ABS sensor question

I don’t know how the sensors work but at some point, my ABS sensor started rubbing on the ABS ring.

I have a check engine light with ABS codes that goes on and off

I do have a ABS bypass switch that I use when I’m stunting to turn it off

But I’m wondering if the sensor rubbing could’ve caused the check engine codes I’m not sure how they physically work obviously it’s not good that it’s rubbing, but I’m curious if someone could shed some light.

Just trying to get to the bottom of these check engine light codes

I had a local Yamaha dealer check the codes and they said it’s nothing with the engine. It’s just ABS codes, which is odd to me that the check engine light is coming on when it should just be the ABS light?

Keen to know this as well. My ABS light goes on and off randomly

Really? Have you done anything special to the bike?

Nothing that would cause the ABS sensor to trigger. I have removed both since and refitted them, cleaned them both with brake cleaner to make sure there was no interference. Even put dialectic on the connectors

Dang … I didn’t entire engine swap. I had a 2025 motor I put into my old 2021 chassis and frame. I don’t remember ever seeing a check engine light before I did that.

Seems to me either you have no correctly assembled your back wheel as i see the chain tender not ajusted.

Or your ABS disk is wrapped.

I think the ABS disc could be warped

The chain tensioner is loose in the picture as I was tightening my chain during that photo yesterday

ABS systems/sensors generally share information with the engine control units so if a sensor isn’t operating as intended or is receiving false information (numbers/signals) not in its table then it can cause a CEL to occur. With that out the way it looks like that disk is uhhh, WRAPPED or got bent some how but it definitely needs replaced cause no way should it be physically touching that ABS sensor!

Thanks man I’ll start there replacing the disc and the ABS sensor. This bike has been through a lot.- I’m not sure if somehow the wheel is spinning off axis, causing just one side to be closer to the Soencer than the other. Or what.

Do you have the wheel spacers on the correct side/have you changed them?

I’m pretty sure things won’t function and go together if the wheel spacers are put on the wrong orientation, I could be wrong. But I’ve taken the wheel off many times, but maybe I was fatigued and put it back on, but I don’t think this is it

It depends on the bike, sometimes they can be very slightly different. I can't remember what the R3 ones were like though.
