OEM Parts/Modifications ABARTH PARTS/MODIFICATIONS

As the title suggests, a few members on the Abarth team have decided to put together a full disambiguation of commonly referenced websites that provide parts for our cars.

Disclosure: We are missing input from members with T-Jet 1.4L engines.

USDM/CAN/MEX 1.4L MULTI-AIR TURBO

Abarth OEM part suppliers

  • Dicorse
  • While Dicorse carries both OEM, OE, and OE+ solutions, their store provides the cheapest alternatives to repairing CV Axles as opposed to buying them brand new, same goes for suspension components.

  • Mopar Online Parts
  • An honorable mention, because they ask you to check for part fitment via VIN, and withhold your order if the parts you purchased don't match up with the vin you provided. It kept me from buying wrong parts once, and I'll continue to use them for extensive work requiring OEM components

Abarth Aftermarket/OE+ suppliers

  • SpeedMotive
  • Speedmotive has been my one stop shop for anything performance for my Abarth. Shipping is always quick, parts are reputable, guaranteed fitment (when choosing correct model, of course) and easy communication with the store.

  • Euro2Ner.com
  • A community member, Euro2Ner has now started his own page devoted to modifying our USDM Abarths, even providing a near "plug-and-play" euro tail-light modification. Not only that, Euro2Ner provides parts for other makes and models branded under Stellantis.

  • EuroCompulsion
  • What would an Abarth group be without our next honorable mention, Eurocompulsion. Now, we don't have a discount code through them, but they have reworked their staff and website quite a bit over the years. They have been supplying a lot of the Abarth community in the past, and some have "horror stories" from their past, but they still supply quite a few aftermarket parts not sold elsewhere.

  • NGEN CUSTOMS AND PERFORMANCE Another great Stellantis supporting distributor for modifications. If you’re looking for exterior modifications/bodykits, this is certainly your one stop shop.

  • Tork Motorsports
  • Provider of some of the first aftermarket performance products to increase power using the multi-air brick. Their website does look a bit dated, but they still provide good service. One of their packages on their site includes everything (except for an oil fill neck O-ring) to do a valve cover gasket overhaul on our Abarth's, which makes maintenance much easier.

  • 500 Madness
  • Lastly, we have 500 madness. A lot of members in our group have also dealt with Madness before, but mostly for commonly sourced items, and some performance upgrades. They have designed their own intakes, with little success. They do however have a large selection for niche items like center caps/Abarth specific shift knobs, and merch.

Tips and previously negotiated commonalities of Abarths

  • So, you've broken your door handle. We've got that covered:
    • 68069942AB (Passenger side door handle)
    • 68069943AB (Driver side door handle)
  • If your Abarth has anywhere close to 70k miles, there's a good chance your plastic ram air intake boot is melted, and letting in hot air right above the downpipe. Not all Abarths seem to be affected by this, however, I have provided a link for the fix here. Below I have pictured what the linked part looks like, installed.
"Ram air intake boot" installed
  • Continuing on with our trend of air intake systems and improvements, I've decided to split the categories of air intake systems into three parts. With FMIC, with stock SMIC, with stock SMIC and stock airbox.
    • With FMIC: "ATM Fenderwell intake" - Even goes as far as to remount the windshield washer fluid reservoir for better fitment, which is why this intake "takes the cake" over the "ORRA Fenderwell intake". Find the ATM Fenderwell intake on Speedmotive, and take a peak at what it looks like installed.
"ATM Fenderwell Intake"
  • With Stock SMIC: Since there are more than a couple decent options here, I will list the two intakes known to keep IATs the lowest. The ATM system had the lowest IATs (Intake Air Temps) out of all intakes in this category, but may be too loud for some.
    • "ATM Holey Cowl" - Loud, but beautiful. Truly built for those who love turbo noises. Find it through Speedmotive. Drilling a hole into the cowl will be required for this modification.
    • "Eurocompulsion V4 Intake" - Very easy to install, super good looking in the bay, and draws 100% of its air from outside the engine bay. Find it at Eurocompulsion.
  • With Stock SMIC and stock airbox: This is essentially the OEM+ solution I mentioned earlier in the write-up. So for you folks who like the look of the stock airbox, but want to spice up the performance, here are some options! All of the following listed solutions should be complimented with a ram air intake boot for optimal performance.
    • Pre 2015 models:
    • Eurocompulsion V3 Air Induction Kit (with drop in filter)
    • 500 Madness filter housing upgrade kit (with drop in filter)
    • 2015 and on models:
    • Eurocompulsion V3 Air Induction Kit (with drop in filter)
    • 500 Madness Filter Housing Upgrade Kit (with drop in filter)
    • Injen SP Short Ram Air Intake System (with drop in filter) I have a picture of it below, not to get confused with a traditional "ram air intake"

Injen Intake solution mentioned above for OEM+

Looking for the best motor oil? Check out our top picks (All in 5W-40):

  • Shell Rotella T6 full synth. Turbo diesel oil
    • Only for de-cat exhaust systems. Thicker hydrocarbons produced from the burning of AOS gasses from the crankcase WILL clog a catalytic converter intended for use with a gasoline engine.
  • Redline full synth.
  • Castrol Euro Formula full synth.
  • Mobil 1 Euro Blend full synth
  • Pennzoil Euro Platinum (Ferrari on the bottle) full synth
    • It should be noted that this is the oil used at Mopar service centers. Thank you u/mcmercf1
  • Liqui-moly Ultra Low Friction full synth.

