Number 1 customer complaint: “dude, it’s been a month. where’s my stuff?”

u/DessieScissorhands 2d ago

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit-" *Tries to remember which van that customer's stuff was in, if it was still parked at the old residence or if I was even the one that moved them*

Then at 3am the customer wakes up with their entire house unpacked and chaoticly organized.

And all the drawers open for some reason

Are they using the title font from Stat Trek The Next Generation?

To boldly go where we’ve forgotten how we got here

I did not catch that, good eye.

We forgot you were moving today.

Half of your stuff is still there, but we did paint the kitchen. Oh, was that your old house?

"So, are you gonna start loading the truck or are you going to keep standing here in the middle of the room staring at everything?"

u/puritanicalbullshit 2d ago

Uh sorry, Max found a working Atari so we’re gonna have to finish up tomorrow… or maybe Thursday

u/Cyortonic 1d ago

Just wait another 30 minutes or so and then half the room will be completely empty

I dunno I kind of love it lol

They like to move it, move it ...

33

u/MountainHigh31 2d ago

Ok so I was a mover for like fifteen years and didn’t get diagnosed until years after I left that job but it really all makes sense. Tons of novelty and nothing abstract. The truck is full and then the truck gets emptied. No ambiguity about what needs to be done and a different scene twice a day.

If I do it, I’d move one item then doom scroll for at least 5 minutes. Rinse. Repeat. Smh

“Oh shit! Was that today!?”

They'll forget the appointment, show up 8 hours late, and still somehow pull off a 10 hour job in 2 hours.

Sorry bro we kind of forgot about 30 percent of your stuff....but you have all the necessary bits!

u/Themoosemingled 2d ago

I’d stand there thinking about where everything should go and how it should go while other people just do it.

5

u/FlamingSquirrel101 1d ago

It’s a threat actually

6

u/Themaskedbowtie353 1d ago

Unfortunately, they also sometimes cant start moving

3

u/jesskr 2d ago

Way to figure out how to monetize movement! ha

3

u/MaxAnita 1d ago

We can’t stop moving, but we’re gonna jump from task to task and take 3x as long.

This business name will change and the owners will have to explain their bad decision. With time people will understand how debilitating, difficult and painful neurodivergence can be. This is no different than the way people spoke about mentally challenged people 20 years ago. An example of how divergent people see neurodivergent as a joke.

I would only be fine with that name if the owners/creators have adhd themselves, honestly (also hiring exclusively neurodivergent individuals, probably wouldn't work in practice tho)

u/DistinctHead6451 2d ago

Hi ive dealt with ADHD my whole life, its a nightmare, but you should chill

-2

u/sewkit 2d ago

Even if they hire neurodivergent people exclusively, the name still minimizes the experiences of the neurodivergent. If the owner and employees are indeed neurodivergent, it does give an opportunity to share experience. That is only to slim percentage of customers that actually hire the moving company and take the time to talk to the movers. The rest only see the moving van. The van normalizes mockery for a very misunderstood developmental disorder. Minimal text about a vastly complex disorder doesn’t help our cause. It only reinforces stereotypes.

Its probably some ADHD guy and his friend who worked up the motivation to finally file the paperwork for an LLC after not being able to hold a steady job longer than 2 years. Not everything is a microagression

6

u/SadamHuMUFFIN 2d ago

Or maybe they're neurodivergent themselves and hire other ADHD employees? Got a landscaping company by me with combat vets in the name and they only hire combat vets, could be same deal

4

u/No_Drawer_2349 2d ago

There's no way the person who named this company is neurotypical. You're getting angry at something that doesn't exist

0

u/sewkit 2d ago

Please explain what you mean by “something that doesn’t exist”.

u/hellllllsssyeah 2d ago

For real my fucking problems should not be your exploitable advertising.

Also by definition I would be a terrible mover with my ADHD my goal is to do as many things as quick as possible while forgetting.

You will not be happy.

As someone with debilitating ADHD, I found this trucks ad relatable.

u/JuliaGrem 1d ago

I wonder if instead more companies should be named after disorders? Think of the possibilities!

I thought it was hilarious

My culture is not your costume!

1

u/Billyfred 1d ago

Hello, it's 3am. Time to pack up all your stuff!

1

u/OrkzOrkzOrkzOrkz0rkz 1d ago

Why is half my stuff not actually "my" stuff so whose stuff is this and where the hell is my stuff?

1

u/IAwaitAGuardian 1d ago

"We charge $15 an hour because it will take us 10 hours to move you out of your small 1 bedroom apartment."

Okay ik this is supposed to be a meme.

But i actually found the company and they are pretty damn thorough and have amazing reviews. I have never ever seen a company this planned out. Usually it’s like “they can handle it don’t worry about it” then one of them ends up having a break down or problem.

They ask in-depth details and a whole plan and the level of organization is so skilled and impressive.

https://www.adhdmovers.com

Im just disappointed they are not local would have moved stuff just to get interactions.

Im not even kidding half of these people know how to organize shit in a truck not just shove shit in. They also sell their own shirts and merchandise. They also donate books and resources to public schools.

They also have a facebook page and i just can’t you have to look at this skill level.

Their facebook page i cannot with the level of organization the pictures are everything like damn look at that patients. Definitely some comorbidity going on or medicated adhd.

I didn’t mean to ruin your post but damn i was so impressed i had to say something.
