2021 and have driven ever since. It’s about 90% highway mileage (work commute), and never missed an oil change. I’ve had zero issues with it in 5 years and 122,000 miles, until now. The check engine light came on, ABS light, service 4x4, service shifter, all at once. While driving the steering stopped working (froze in place pretty much) and once I was able to pull it over it would not get out of park. It turns on fine, but the warning lights come on and it won’t leave park. I had it towed to my local mechanic who checked it and said he’d never seen so many warnings at once before and told me to bring it to a dealership - he was able to drive it from the garage to the side of the garage to park it. I called a few other local places that gave the same response. My neighbor said she went through the same issue with her wrangler and it turned out to be the ABS module - anyone with a similar experience or any idea? Have an appointment to get it towed to a reputable dealership in my state, just looking for advice or thoughts.

I have a 2018 jeep wrangler JL and whenever I start my jeep then put it in reverse I hear a crank sound as if it was supported by the starter (please correct me if I am wrong) every single time put that is the only thing i can think about but maybe someone hear hard experience with that happening and also have a fix.

I've never put decals on a vehicle before, but really wanted to try and personalize my new rig. I think she turned out great 😎 I love the mountains of Colorado and have mad respect for the Jeep military heritage, including the service of Grandpa in WWII and Dad in Vietnam. Looking for a "compass" rear wheel cover as I'm all about navigation, but I haven't found one that speaks to me yet. Please share if you've spotted any, thanks 🙏

About a year ago I replaced the front oem shocks on my 2008 JKU with KYB Excel-G…I can’t stand them. Seem way softer than even the worn out originals and going over any kind of bump slow or fast makes my teeth rattle. Can anybody suggest an alternative? My Jeep isn’t lifted and I don’t do any aggressive off-roading but will take it down the odd trail to go camping/hunting. Thanks!

Joined the Jeep family by buying a new to me jeep with ~9,000 miles on it.

Checked fluid levels and noticed the coolant is at the minimum level.

I’ve read some things about mixing coolants and how bad that can be. Because I can’t know for sure what type of coolant was used previously, would you professionals recommend just flushing the coolant and replacing it? What else should I check out?

I'm a stickler for changing the oil religiously, have been with every vehicle I've owned. I usually just watch the ODO like a hawk and when it hits 4k, the oil is changed.

My '20 JL is the newest vehicle I've ever owned and the only one with a digital oil life meter. What do they measure, just mileage or other factors? Are they reliable or should I just keep watching the mileage?

We have a 2021 jeep wrangler JL..occasionally for no reason the backup camera stops working and just shows a blue screen. Next drove starts working just fine. Anyone have any advice??

Hi im wondering, My 2020 Willys came with what I think are 32" Tires on a 17 rim... Now I need some Winter tires since I'm pretty sure The OEM Mud tires wouldn't handle well during winter... I found these cheap Nokian Non studded winter tires that comes with OEM JL 17" rims for $400 only caveat is that it's 28.5" would these Be compatible/Advisable for my Model?

I have a stock Wrangler jlu sport and need new brake hoses. It looks like most of the ones I find online are for lifted jeeps. Are there any upgrade options for stock wranglers?

Ok so, I was off roading with a few of my buddies. The mountain we were going up was about 14° pitch up for about a the majority of the trail. We noticed fairly early that the engine was not providing as much power as it normally seems to. I would floor it and the RPMs wouldn’t reach above 2000. Eventually we hit a rock garden, and while flooring the vehicle (because of such low power) the engine stopped (RPMs read 0, but it didn’t jerk), I received an indication on the dash to press the engine start stop button. I did and the vehicle started right up and got us all the way up the rest of the trail and right back down. Once we got to flatter terrain the engine seemed to operate normally again, and driving on the highway home it operated normally. The vehicle is a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with the 3.6 liter V6 and 8 speed transmission, and I was driving in 4 high at the time. Any advice as to what exactly happened, how concerned I should be, and what I should do moving forward?