I don't mean to tell you how to modify your car, folks. It's your Abarth. We are all here to learn and talk about stuff Abarth. I would prefer, however, that you guys and gals make smart decisions when modifying your beasts, as that's what keeps them running for you to enjoy!

Buying a abarth

Im thinking of getting an punto abarth I have few questions pls help

My situation:- my dad has given me a budget of 4-4.5 lakhs around for a hatchback, middle class family, this is gonna be our first car, I want smtg fun to drive and then I came across this car is really loved it and found a deal offline for 4.5 lakhs black abarth ,single owner, 70k kms done, he said he's done the servicing and replaced flywheel and clutch assembly, brake pads, front suspension, even tyres are replaced worth 60k, only timing belt needs replacement after 10k kms, he said yearly maintenance comes upto 9-10k per service, he says tht if you are in bangalore then nothing to worry about the service

Few doubt

  1. How the service?

  2. Is it too costly to maintain

  3. How's the parts availability

  4. I stay in bangalore so will I be able to maintain it

  5. What all things should I check before buying

  6. Should I buy considering the high costs

Actually regarding the service part I feel, anyways we get it done once a year I'll somehow save 6-7k separately and be prepared so tht I'll tell my family tht it costed my only 4-5k for the service...I badly want to own it , I really wanna own smtg unique car for a long time

Fitting new gen bumpers on gen 1 Abarth 500?

Hi I’ve recently bought this Fiat 500 Abarth a 2013 model with 104k miles on it and it’s a little worn but runs great. I’ve installed a fmic and a couple other misc mods but I’m really wanting to know if anybody here has installed new gen face lift front and rear bumpers on the earlier year abarths? I’m wondering if they would mount up with little trouble or if you would have to do a lot of fab work to get them to mount up. Really enjoy the look of the new styles but don’t have the new style money🥲😆 Any info is much appreciated and thank you! Love this little car and community glad to be apart of it!

Wastegate housing repair and replacement of arm

My wastegate arm is loose. Common issue, but Instead of replacing whole turbo, I was gunna just repair the wastegate housing by removing the downpipe, the removing the 13mm bolts mounting the housing to the exhaust manifold. Remove the clamps, then take the housing to a turbo shop for the repair of the arm and bushing. Has anyone gone this route to save $1000s and massive amounts of extra labor. Or am I just being lazy? It should only cost me $400 with this method

Fully rebuilt at 70,000 miles. New problems since this trip; limp mode and a bad fuel pump. It’s always something with this thing. But dang do I absolutely adore it

Just joined the Abarth family, with a 2013 that only has 48k km on it 😳

I just wanted to announce my arrival in Abarth nation. I’ve always liked them, never really considered one (I’m 6’3), but in my search for a winter beater I found a car that I’ll likely store in the winter.

She needs some work, but she’s very clean. Best $4,800 CAD I’ve ever spent, and honestly one of the most fun cars I’ve driven.

And yes, the armrest is broken 🤣

The build goes on.. sitting in limp mode using MultiEcuScan. Any P0299 info for a non functioning watergate actuator that is brand new and preloaded correctly

Uconnect 7" HD Live avec Apple CarPlay pour l'Abarth 595 Turismo de 2021

Bonjour,

Sandra Fernandes

Heat shield for the 1.4l turbo

Post image
21 Upvotes

I've heard horror stories of the #3 cylinder exhaust valve getting burnt up and coincidentally that just so happens to be the cylinder closest to the turbocharger. I'm wondering if I remove the heat shield that covers the turbo that'll help spread heat out throughout the engine bay instead of keeping it in that confined pocket where it can heat up whatever is closest to it, therefore extending the life of the valvetrain. Any consequences to doing that?

The heat shield is already off the car because it started to rust out and I ended up buying a thermal blanket for it to swap in but then I just had this thought and wanted to ask before I did anything else

My Abarth 595c Competizione Blue Badge which underwent a multi-year bespoking programme to the extent that I decided to add two words in a nod to Rolls-Royce's Black Badge variants.

Engine remains factory 180hp, though.

They are noticably brighter than the old version. Only the outline you see light up and not the entire tail light. The signals and reverse lights while not blinding, are brighter also.

Is this car real?

I found this Facebook marketplace post today, but can’t seem to find if this was real. Information on classic abarths is generally difficult to find in the states and I don’t see any mention of this anywhere. It appears to be based off a Fiat 500 500 Giardiniera, but searching Giardiniera Abarth doesn’t bring anything that I can find. Any ideas?
