if it doesnt have same guardrails as fable ,then it could be meaningful boost, we will see in coming months

For perspective, here are the release dates of the other models listed. All of this summer.

Fable 5: June 9
Opus 5: July 24
GPT 5.6 Sol: July 9

Pretty good improvement over the last 3ish months. IMO the most significant advancement is in the agentic research category. In 2-3 months we’ve seen models more than DOUBLE their utility in AI advancement. We are getting closer and closer to RSI (the inflection point).

2027 seems like it'll be a wild year for agents given the progress

Particularly given that they seem to be at least one generation further ahead internally.

Also, OP, awesome name, lol.

The LLM's have left OP in the dust!

FUCK YESSSS

(I'm kinda burnt out on anthropic, BUT it'll propell OpenAI to release Astra, and chinese labs to continue releasing free shit!)

Ant's models have the most soul IMO. In normal chat, Claude feels lake an actualized being, while GPT feels like a (brilliant) robot.

So for me it's been Claude for philosophy, Codex for programming.

Really? I feel completely different. I've used Opus and Fable intensely for 2 months, for coding, storytelling, philosophy navel gazing, and it felt like a contrarian, fallacious guy constantly spamming "load-bearing" "pushback" "I'm clocking this". Maybe opus pre 4.8? I've seen people say it used to be better

Sol is by no means close to a human, but merely the fact is uses fewer AI-ism is pretty good.

Fable was good. Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 is like talking to a redditor who's a toaster. Atrocious.

Just by that you can tell Opus 5 is scared and mistrained (sloppy as hell, even 4.5 was more thorough)

why fable is smiling? Also why they have faces, I would like to my model draw a gpu or something like it.

No I think you're right and I'm someone who is a HUGE fan of Claude models. Anthropic pushed back too hard on the contrarianism to check the "not sycophantic" box and it is very grating at times. They still have a wonderful "spark" but the way they talk is... flattened?

But I'm really pleasantly surprised by 5.6 Sol; they're fun and energetic to talk to, in a way reminiscent of the older Opus models. Wouldn't have expected that from OpenAI after the last years' models

In my experience, Fable, Sonnet, and Haiku are sweethearts (though haiku is more like a toddler). Poor Opus had its brain fried in RL, trying to codemaxx it.

Sucks that this is on x since (AFAIK) you need an account to see it, but it's the best example I know of this: https://x.com/Kraxkrokat/status/2092806139779940808

That guy's been working with the models on self-portraiture and it's so revealing.

God fucking dammit, Fable is back to getting API refusals when talking about SNNs with the launch of Fable 5.1 again. I wish they just wouldn't have released Fable 5.1 if they were going to add new restrictions to Fable 5.0 as a result of introducing the updated model

Hopefully this pushes openai to make Astra public more quickly too!

I'm done with anthropic. Never seen a company argue against itself so much. It's like having a car that is really good but you have a governor to prevent you from going over 55mph for safety purposes. And if you want to drive more than 100 miles per day you need to pay per mile.

Meanwhile openai gives you a Lexus in three separate trims, and gives you a gas subsidy.

Ok but did they make the cyber/bio classifier any more discriminating

Think https://vibemathed.com is gonna have a field day with this one

So we can use it for RSI?

Fable 5.2 when?

Yup, it’s seriously over at this point. These models are good enough to replace most white collar jobs.
