Vinyl Wrapping the Gas Tank Panels

DO NOT RECOMMEND

This is a nightmare. I should have just taken it to the professionals. The curves on these panels make it near impossible to wrap. This has been an awful experience.

Help with installation of bar ends

For those of you who have purchased the Fenrir bar end mirrors, how did you manage to get a proper installation without the mirror sticking the throttle? I already bought the bar end adaptors and managed to figure out most of the installation but it isnt adding up. Please advise!

Recolor: Paint / Swap / Wrap Advice

I want my 2025 in the 2021/2020 red/white colors.

Can the homies double check my work identifying the parts # 1, 9, 15, and 19? (Also, why is it so expensive totaling $1800!)

I'll also start calling shops for quotes. (Also expecting it to be very expensive in a VHCOL area).

Wrapping is also an option that I haven't seriously considered yet, but these costs may take me there.

What would you do?

I’m 26 and when I passed my car test I went on a trip around Scotland, so naturally after passing my bike test a roadtrip was in order.

Had a blast! 3200miles in just over 2 weeks :)

Some may think im mad but I sold a Rninet Scrambler to get a xsr..

Not my first xsr, had one a few years ago and god damn I just missed that engine, sound and lightness to the bike. Honestly the most fun bike I have had out of a rninet, triumph t120 and a street triple 675.

Front Sprocket access

Hey there,

I need to clean the front sprocket on my 2021 XSR.

I can't quite get the wrench in position to unbolt the shift linkage. I removed those two bolts and the plastic got loose but there is something keeping it there at the bottom. Do you guys know how to get this piece off ? I don't want to pull on it and rip something off.

Thanks !

My new XSR 700

Hey everyone,

Sharing a few pictures of my XSR700 that I just picked up. I completely fell in love with this bike.
I’ve already done a few mods: street-legal full Arrow exhaust system, turn signals, tail tidy, mirrors, frame sliders...

I’d like to make two more changes:

- Installing clip-ons because I really can't stand the stock handlebars anymore -> Any advice or recommendations on this?

- Applying a vintage yellow wrap/tint to the headlight

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Saddlebag Suggestions

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of good looking and quality saddle bags? I have been going longer trips as of recent and think the extra storage space would be nice. But I do find many of the designs a bit tacky, in my head I was thinking of a nice set of brown or black leather bags, but I am open to any ideas. I am grateful for any recommendations you guys have.

Thanks, be safe out there.

Sequential blinker not working

Alright smart people, anyone experienced this issue or have any ideas for a not so electrical savvy person? So far my internet searches have let me down..

I have a 2026 xsr700 and just did the tst tail tidy mod which resulted in needing to upgrade my stock rear blinkers. I picked up some tst LED sequential blinkers but only 2 of the 6 bulbs flash and they are really dim. Like its not getting enough power long enough to fully light up.

I put them straight to the battery and the blinkers work so the parts are good. Signal fuze is good. I started with butt connectors and figured it was a bad connection so I soldered them on with the same poor result. I dont have an external signal relay to mess with or swap since its all incorporated on this year from what ive read and I dont see any other spot to wire them in to skip whatever is controlling the rate of power.

Ive read on relays, resistors and diodes and none describe my issue or give hints on how to solve it. It all mentions flashing too fast or being stuck on which is the opposite of my problem.

Anyone fixed this before?

Hello! New bike, new rider

Post image

I joined the world of motorcycling this past week, picking up the 2025 XSR700! I love it so much and digging the Yamaha blue. Finally received my first biker wave and I now feel giddy to make the bike my own.

Could you guys help me out, I'm having the hardest time finding accessories. I for some reason can't find luggage racks. But ultimately looking at windscreen, bar-end mirrors and maybe hand guards.

Did you guys replace the seat too?

(Bonus points if sourced from a Canadian site but maybe that's why I'm struggling to find anything)

Thanks in advance!

My current setup for light touring. I also threw in pics of the bike with the gear unloaded 😅. I currently have the Piranha Dart Flyscreen, but I'm still debating whether to upgrade to the Marlin for better wind coverage. Lmk what you guys think.

