I know the sims 4 and realism don't really mix, but with season 4 coming up, I got bored and wanted to create my own version of things, lol. I based the look on Season 3—partly because I think that season had the coolest outfits, and partly because I couldn't find a suitable blonde mullet for my Natalie. Can you believe the hardest part was finding the right hairstyles? who or what did you like the most? Maybe I'll do the adult timeline crew in the future, if you guys are interested.

last week I watched the Season 3 finale for the first time and a bunch of thoughts have been racing in my mind since then so much that I created to account here just to get them off my mind.

Unlike a lot of you I have not rewatched the series (I will, but not in the near future), watched one episode per day (sometimes with a gap of a few days), took breaks between the seasons and sometimes wasn't the most attentive because AuDHD. Therefore I might have forgotten stuff, misremember it or interpreted something differently.

Additionally English ain't my main language and despite having a certificate in it and reading, watching TV and writing in it is something I do every day, this collection of thoughts might turn out kinda bumpy.

Spoilers for: Yellowjackets up to S3 Finale and the TV series Lost

Thoughts:

A. I don't see Shauna as the big villain/antagonist. I know there are a lot of people either hating or loving her and despite everything she's done I still really like her. I can not defend her on a rational level, just on the emotional one.

Also I can't pinpoint it, it's just a feeling based on how the series went so far: I think something will happen that again that will flip the perception of Shauna upside down again.

I also don't think there is a big antagonist, every character has antagonistic tendencies at one point. That does not mean I justify Shauna's actions. If there is some sort of bigger evil, then it is It/The Wilderness and the group dynamic.

Coming back to Shauna: I hope she will find the strenght to just talk about what has happened and forgive herself, as Melissa wrote in her letter. I don't see her as full blown psychopath, but as someone who is in a mental health crisis for decades while acting as if everything was alright (I mean all the survivors did except Nat) and just has slid over the edge.

This thought is kinda messy and does not have any conlusion or end right now. Also I like/love all the YJ and can't really hate any of them, no matter what they'll do or did.

B. Van didn't deserve anything that has happened to her.

C. Coming back to group dynamic: I think Shauna was right, when she thought they had fun back then doing what they did. Nat enjoyed being the leader, Misty had an important place when it came to make sure they survive, Lottie could live out her spirituality etc.

D. Maybe Tai is manipulating Misty when they meet in the diner. I don't have anything to proof that, it's just a feeling, because I never trusted her for more than half a minute.

Hopes:

A. Okay, I know more people will die, however please none of the Yellowjackets who are still alive - including Shauna. I don't want a last girl standing or 1v1 situation. I don't know how likely that is, but I hope for as long as I can. Callie and Jeff also please stay alive.

B. No Lost-like ending, please! Someone on r/yellowjacketstheories already posted something about them all meeting in the plane in the afterlife. Hopefully not. Not only have the creators said they don't want a Lost-like ending (at least I read it somewhere a while ago, but can't name a source rn), but I also think that would be a kinda anti-climactic ending. Not that I have a good idea for an ending.

C. There's more to Walter, but he's not connected to the plane crash. Okay, maybe he is just obsessed with Misty or the Yellowjackets. Maybe it just is me who wants to see more in him, maybe he is just some sort of stand in for the audience. However I hope there is more to him than that. When he was observing Misty and Tai, Raining Blood by Slayer was playing in his car and the specific part of it is the end, where "I shall reign in blood" is sung. Foreshadowing or too much interpretation?

D. Finding out what the phone in Tai's visions means and who "she" Lottie finally meets when she dies is.

Questions:

A. Was the man without eyes ever fully clarified? How I see it right now, it was just a memory fragment of Tai which she never could put in a certain place and eventually found out it was just from a commercial. Something that just happens to everyone, but, as stated above, I might have forgotten something.

B. Was there more behind Melissa killing Van in this moment? I think she could have stabbed her in the arm or leg and then escaped, since Van couldn't kill her on a mental level and was physically weakened. Maybe again I have missed or forgotten something there.

C. Was the phone on the toilet fully clarified? So Shauna was on the toilet in the restaurant (no one else was there), someone else entered, but just walked up and down without saying anything, left the phone on the cistern and turned off the lights for some reason. I don't know how popular the ringtone song is (I think Misty says it's just a popular song, I have never heard of it and I doubt a lot of people use songs as ringtones these days), but the whole process does not strike me as just a forgotten phone. The freezer door was clear from the beginning and the brakes were clarifed, but the phone still seems odd to me. Am I overthinking that? Have I forgotten something?

