I always headcanonned Charlie with ADHD. He's canonically extremely dyslexic too which has a high comorbidity.

Probably, I think it just evolved from dyslexia into being illiterate as the show went on. He went from seeing the door marked pirate that was actually private to be unable to spell his own name and spelling it as Chrundle

I always assumed he just had both. He was raised in fucking shitshow circumstances clearly had a learning disability and absolutely no one bothered to give him extra attention (except in the crossover episode with Abbott Elementary lol) so he never learnt and it's kinda hard to teach him because he convinced himself he is literate and also communicates with alien

Oh I don't think they have either. I think they just went with the vibes. I think it makes sense for the character tho from all we know about him and his upbringing.

I am on my bed after drinking my usual energy drink setting what I am going to play in the background.
It's hard to make people understand that I started again to buy energy drinks to calm down. My doctor doesn't get it and he's a fucking doctor... my gf has a hard time seeing me swallowing my diazepam with an energy drink, even tho she gets sleepy when she drinks 2 cups of tea... and there has to be some degree of neurodivergency for her too...
It's not that fucking complicated isn't it?

For me, it's even more interesting sometimes.
A 200 mg caffeine pill makes me feel a very strong premature dopamine reward. Like I've already accomplished everything there's to accomplish for today, and now is the perfect time to rest and enjoy my winnings. Even if I literally took it immediately after waking up and rationally understand I haven't achieved literally anything today yet.

Caffeine can calm me down, and for some reason can kinda shut down the effects of feeling overstimulated. Albeit I wonder if the overstimulation was from dehydration and since the first drink of the day for me always contains caffeine (yes even if it is 5:00 pm. My routines don’t give a shit about my health) it might be connected. I should research that cause now I’m interested.
