Came by Schleiz on my ride on Sunday, former race track. The old pit and start building houses a Museum these days..

Ive noticed on long rides that 90% of the time the front turn signals get loose and pop out of their sockets and dangle around Ive popped them back in and made sure they are seated correctly but they always fall out. is there some kind of fix for this or aftermarket signals that don't do this?

2026 xsr900

I got the NRC tail tidy. Their YouTube instructions… ah that’s not for a 2026 XSR… Using childhood Lego skills, I figured it out. I like it has a rear license plate light. The city I live in enforces that, rudely.

Also after 1,100 miles, feeling not in a rush to update the throttle mapping. The gear ratios are so close. Can just go first to 3rd and move. But when just in city traffic, 2nd is fine.

Thinking to get nicer aluminum clutch and brake levers. When I go from riding my older bike to the XSR, the XSR levers seem flimsy. But that’s really only minor thing that has come to mind. It’s a pretty great fun minimalist machine.

Edit -- When removing the left front reflector, is saw it also had a clip that held a sensor line. Removing the reflector and clip -- that line is less supported. So added to the to do list -- grind that clip part off and put it back on. Washers to space those long brake caliper bolts probably matter... Haha.

Recently picked up the bike about 3-4 weeks ago, been pretty busy with all the little mods.
2 biggest mods so far are the exhaust and I picked up a 2025+ rear shock since it’s fully adjustable with the remote reservoir. Figured it try it out as a pretty inexpensive option before going with Ohlins or something, but so far I don’t think that will be necessary.

Does anyone else have trouble shifting? I feel like I have to break my damn ankle to shift up on this bike. Could I be pivoting at the wrong part of my foot?

Thoughts? I am unsure at the moment if I can move the foot peg further back. I am sure I can adjust just have not gone down that rabbit hole yet.

Im 5'10 and when i ride my bike im slightly leaning forward so i always put my weight to my hands unconsciously.

what bar riser brand are you recommending? i prefer an all black or similar to the OEM.

also, does the bar risers attach to the current bar holder or we will have to replace it?

another thing, how is the handling when you raised yours? can you still confidently corner aggressively? or you just corner as if its just a sport touring/adv?

Well then. My fuel pickup line completely ejected from the pump while I was on the gas and moving. Lost power and was label to coast to a stop. Lucky I wasn’t smoking since there was residual all over the side of the bike.
Man - tow companies aren’t what they used to be. Had to dig to find a tow company that would get a motorcycle but they no showed on me. Lucked out that a biker stopped and went and got a trailer to get me home. I don’t believe I Connected it fully and seated the line a few weeks back so this was the result. Almost made a flambay of the XSR!

I just picked up my xsr900 a week ago and while I love it I want more sound. I am looking at a yoshi with the baffle or the m4 exhaust, I’m open to recommendations, I’d like something that’s very mild at cold starts but wakes up when you push it. YouTube videos never seem to do the exhausts justice.

Its a 2024. Picked it up from original owner. Only 2k miles on it. Prestine condition. Couldn't be happier.

Been thinking about selling this bike but everytime I get on it just reminds me of how much I love being on two wheels. Such a hard decision!

Bike was in the shop for a rear tire replacement, nothing special your common reoccurring maintenance and I was looking forward at a nice Sunday ride as the weather looked to be good …. Just perfect as wife and kid were out for the day.

Of course something had to go wrong !!

I go pick up the bike and got surprised with a barrage or error codes/warning lights … TCS , ABS and Engine light

Bikes back in the shop and I’m sulking like a little
kid who didn’t get his toy … but you know what .. it sucks !!!!

Yeah seems they pinched the sensor wire so bad it got damaged and have to be replaced…

No clue how or when it happened, just noticed it today. Fz09 community says it’s a common problem for those models

Got my ECU back, it runs great. Noticed a few days ago that sometimes i can't quick shift up...sometimes. I can't seem to reproduce it. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't allow the shift. Manual / clutch shifting works fine, every time. Cant speak to down shifting because i don't use the QS for it too often. Tune was done by VCycleNut. 2024 XSR900. Currently i have a fake leovince pipe on the bike and i had the ecu tuned for a Kelpi Slipstream (i'll order that soon)

Going to try re-seating the ECU and unplugging/plugging the connection between the QS and the ECU and check for any fouling on the pins.

edit: I'm pretty sure i have the green up arrow indicator when attempting to shift. Failed shifts have occurred in the greenzone for RPMs.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Edit: don't wrap your qs equipped shifter with coban or anything else kinda squishy or it won't work

This is my first brand new bike. I got a great deal on a ‘26. 600 miles service had already been done because the guy broke it in and decided he didn’t want it. Plus got the extended 3 year warranty for free too. Talked them down to $9,000 USD. Feel like thats a hell of a deal. Anyways. Few questions.

1. Favorite wind/flyscreen?
   
2. Radiator Guard?
   
3. Ceramic coating?
   
4. Looking to go on trips, whats your favorite tail bags, and seat or seat cushions?
   
5. Anything else you guys would modify on a stock one?

Early speculations are all over the Internet since this morning. Yamaha may finally launch a SP version of the XSR900 in 2027 model lineup along with the GP(in USA). If consistent with other SP models, we should get suspension and braking component upgrades.

If anyone remembers my super shiny photos from last year. I decided to wrap it in matte black to match the rest of the matte parts. Redid the stickers in matte gold vinyl. I forgot to take a photo of the xsr900 sticker, so I did one I found online. Not perfect by any means but good enough for a first try. Let me know what you guys think.

I recently bought the 2025 as my first bike and I love it. I didn't want anything else and I was set on getting it no matter what. I currently ride in the "Rain mode" only and I have to say, it's actually more than enough for me right now 😀

However, the 4th power mode in rain mode is the only one that limits the power of the bike. Some say it limits it to 50 HP which is essentially the A2 version of the bike. I have also read that the throttle response difference between the 4th and 3rd power mode is quite significant too, even if the response is smoother compared to the 1st and 2nd mode.

So, do you guys think I should switch to the 3rd power mode, but keep all the other settings high when I have around 2000 km on the bike? I am currently at 650 km and I am yet to "break in" the engine in the first 1000 km and should not exceed 5,250 or 5,300 RPM. Will it behave like a completely different animal? Will I have to learn how to accelerate all over again? 😁

Maybe I should wait only if I am 100% comfortable riding in the rain mode and not some arbitrary number of km?

The thunderbox is a small controller that turns off accessories when battery voltage dips when the bike is off. Not a fan of splicing into wires or wiring directly to the battery.

I'd go with the OEM grips but partzilla has them on backorder or something and i dont know when i'd get them

Hi. I want to switch default handlebars to OEM clip-ons from XSR900 GP. My concern is I’ll have to move suspension tubes up and it will change geometry drastically. Maybe someone already did this and can share the experience? I don’t really like s2 concept clip-ons but this is my backup plan.