There's some more stuff on my mind right now (for e.g. that Callie reacted kinda calm when Misty confronted her), but I can't really put it into words.

I sometimes imagine, what if there was a diabetic girl on the team? What if her insulin got destroyed in the crash? Or even worse, what if her insulin was fine but the problem was that he only had a certain amount of injections for the trip?

Kind of like Lottie and how her medication ran out, this girl's insulin would eventually run out and then she's literally doomed, and then everyone just watches her die. Quite harrowing.

If something like that happened it would definitely be kind of scarring for the girls because it's an inevitable death they would all witness unfold, unlike seeing people dead on impact.

All the deaths in the first season are horrible and shocking, but like I said this would kind of be a "slow" death. She's a walking corpse, unless they get help. It would Mayne even motivate the girls early on to really get help, like when Tai was going to walk to salvation.

I wish it happened. Not that I wish for the girl to suffer, but I think it would be a cool storyline. It one of those "realistic" storylines.

Another "realistic" storyline that would've been cool is seeing someone die from an illness they got in the wilderness, or die from an injury.

I know that they only have a limited amount of hours in which they can tell the whole story, and they also have to split each episode between two timelines, ​but these storyline could've been quite nice.

The extra jackets don't all have to live for multiple seasons. There should've been a great culling. Just kill them left and right and let them randomly drop like flies for different reasons hahaha.

I do want do say though, the amount of girls that have survived in Yellowjackets so far isn't "unrealistic" or anything. Humans are adaptable, and they can definitely survive and make it far when they work together.

Not much of a theory, just a thought I had as a longtime fan of Lost.

I see people relating Natalie and Charlie, mainly due to their drug addiction.

Now this is spoilers to Lost:

In season 3, Charlie is repeatedly having near death experiences and being saved by Desmond (who’s having flashes of Charlie’s death). This goes on for a while, until THE flash that Desmond has. This flash shows that Charlie could save the people on the island so they follow through, which ends up in his demise.

This is very similar to Van, having near death experiences until she saves Tai (+Shauna and Melissa).

I kind of interpret this meaning Vans death ultimately saved all the girls. The main timeline sacrifices were for her, so her death would technically end that.

As well as, when Melissa tells Van “there’s another way” (or something along those lines) can be interpreted as “end the cycle” imo

HM: During the plane scene, young Van says “surviving was never the reward”, which could mean the reward was actually saving them, not herself.

This could all be confirmed, I really just thought the parallel was really cool.

Ok, I’m watching season three for the first time. This might sound crazy, but as an officer of the court, their terrifying trial in the woods for coach Ben actually seems more fair and capably defended than a lot of the ones I see at work. I was expecting a full inquisition-style witch-burning. Instead, both sides examined him thoughtfully and (mostly) ethically, reminding me that these girls aren’t total savages, but academically high-achieving high school athletes

Posting this here because I think this scene is often misinterpreted as evidence of a love triangle, when I think the real meaning behind it is actually something much more interesting and nuanced. It represents this internal battle within Travis and the basis of Nat and Lottie’s opposition in the first place: Nat represents cold resignation while Lottie represents delusional hope.

And you can see this intention in the scene itself. Lottie never appears in a sexual manner. She’s in a white nightgown with light streaming from her head like a holy figure, she holds him in her arms like Mary held Jesus, she appears purely spiritual and motherly.

I also love quotes like “Hope is painful and she wants to eviscerate him of that hope” and “as a loving gesture, she cuts her own skin.” I think this is very telling of both Nat’s internal world/reasoning and the tragedy of Nat and Travis’ dynamic.

Has anyone ever seen the movie "The Life before her Eyes".

The movie is about a girl and her best friend, who dies in a school shooting after the shooter makes them pick which one dies. The movie follows the girl that lived and how the shooting affected her life as an adult.

THE TWIST: She never survived.The whole movie was an instant flash forward of the life she might have if she lives. So she volunteers to die instead.

What if....everything is a story. Shauna got accepted into Brown. What if she was going to major in creative writing. If the plane never went down, maybe Shauna wrote this story to cope with her anger of living in the mundane. The unreliable narrator, the different realities, the inconsistencies, the mirroring between the two time lines. WHY is there two different time lines? In season 1, she answers "Paradise Lost" correctly to that jeopardy question. What if she used Paradise Lost and the Chilean Soccer Team as inspiration?