Safe to bump start the XSR700?

Hey guys! Got a 2018 XSR700 and I've been thinking aboute practicing bump starting the bike. Never done it before so I figure it would be a good idea to try this so I know what to do whenever I get a dead battery. But is it safe to practice this? Can it cause any problems if done 10-20 times in a row?

Riding with luggage and a passenger on Xsr700?

I searched fair bit of internet looking for any information about side bags for xsr700 being/ not being a problem when traveling in pairs and couldn’t find sufficient information. Is it a given that side bags do not obstruct passenger’s position? Do you have any recommendations for the bags?

Powder coat swing arm

Anyone have any experience with this? I have acquired a new one as the one on mine is rusting to bits. Research online says it isn’t possible to powder coat due to some rubber thing inside that wouldn’t survive the oven!

Speedometer Relocation

Thumbnail gallery
42 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'd Like to share this little project with you.

I bought the Gilles bracket to move the speedometer from the handlebars. A few days before I had mounted the Yamaha windshield. Unfortunately I realized that the two components are not compatible but I didn't give up.

The Gilles support should be mounted on top of the relay resting on the lighthouse, I mounted it underneath by adding a thickness, in this way I recovered some space. I mounted the display but it touched against the screw... so I created a flare for the screw and reassembled it.

The dome didn't mount yet but I was almost there; so I added a spacer on each screw between the dome and the bracket and finally everything went to its place.

The display is now much more visible without looking away from the road, I have freed up space from the handlebars where I can put the smartphone when I need the navigator and I find that aesthetically everything is more amazing.

Extra luggage capacity on crashbars

Thumbnail gallery
21 Upvotes

Inspired by the awesome looking XSR from Aya moto adventures, I was looking for some extra capacity and found these 3L rollbags from LS2. Lots of loops on the side to attach them to any crashbar and they come with two straps to secure them. Best part is they are only €20 each.

I just mounted them on my RD moto crashbars to try them out. Really happy with the fitment and how they keep the centre of gravity low. I did mount them a little higher after taking these pictures because I noticed they were hanging lower than the footpegs... Don't want to scrape the bags in corners!

The 5th picture shows the current setup with 2x20L panniers and a 10L bag on top. The extra 6 liters of capacity is a nice upgrade for camping. With 50L I had to pack pretty light/minimalistic.

Would love to see your luggage setups aswell!

Are y'all topping of your tanks when you fuel up? And other fuel/tank capacity questions.

I feel like I'm gassing up pretty frequently. I typically remain very cognizant of the fuel economy as I'm riding and try to ride mostly in very fuel-efficient ways. And I know the tank is not huge or anything, but I feel like I'm hitting gas stations just a bit more often than I should have to? Idk.

I don't insert the fuel pump all the way into the tank when fueling, and stop pumping gas when the auto-stop is on the fuel pump is triggered, and when I look in the tank the fuel itself is visible towards the top of the tank and seems to be pretty high up, and my fuel meter on the bike always reads full after. But then it just seems to deplete rather quickly.

Should I be topping off as much as possible to maximize distance on gas fill-ups?

Also, does the 3.7 gal tank include the reserve as well? Or is the reserve additional to the 3.7 gal tank volume? My sense is that 3.7 gal MUST be tank and reserve total.

And when the fuel meter is flashing and starts its own odometer, does that mean I'm using the reserve tank at this point? Because I'll fill the tank to the pump's auto-stop when I get to that point, and it'll only take like 2 gallons or so. Does that mean there are 1.7 gallons left once the fuel meter is flashing?

Maybe I'm just riding more than I realize. I'm also a new owner of a '26, so maybe I'm just getting used to the new bike still.

Thanks!

Issue with: LedPerf light pointing at the sky on XSR700

I have installed LedPerf lights on my XSR700 but a pin that seats the standard light bucket is in the way. Does anyone know how to deal with this? Preferably in a non destructive way