IRL, what if Jackie found out about her and Jeff and Shauna's life spiraled. In season 3 when Shauna and Jackie have that scene at the Super Market, what if that wasn't a dream, but a glimpse into the Hell of Normalcy Shauna has to live while her best friend continues to get everything and she seethes in her anger and shame instead of following her own path.

Or maybe it's a dream? as shitty as that sounds, what if in ep.1 when Shauna takes that pill, it all turns out to be a crazy dream or a full flash forward while the plane is going down? lmao I'd freaking DIE!

but I'm not a serious theorist, just a quick thought. Doesn't answer anything really, but at this point there is so much ambiguity and dead ends, and mentions of different realities, that a work of fiction written by a brilliant, but violent, teen girl seems to be all encompassing.

been a fan of yellowjackets since s1 came out & absolutely adore lottie/courtney and would love to be able to meet her/any of the girls if they do a convention over in the uk however when it comes to cons i know Nothing (i’ve worked and attended a few tattoo ones but imagine they’re wildly different). If one in the UK is announced which convention is it likely to be and what’s the best way to find out about it? Or how likely even is it that any of the girls would come over here for a con? I’ve got notifs on for Courtney/a few of her update accounts etc & I just really don’t want to miss if anything is announced (or find out after from people posting their photos🥲) any knowledge/tips are greatly appreciated!

I don't know. I just was laying here thinking about how excited I am for the last season and was letting my mind wander through crazy ideas.

Also, why did Lottie not get a plane scene? Why did she kill Travis? Are we certain Hannah is going to die in s4? What are Shaunas parents like?

Yeah so I was bored and got inspiration to make this, feel free to use this for when season four comes out! I literally cannot wait, these are some of my theories :)

SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW IN THE POST

I want to start this by saying that this post isn't against disliking Shauna, I think that is perfectly fine. I just feel like ever since season 3, people have become hypercritical of everything about Shauna and have retroactively been making every action of hers in the earlier seasons seem much worse than it was intended to be and is in reality. Everything Shauna does and did is reduced to either narcissism and psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies by people who have no idea what any of these terms mean or if they apply to Shauna at all. I've seen so many people say that even without the crash they think Shauna would've 'still' become a serial killer, and I wonder if we've watched the same show, because from what we've seen so far, Shauna isn't even a serial killer *currently* considering the only person she's actually killed is Adam. I think disliking Shauna is perfectly fine! I don't think there's anything wrong with disliking *any* character on the show, you do you, and there's plenty of reasons for people to actually dislike Shauna, but I feel like people's dislike of her clouds their judgment when it comes to this topic.

I don't think Shauna was a *great* person pre-crash; that's not what I'm arguing or trying to hint at. I think she was always deeply flawed, and had issues. She was sleeping with Jeff, was bitter and let resentment build for Jackie, and the few times she does let emotions out earlier in the show they usually explode. But I also feel like none of these traits are unusual for teenage girls, especially those who are currently in high school, and most of them grow out of those traits once they grow up. As much as people want to say Shauna is evil for cheating and deserved to have a stillbirth because of it, being a cheater as a teenager doesn't make you a terrible person and doesn't mean someone will become a psychopath in the future as so many people here believe. There are also some hints of Shauna's actual darkness, like trying to lick the deer blood when she was butchering it and her being interested in butchering at all, and of course Doomcoming (but that was after months in the wilderness and lots of the other girls participated so that isn't Shauna-specific), but those are traits that wouldn't have manifested into the Shauna we see in season 3 without the crash and trauma associated with it.

Shauna was shown as one of the most helpful and empathetic characters throughout season 1 and even season 2. While she was on board with freezing Allie out, she also immediately came to her side and comforted her when she broke her leg, confronted Tai at the party because of it, took care of Javi and let him have her supplies, comforted Jackie and tried to get her to pull her weight when she noticed the other girls were getting upset with her and even tried to teach her how to butcher, and was always one of the first to help when the other girls were in distress, like when Lottie was acting possessed during the séance. The entire reason she became friends with Tai in season 1 was because she was the only one at the time who didn't want to leave her alone in the attic and tried to help her to sleep when she was afraid to.

Those deeper issues that were hinted at in season 1, outside of the usual teenage angst, start to truly manifest after Jackie's death, with her starting to hallucinate, be more prone to anger and be the first to start the cannibalism before any of the others. But she was still largely acting like herself - the version of her that was deeply grieving and guilt-ridden - but still herself. Shauna after the baby is completely different, and that trauma fundamentally changed who she was. Having to butcher Javi so short after that was the final nail in the coffin.

That amount of trauma was what brought every dark tendency Shauna might have buried to the surface, but I genuinely feel like otherwise she would have grown up to be a normal person. She had bad traits and was a cheater, yes, but those are the things that she most likely would've matured out of and changed had she been allowed to without the trauma of the plane crash and everything that happened afterwards. Shauna wasn't *awful* before the crash and she would not have become the version of her in season 3 without the crash.

We knew we’d be seeing Jackie’s parents in the post rescue scenes and timeline but this officially confirms that Shauna is going to have to face her and I would assume that if the rescue team doesn’t break the news to them she died that it will be Shauna who is the one who tells the Taylor’s about Jackie not surviving. Buzz buzz buzz 🐝

During a scene in the cave in the season 3 finale, Lottie tells Akilah “Even if we leave this place, we’ll bring IT back with us.” As she says that, she reaches out and touches the cave. I believe that this is foreshadowing that they will actually bring something back with them and it will be found inside of the mines. We know that Other Tai has a penchant for finding the tree symbols, which lead to the mine entrance. In my opinion, it will lead her to into the cave, where she’ll retrieve what the miners had been searching for. Lottie will come into possession of it, without Tai ever remembering that it ever happened. This is why Tai had the vision of herself in the cave, answering the shiny phone, even though we have never actually seen her inside of the mines throughout all 3 seasons.

This all ties into the Goonies line that Van was talking about, which we know that the Goonies was ultimately about finding a treasure. At Lottie’s place of worship/death, while Misty was snooping around, there is an X marked on the wall, which is the real meaning for “X marks the spot” (NOT Melissa at the railroad crossing). Odds are, Lottie’s choice for her community to represent the heliotrope can be traced back to this, as I believe that the item was an Amethyst Crystal. It contains the healing properties that directly correlate to ailments of the YJ. Tai (Sleep aid), Shauna (Decision-making), Van (Immunity), and Nat (Anxiety relief).

I only thought about this when I started rewatching season 3. It doesn't make sense to me because it's not like Shauna wanted any more children. So space wouldn't be a problem for them in a normal car and Jeff has his own car anyways. Maybe it's just me over thinking it 🤷‍♀️.

I am rewatching the show and, after watching the baby shower scene, I have a theory as to what caused the wilderness to attach itself to the team. I will preface this by saying that this only makes sense if there is actually a supernatural explanation behind the show.

Okay, so: after the plane crash, we see that Javi and Travis’s dad (head coach) was launched into a tree. Not only was he launched onto the tree, but he was impaled by it. Here’s where the baby shower becomes relevant. We see that immediately after Shauna’s nosebleed falls on the symbol (woven into the baby blanket), a flock of birds is “gifted” to the team. After the plane crash, we see Coach Martinez is bleeding heavily after impaled by the tree. What if his blood dripped down, landing at the base of the tree? What if that specific tree base had a specific symbol carved into it? This could be the very thing that incited the cycle of sacrifice.

i’m going to expand upon this theory. Normally, the wilderness requires an actual sacrifice via death in order to be pleased. However, when the team receives the “gift” of birds flying into the cabin, no one has died. All it took was Shauna’s nosebleed falling on the symbol woven into the blanket. I’ve seen many theories that Shauna’s baby didn’t die during labor but was actually stillborn and died in the womb. If that’s the case, what if that nosebleed happened when or soon after the baby passed? I only say this because it seems to be the one “gift” they receive at no real cost, as no one had recently died.

The second theory is most likely a coincidence, but the first one seems pretty plausible to me.

I don’t get why the fandom is so convinced we are gonna see Shauna’s wedding this season. I’ve seen so many posts about Shauna hallucinating ghost Jackie but it doesn’t make any sense

None of the seasons have ever had a year time skip in between the season. A couple months sure but nothing more than that. Based on when the yellow jackets get rescued that’s still 3 years away from when Shauna gets married to Jeff.

I think season 4 is gonna dissapoint a lot of people because they aren’t paying attention to the timeline. The yellow jackets aren’t starting episode one with rescued we know that based on the synopsis. There’s only 8 episodes this season. Where is there time for this wedding.

The teen timeline will probably be them in the last months in the wilderness and then them being rescued and dealing with the first few months of that.
